I want to reassign the soft keys on my WM6 Pro Today Screen. I already have the app that lets you do this. What I would like to do is reassign on of the buttons to launch my Start Menu. I just don't know if this is an app or if I need to change this in the registry.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

trouble Running Applet
I unpacked the applet, copied to storage card, but can't get it to run. What am I doing wrong?
Hi all.
I'm new in the forum and i dont'n know if other have the same problem:
The button in the left side of the phone ( under volume buttons), can be assigned in the settings -> buttons, Anyone know why?, and How can I fix it?, only the "hold side" can be used.
thanks by you help.
P.D. i have wm6 in the treo ( att official rom )
Wait a minute, I'll upload reg-hack for it...
Use registry editor to import file from archive. You'll be able to assign side button. It works with every rom - from WM5 to WM6.1
thanks
My friend, thanks a lot, , the issue is fixed.
regards.
Hi guys
When I connect the phone with the usb cable activesync makes a BEEP every 5 minutes. I cannot find the registry key to disable this. Anyone know it?
BTW i'm trying to disable the BEEP when I press the red HANG key. I know the sound played is "dpadctl.mid" and I disable it on all the registry keys it appears, reset, and is still making that sound everytime i press that key.
It might help a little too if you told us what Phone Device you are using and what ROM/Radio you are using.
I don't think it helps too much since the registry keys for events are the same for all windows mobile phones with WM5 and WM6.
I got a TyTN (HERMES 200) with Super D-Lite ROM.
Please close thread.
I found the solution disabling the active sync sound. (well, that's more a workarround than a solution)
And for the HANG KEY i found more registry keys with the sound. I previously missed it cause i searched '\windows\dpadctl.mid' and not 'dpadctl.mid' directly.
I hope this is usefull for somebody.
Hey Man Im Having The Same Exact Problem On My T-Mobile Wing How Do I Disable That I Only Find That dpadctl Sound in Windows File Explorer windows/ Can You List A Step by Step to Disable It ?
Hi,
I have a problem with the hard volume buttons.
When pressed they function as up and down buttons but with a few seconds delay. I want them to control the volume. I have probable installed some program that messed up the phone but can't get it to work the way I want even after many uninstalls...
Finally I found AEBPlus trial and I do not know what I did but the buttons now works. Afer uninstalling AEBPlus the volume buttons do not work anymore.
Does anyone know of a solution to the problem which does not include AEBPlus? Registry?
Edit:
I have a HTC Diamond with Windows Mobile 6.1
ROM: 2.03.413.2.SVE (latest original)
Radio: 1.09.25.23
It seems like it is a custimized taskbar problem...
what's installed on your device?

A lot...
Problem seemes solved.
I read about another guy who had the exact same problem and after blaming g-alarm for a while he came to the conclusion that it was an old htcvolumecontrol.dll that what the root cause. I did an update on my taskbar and now it works.
Hi everyone. Sorry if i posted this in a wrong section, but General seems a right place for it...
I just put my hands onto a used Pharos Traveler 137 today, and it's driving me mad.
From what i remember, the power button should turn off backlight when pressed shortly.
On the Traveler, it invokes a soft-reset.
This happened on both native WM 6.1 and the official update to WM 6.5.
I have even uninstalled all applications in case anything was interfering. Didn't help. I just touch the power button and it reboots immediately.
Is there something i'm overlooking?
Can anyone help me solve the problem?
Maybe the button is mapped to something wrong? Is there, for that matter, an application or a registry tweak that will remap it?
Any help will be much appreciated; thank you all in advance.
Update: i have also found out that even when i lock the device software-wise (Start -> Lock in WM 6.5) and the nifty padlock thingy appears, the power button isn't disabled, it reboots my phone just as well. can i be 100% sure this is a hardware problem or is it still a software bug?
