hi.
is it possible to set a folder on the Sd card as the default ringtones folder for HTC S710 ?
i have to manually copy ringtones to the device memory in order to set them as ringtones (takes up valuabel device memory !)
already tried a registry tweak to set a folder on SD card as default tones but the tweak doesnot seem to work on wm 6.1 (the tweak page was for WM5)
p.s. using Gonzo's 6.1 WM.
There is a way
Simply create a folder in SDCard\My Documents\My Ringtones, it works for me
thanks for the reply shaunak.
i copied all my tones from device memory to "storage card/my documents/my ringtones" but still no go.
i must mention here that i have downgraded to the default htc rom.
do i need to still do all the 'registry tweaks' ?? how about some help ?
peace

Hello,
I want to install apps into my SD card but one thing I don't know what to do is how on earth I select a specific folder where I want to install it?
I don't like having programs installed in the root sd folder I want it to be more like:
/storage card/programs
I use Dell Axim X30 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE
I heard that it can be tweaked with Resco Registry Editor but what do I have to do??
Help please !
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Apps\Microsoft Application Installer
find a Key fAskDest and change it's value from 0 to 1.
Alternatively you can also use this great program if you're installing directly from your SD Card
It's called CabInstl
download it from here:

thanks alot everything works I managed it to work using reg tweaking but it still doesnt see al folders in my sd card. I created a folder Programs and I couldnt see it till i moved it to another folder "My documents" which is located on my sd card as well. wtf?!? :?
Hey,
thanks to madds, I can now transfer files over bluetooth on my qtek 8300. Does anyone know any registry changes I can make to change the default location for downloaded files to the storage card, instead of main memory?
I have red similar post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298646
wich explains how to put mail and attachments on sc
to be little more precise what i have done:
1. edited registry:
HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
1.1 adding PropertyPath value "\Storage Card\Mail" string
1.2 adding AttachPath value "\Storage Card\Mail\Attachments" string
2. restart
3. found new folder on device named Storage Card and my real storage card named Storage Card2
4. shut down device
5. removed Storage Card
6. renamed Storage Card folder on device to Storage Card.bak
7. shut down
8. put the card in and turn on
9. i found new foder on device named Storage Card besides Storage Card.bak and my card named Storage Card2
what am I missing please help
Qtek 8310 WM6
PS: if no one nows how to solve this problem at least try to help me with deletnig renamed "storage card" folders that were auto created after restart...
they contain system folders and take up memory
I have the same problem... Is there any solution?
I am having Tilt (HTC 8925) and having the same problem. does anyone have the solution?
It seems that there is no solution to that problem...
I'm experiencing the exactly same issue !
I successfully flashed the new ROM on my Tilt 8900.
After I began reinstalling my apps on my SD card, I encountered the annoying SD CARD2 problem.
For those who are not familiar with this, it's a Win CE bug, which makes the OS to "recognize" a new SD card, which is actually the real SD card.
The problem is related to Messaging.
The solution is as follows:
1) Disable Messaging from Start-Today.
2) Run the built-in File Manager.
3) Delete the (fake) SD CARD folder.
4) Goto the SD CARD2 folder (which is the REAL SD card) and delete all Messaging related folders (ie attachment folders.
5. Extract the SD card and SR.
6. Run the File Manager, check that the SD card is now called SD CARD. If not - rename it from SD CARD2 to SD CARD.
7. Exit the File Manager, re-enable Messaging from Start-Today.
USUALLY - this solves the problem.
I found that with this ROM - it DOESN'T.
So after 3 HRs and many many hours reinstalling my apps, I finally understood the problem, and changed all Messaging settings so that messages and attachments are now stored in main memory.
This includes the storage options available in Messaging, and several options available in Kaiser Tweak.
I know that this isn't a good idea, as it fills up memory very quickly, but it's the only solution that worked.
If anyone finds a better solution, please post it here.

thank you it's work great
Is there not a way to link it to your SD card because that would be the best scenario as it could hold more.Thanks.
Create My Ringtones folder in Storage Card, Copy your MP3 files to Storage Card\My Ringtones & use it when you set it. Copy .*mp3 flie to Windows\ & use for SMS, Alarm....!
