Keyboard sounds?

I'm looking for an app that will add typing sounds of some kind while using the hardware keyboard on my G1. I'm coming from a modded, OpenTouch flashed and overclocked HTC Herald/T-Mobile Wing which had the option to add sounds for hardware button presses. I'm a big guy with BIG hands- my two thumbs placed together stretch from the "A" to the "L" on the G1 keyboard. The G1's keys are smaller and don't have the healthy, positive feeling "click" that my old Wing/Herald did, which makes it hard for my big ass thumbs to register if I've depressed the button. I end up backspacing a lot to correct double typed or missed letters. Having sounds would help sooooo much. Even the same sound you can set for screen touches would be perfect.
Does something like this exist? Could an app be made?

hmm good post. I would like to know this as well, would be a great feature addition.

maybe someone can create a sound not when it opens but when ever the screen is rotated?just a thought

and it would be a nice feature. god knows how you'd do it though

This would be an absolute must have app for me....I'd pay for it without a second thought.

Same here.... I was using my buddie's G1 for few min, I had to turn on audible selection. Lack of noise was driving me nuts!!! lol

its quite possible to do it. i dont know how though
in the coding, there is a keyboardhidden and keyboardexposed recognization...
we just need to find a dev interested in it

i would like this also!
i love using the on screen keyboard because of all the sounds and the different ones for space and delete and if i could have it on my hard keyboard also i would most definitely pay

You guys know about Haykuros keyboard mod? The one that gives the hard keyboard predictive text? It also gives you key pressing sounds like the VK does.

if you use haykuro's HTC IME you can tell it to make typing noises when you click the hardware or software keyboard.

Definately looks blasted Don't think the warrenty will cover it

your right sorry i must of missed that.

no worries... Just hold the power button + camera button and with the stylus press and hold the soft-reset button, this will ask you if you want to hard reset your device, press the green answer button, let it do its work and you'll be good as new!
haha, thats intense! please go to an At&t service repair center with a hidden camera and attempt a warranty exchange!

Smart Vibrator and Accessibility??

I have Smart Vibrator App installed on my Evo and it says I need to check Accessibility to open up the remind me vibrate but theres one little issue I have. The Accessibility box in settings in the phone is grayed out so I can't check it. Any advice?

I'd really like to have a way to have the phone vibrate first and then ring affter Xsec. and then if you missed it have it vibrate(remind you) till you acknowledge the call/txt/email.

I'd like this feature as well.

Well figured out the Smart vibrate app problem. I had the older one labled 1.5+ where the one without that in the market is the latest evidently.
Still would like the feature or app built in that can have a way to have the phone vibrate first and then ring affter Xsec. and then if you missed it have it vibrate(remind you) till you acknowledge the call/txt/email.

I was just telling a co-worker about how this must have been the worst thread title ever. Then I hit the link and saw ur comment, haha.

Been Testing The New Phone ..

Its OK .. Nothing That Great I Think.
However seems everything works lol
Whats Your Thoughts ?
Found a few things I do not like ..
1. Volume Not that great - notifications kinda soft.
In-Call Not that great for a old fart like me.
2. The screen is a tad smaller then the hd2
So everything .. the icons and text are smaller
hard to read ;( Again for us old farts
Like CMY'S res on This ROM WAY better! 240 I think.
Also Because Of This The Keyboard Buttons
Are Soooo Small You Cant Hit The Right Letter!!
( I have Big Fingers! ) Swype Is Even Worse! Dam It!
3. The Screen is not as bright as the hd2 LOL
And Seems Not as Good! As The HD2!
Un-less you crank up the brightness!
4. There is no call history icon ??? FFS
What Really ???
5. The Icon For NEW Text Message is WAY to small!
Open New Messages and there is a icon Upper right
corner .. tiny ****ty Little thing. ( Big Fingers! )
6. There is a Program that comes with called Mirror
The Front Camera Looks Like **** !
However with all that said .. Its Mostly Seems Fast ( Kinda )
And everything I have Tried Seems to work and WIFI calling is nice.
Every program I have installed works well.
What DO you think ?

With all due respect, but did you have to start new thread for that? What about initial thought thread?

I think the moral of the story is to get booked in for sight and hearing test ASAP!

You do realize that the screen size is identical to the HD2 right? Items onscreen appear smaller because of the vastly increased resolution.

ashasaur, i told him exactly that in another post he started, but it seems people don't bother reading these days, only post new threads.

If you hit the settings button you will see call history. Not mention every call activity is log right in the main phone app screen.

Not true.
HD2 screen = 5,6 cm x 9,4 cm
Sensation screen = 5,4 cm x 9,5 cm
I have both phones and have measured the screens on both.

The screen is smaller width ways so it can be a 16:9 aspect ratio, instead of HD2's and Desire HD's, which was 5:4.

The only thing missing now is an app that kill old peoples farts.
The size of the screen is what it is, but i love it

WarlockW: How about testing the device before you buy it?! For me in this case it seems it's not the phone that's the problem....
Reminds me of a story at a local dealership: An lady in her 60ies came in with a high and device with some problems. The shop owner looked at it for five minutes, than looked at her and said: "It's not ment for old hags like you!" True story!

1. Your ears are clogged from your old age.
2. Your hands are too fat due to low metabolism because of your age, and your eyes are too old and is not as good when you were young.
3. Again, your eyes are way too weary nowadays. I heard they come with age.
4. Your brain is too old to pull out short term memory.
5. Again your fingers are too fat and eyes too old. Age related issues.
6. Uhhhh....When I look at mine a reflection of a gorgeous guy is staring back wrinkle free. You are a tad too old to be using it. They have wrinkle creams and surgeries nowadays....They can certainly help you.
What do I think? You are simply TOO OLD to own this kind of cellphone.

I see 'respect your elders' never was beaten into an idiot like you...
The volume IS low vs the HD2, the screen is narrower and harder to type on and see, and the front camera does have a crappy resolution. Those are facts, and he was merely pointing them out. You just had to be the arrogant ass that had to post to make himself "look cool."

Whistle noise when phone vibrates?

Hey guys, I just got my Nexus 5 today and ive noticed when in a quiet room, if im texting, or anything else that makes the phones vibrate via key press, it makes like a whistle kind of sound from the vibrates motor. It seems kind of weird. Anyone else notice this or could it be a flaw with my phone? I know theres other threads about the faulty vibration phones being shipped out but haven't read anything about this noise I hear.

If I did Id say thats some skills to be able to fart every time I hit a letter on the keyboard when texting. If that was the case I think id need to get myself checked out, not the phone :silly:

I have the same problem. I assumed this was the "vibration defect" I've seen people talk about.
I haven't felt like getting a replacement and honestly I kind of prefer my keyboard without vibration now that I've been using it like that...

Ok at least im not alone :highfive: It doesnt bother me much, I just wasn't sure if it was normal or not. All the other threads I read about the defects with vibration didn't match up. I'm not going to worry about it just yet :silly:
