+1 to that, I also would like the same thing
nobody knows anything about this
I don't know why you having a problem with that...my slider is located in the middle and I can slide either way to answer the phone without any problem and any extra app.
If you slide to the right, it rejects the call.

if you have a phone in her right hand is uncomfortable, move the slider to the left when answering the phone, course with one hand because the phone is too big
its more natural to slide to the right, when given the choice (for right handed people i think) so i guess HTC expect people reject more calls than they accept
Id like to flip the answer / call too btw...
Funny, I answer with my left hand and I'm looking for a way to reverse the slide to answer too. I think it would be easier for me to slide to the right to answer! lol

I'm looking for an app that will add typing sounds of some kind while using the hardware keyboard on my G1. I'm coming from a modded, OpenTouch flashed and overclocked HTC Herald/T-Mobile Wing which had the option to add sounds for hardware button presses. I'm a big guy with BIG hands- my two thumbs placed together stretch from the "A" to the "L" on the G1 keyboard. The G1's keys are smaller and don't have the healthy, positive feeling "click" that my old Wing/Herald did, which makes it hard for my big ass thumbs to register if I've depressed the button. I end up backspacing a lot to correct double typed or missed letters. Having sounds would help sooooo much. Even the same sound you can set for screen touches would be perfect.
Does something like this exist? Could an app be made?
~edit~
Just realized I should have posted this in the apps forum....sorry! Move if needed!
hmm good post. I would like to know this as well, would be a great feature addition.
maybe someone can create a sound not when it opens but when ever the screen is rotated?just a thought

no offense, but that wouldn't really help the OP
and it would be a nice feature. god knows how you'd do it though
This would be an absolute must have app for me....I'd pay for it without a second thought.
ttt....
My hope is that some super secret squirrel developer will see this and whip out the appropriate app and beam to my phone in 3.2 seconds. lol
i was wondering about this also!

its quite possible to do it. i dont know how though
in the coding, there is a keyboardhidden and keyboardexposed recognization...
we just need to find a dev interested in it
i would like this also!
i love using the on screen keyboard because of all the sounds and the different ones for space and delete and if i could have it on my hard keyboard also i would most definitely pay
You guys know about Haykuros keyboard mod? The one that gives the hard keyboard predictive text? It also gives you key pressing sounds like the VK does.
can you link us to this?
if you use haykuro's HTC IME you can tell it to make typing noises when you click the hardware or software keyboard.

Hope that this helps.
YESSS it's HERE!!!!
All credits to exidler!!!! Thanx man!!
I saw this question somewhere else, but i just could'nt find it. So i thought let's start the idea again...
The idea is to have the proximity sens enabled in the wm6.5 lockscreen! Why? To disable the screen and hard buttons! That way if your HD2 is in your pocket, the screen won't go on if u press hard buttons on accident... see.
This would also be a nice feature if you get an incoming call, it happens to me very often, when i have my HD2 in my jeans and want to pick up a call, i often press the end call when pulling out the HD2 out of the pocket.... very frustrating!!!
Is there someone out there who is able to create an app/ tweak like this???
Thread you mentioned was open by me, but no solution for now. Btw proximity sensor isn't a bad idea, I can code in VB .net, but I don't know how use the sensor with the code! I hope there will be a more skilled programmer here!
The solution for now was called S2U2
yeah... any skilled programmer/ developer over here???
Yep, that's a great idea. Shame I can't do it myself

not that easy mate.. how about the lcd going on all the time in your pocket...
htc just needs to add button lock in there rom.
So you can only poweron poweroff the screen using the power button.

I agree, but only when nothing cover the proximity sensor, otherwise the phone will switch on and off in your pocket a lot of time!!
BTW, tha't incredible!!! Why HTC doesn't implement this basic function in their roms?? Really, I don't know!

hi to all,
I have check, pocketshield (latest beta) S2U2, smartlock and some more other
all of then have the same problem, they can not lock the answer key, so in case you have and incall and the phone is on your pocket you can accidentally pick up the call.
pocketshild developer has tall me that it's waiting for HTC to release a hotfix.
iosub
BTW, if anyone finds a solution please post it here

Good to hear...
But why are they waiting??? is it possible that HTC knows about this prob?? Would be nice if HTC developed this theirselves... prox sensor to switch off the LCD and hard buttons in incall AND in Lockscreen!!!
Or come on XDA Developers!!! One of u guys or galls have the power!!!
I certainly don't like the idea of using a full-blown locker like Pocket Shield or S2U2 for this purpose, so hopefully somebody will come up with a way to trap those darned buttons that can be used outside of those programs. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out why standard hooks fail...
hi
for me the real question is, why the htc dialer does have a slider but it does not lock the answer and end call keys when reciving a call ?
if htc developers didn't think about it why are they going to fix it ? I don't think we will get a hotfix ...
anyway if anyone find a solution .. please post
thanks
I don't think HTC is going to "fix" it, it's not a bug, it's a design [in]decision. It's been the case with all their phones since the times when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.

I agree with you, but then... what is the solution??? Because each time I have an incomming call and I have the phone in my pocket I have to praid not to push the answer key!!...
To bad "feature"...
is someone from HTC lissening this forums???
Iosu
someone from HTC stated that they do have an eyes on XDA Dev forum and said "We can't live with them and we can't live without them" referring to XDA-Dev and the like
I've tried Lockbot, and the thing crashes my phone way too much.
I've tried using a password lock, and it's just annoying.
All I want is to remove that second "menu" push for unlocking the phone, that's it. So when I hit menu, I've got to swipe down to unlock it.
I was working in the yard yesterday, and I unlocked my phone every time I bent over, causing me to make calls, change songs, etc. It was really annoying.
Any way of doing this?
Thanks!
Yea, dont bend over....But, to answer your question, No.

So the only option right now is to enable the lockscreen or go with a holster I guess..ugh.

Do we really need to go back to the "deodex the entire ROM" debacle? LOL
is it any kind of way to make the phone vibrate harder than it does?
What are you planning on using it for?
im not a ring tone kinda guy so i keep my phone on vibrate...me personally it doesn't vibrate hard enough for me and sometimes i miss my text msgs and phone calls...i took it to a t-mobile store and they told me thats as hard as it could vibrate and it was nothing wrong with it
"missing text msgs" sure.......................
if u want it to vibrate harder for another reason just say so.
naw thats wut it really it is...imma grown man wit no reason to lie...i hate ringtones...my tp2 used to vibrate wayyyyyyy harder than this Hd2

Longer maybe, harder no.
The difference between software and tweaking vs hardware.
The little motor can only spin as fast as it was designed to.
There are some other sites on the intertubes that cater to your needs
Actually most consider the vibration is too vigorous.
Is it Your girlfriend forcing You to aks for this ?
LOLzzz
Bro use G-Profile to set reminders. If you miss phonecall or message it will remind you about this with vibration that frequently as you wish.

Too true. I had mine sitting on my table top & couldn't even hear it vibrating there!!! My old Samsung Epix would rattle the **** out of itself on a table top when it vibrated. My HD2 just doesn't have that good vibrate, but with how sick this phone is, I think I can overlook it for now.
Does anyone know how to skip the phone activation screen?
