WM6.1 HTC t4242 Java - General Topics

On my HTC t4242 touche cruise 09 I have windows mobile 6.1 with arabic support. All is ok except when I open Java programs like operamini. Arabic letters still are there but words are unreadable ( from left to right instead of right to left ) this happens only in Java and not in WM programs.
Any help?
Thanks

Check settings in your java VM, you may need to get a different one. Search around.

Sounds like you might need to install the eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003!
eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003 can be found at;
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/developer/evb.mspx
As far as the list goes one was started here on this forum some months ago, so trying doing a search on the subject.
HTH
It would have been handy to have a compatability settings like xp where you can choose to run a program under 95 compatability for example.
Qman
thanks but i have the source of that hp48 emu prog and it being c++ makes me think that more then vb dll's will be required to solved
if only i had the embeddet visual studio for 2003 i could try and find a fix because from what i can read on the site of that hp48 last time they did any work were like 2001 or something

I want to make programs for HTC Touch Pro (WM 6.1)

Hey guys,
I am a programmer at heart and have developed in many different languages(C,C++,Java,PHP,ASP...). I want to begin developing applications for the Touch Pro (WM 6.1) but I have no idea where to start. My biggest fear is downloading the WM 6.1 emulator messing around with it for weeks only to find out that's not what I should have been using. Can anyone give me some pointers as to where I should start? Are there any tutorials out there for programming for this phone?
I also noticed that the WM 6.1 emulator didn't support the 480x640 resolution that the HTC Touch Pro uses...
Thanks!

I use Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 + Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK + Windows Mobile 6.0 SDK to develop....and this book "Programming Microsoft Windows CE .NET, Third Edition". Its for c/c++, from basics to create drivers, services, etc

Do you know of an emulator for the HTC Touch Pro? I downloaded a program that I know works, and was able to compile and run it on my phone but when I tried to run it with the emulator it was missing the HTCSensorSDK.dll file... something fairly new i presume. I tried default emulator and the Windows Mobile 6 Professional VGA emulator but I was wondering if there was one available for this phone yet.
I want to know the same thing
If/when you find an answer to this I would love to hear about it or see a post on it. Thanks.
There's no such thing as a software-only emulator for the Raphael's hardware, that would be incredibly complex to create for such a task
What the developers use is called a "Board Support Package" - it basically contains all the raphaels hardware, in a PCI card that gets installed in a slot in the computer.. that way all the drivers, etc can be loaded and everything can be tested as it would be on the phone itself.
There's pretty much not a chance in heck of you getting one of those (although if you do, send one my way, I would love to have one )
The emulators are useful for testing generic software that does not tie into any of the features that require raphael hardware. There should also be emulator images to support all resolutions (qvga square, qvga, vga, not sure about wvga/wqvga)
And, here's the link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...52-f89e-4354-84ce-5d19c204498a&displaylang=en
Looks like it does in fact come with wqvga and wvga emulators
Note that you can use an emulator kitchen to add SOME of the htc stuff to the ROM image, but none of the drivers that support the htc hardware will function.

How can I get a WM 2003 program running on WM 6.1? Help please!

Hello community of xda-developers,
I got a huge problem: I just changed from my oldschool Windows Mobile 2003-PDA to a brand new HTC Touch Diamond with Windows Mobile 6.1.
I used to use Powerlex 4 mobile dictionary from GData, which worked fine on my wm2003-device.
Now i installed it on my touch diamond and the program runs, but once i try to look up for a word the program crashes and WM 6.1 gives me an error message/message, that a problem has occured.
Is there any way of getting this program run on WM 6.1? Thanks!
How about just switching to a different dictionary? Lexisgoo Dictionary is excellent and works well with WM 6.1
problem is that I was usually looking for some Freeware, but no matches in google. I don't want to pay again 39,99€....the GData powerlex 4 cost me this price I want to continue using it!
by dictionaries do we mean books i was just wondering why not by the book.
hey jayjay, no, by dictionaries i mean a program, which can translate and describe you words and sentences from german to french or from french to german, etc.

WM 6.1 multilingual support??

Hi..
I have a Touch HD with WM 6.1, Dutty's 3.9 rom, regional and language set to English(Australia) as default.
I just wondering is it possible to make WM 6.1 multilingual support?
The reason for this is because i'm not English. I have many files(in the phone) that has a foreign language as a file's name (ie. music, docs.) and is quite annoying every time when i browse the phone, no matter with Windows Explorer or 3rd party program like Total Commander, i have no idea what file it is cuz i couldnt read it(showing blank square everywhere).
Is it even possible to make WM 6.1 multilingual support?
It can be like a language pack or something that i can install to.
Thanks
PS. I search in XDA, Google and even MS site, i found nothing.
