Birthday limit - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hello and sorry if i'm starting an old question.
When i want to put an birthday in my contacts there is an year limit of 1941?
you cant go older than that.? my dad is from 1935 so i cant put his birthday in my phone?
Is this a htc problem or windows mobile 6.5 problem.
Is there someone with a solution?
Greets
John

that's true!!!!! maybe they think that a 69 yo cannot be listed in a htc phone! enough for a moral protest on facebook.

Edit it with Outlook, and it works.

If you tap the "more" button at the bottom when your editing your contact, you'll be able to type in the birthday date manually..

orbit 2 cube contacts, can't add outlook contacts

Hi guys,
just bought myself a orbit 2 smartphone,
i would like to add contacts with a picture to the htc cube intalled on this phone.
Wen i try to add a contact, it shows me my sim contacts, and not the outlook contacts containing a picture. I really can't find out why it wont show my outlook contacts.
Maybe you guys have a clue ?
Thankzzz
No one ?
Please give me a hand, sorry if this is a newbie question,
but get me going, i can't find any other persons with this problem.
Bump Up we go
Are those contacts (Outlook) available, when you click
on the "Kontakte" Softkey on the left bottom on the Today screen?
Normally the cube uses the same database as all the others.
This means, if you want to add a contact by clicking the + in
the cube it enters the default contacts application where you
choose the contact. It is, however possible to hide the sim
contacts from showing, but never heard it viceversa
You are using the orbit 2 with O2 Rom "out of the box", right?
Olioaglio
Hi olioaglio,
Thank you so much for the reply!
If i use the green phonecall button and then left on the bottem off the screen enter the contacts. Then yes i can see my sim contacts and my outlook contacts.
If however i go to the cube and press an emty photoframe to add a contact to the cube, i see a contact window but no outlook contacts in the list, very bizar! I can however make a new one, menu --> new contact, and then make a outlook contact, but when its made, it doens't show in the menu, so i really cant find a way to do it !?
Im running a O2 rom out of the box, with wm 6.
Its better for me to show you
so i made a little screen video
You can find it here: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=X752XJWJ
Hope you guys have megaupload acounts, i can upload it anywere you like.
just ask
Thanks!
does anyone have an idea what i could do? Based on the video?
Bump, please help me out guys!

[Request] - Facebook sync app

Hi
I have an idea for an app. It should work kind a like the facebook function in WM 6.5, but in another way. Instead of choosing contacts to syng, it should sync every "friend" from the facebook profile.
You log in with your facebook log ind. The program looks at your friends, and if the friend has a number attached, the friend is added to your contactbook, with name, phone number, profile picture, and address(only if the friend has this info available).
Other features:
Auto sync. Each day? hour? week? user choice?
Choice of "Only sync when connected over WIFI"
If friend exist, then update number, address, profile picture, etc.
What do you think? Wouldnt this be nice?
It would indeed, but if i recall correctly fabook has put an end to this. Whether it's illegal or not i don't know, but im sure FB won't agree with it...

Hmm, but there is already a built in function in WM 6.5, but only for each single user, so should'nt it be possible to extend to all users?
http://www.booksync.co.uk/
its for the pictures, correct the names and birthday date
but im missing the sync of numbers, emails...
I used to have (WM 6.1) the option to save the picture as the birthday date to the profile in my contacts.
When I link a contact with facebook in WM 6.5, I only can save the picture, so the birthday is not saved in the profile, even as in the calendar.
Is there a solution for this problem ?

Last name, first name in contacts.

Hi in here.
Im quite tired of that the phonebook shows my contacts with last name first an first nam last.
You can change that manually if you choose your contact and presses edit contact. Then scroll down to more, and then your are in the original wm settings. Here can you edit to first name will be shoved first.
Aint there a fix there does that automaticly to my contacts.
Im tired of doing it manually to each contact.

Hi,
If I'm right, I think you need to organise your contacts within M$ Outlook in a way that they are stored First Name first.
If this is how you synchronise your contacts then what you want to look for within Outlook , on each of your contact details, is the 'file as' option and select your preference.
I'm not sure if there is a universal way of changing this for all contacts, I only tried doing it one by one.
I hope this helps

Sync Data from HD2 to HD7 Help.

Hi All,
I'm newbie here... hope you guys willing to help me.
Recently I just upgrade my phone from HTC HD2 to HD7, unfortunately I cannot sync / move all my data such as CONTACTS, SMS, EMAIL, WORD, ZNOTE, etc to my new HD7.
Could you guys kindly help, what software do I have to use or any easy way to move my Contacts & SMS.
These to items are most important.
I'm totally lost...
Please help...
Thank You.
easiest way I found to transfer contacts is to use soocial.com. they have a winmo application that will upload all your contacts that you can sync with your live account that your phone will then download.
Or if you have gmail, you can use active sync on your hd2 to upload your contacts to gmail, then hd7 supports contact sync with gmail.
There is no sms syncing available.
For word documents, easiest way is to email them to yourself and open them on your phone, long press the document and save it.

Well. What is your email provider?
The easiest way of sync Contacts and Calendar is actually having Hotmail account.
And use ActiveSync to put this to Hotmail from HD2,
and set on HD7 Hotmail account which will bring it to phone.
As for office docs I'm afraid the only way is Hotmail SkyDrive or just email this to yourself.
I also want Zune to sync all this content!
Have you find a solution to transfert the sms from wm6.5 to wm7 ??

If I can'it transfert my sms on my new htc HD 7 i'll not use it

Hi Titeloo,
I'm afriad there is no current solution that i know of that would allow you to export/import sms from WM6.5 to WP7, If you really cannot stand to lose them then i would sync them with MS My Phone. This will allow you to store them online and view them whenever you like, however this solution still will not allow you to get them onto the WP7.
I wouldnt let this stop you from using your new handset though, i also have an HD7 after having moved from an Xperia X1 (WM6.5 device) and i can tell you that it is a completely different experience. I have not seen a single bug or crash on the handset since xmas and most importanatly i never have to restart it
Hope this helps,
Creamy
It baffles me that someone would refuse to use WP7 because they can't read their old SMS messages. That makes absolutely 0 sense to me.

Was wondering the same.. SMS import? Oh cmon
yes for you maybe it's strang but for me it's really important...
I want to keep my sms and i need to export the hold and to back up the news too... because they are remenber... maybe i'm too much sentimental
But for me it's a pleasur to have some messages always with me in my phone
I can't imagine loose all my sms and contact if loose my phone or if i change the rom...
So i don't know if i'll find a solution but i hope because without si problem hd7 look great ...

Yes I understand not wanting to lose some messages, but I can't believe you'd rather stay away from an entire OS than lose a couple "sentimental" text messages.
And why would you lose your contact list?
Export your messages to PC and then send them in text as email

I say that because with my phone the contact and sms was save every day automatic so if loose it or if i've a probleme with it all it's save on live
Some other applications do that but miscrosoft block them on WP7 I don't know why, i can't understand ...
Wp7 also saves/backs up contacts to your live account
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
If only there were a version of PIM Backup for WP7..................

Yes if only ...
But i ask about an "wp7 appli" at bloove.fr and they explain to me that miscrosoft block this type of applications...
So I don't know if we'll have a solution on day...
Hello people!
I've just upgraded my HTC HD2 to WP7 and I backed up contacts and texts to My Phone.
Now I can't get those contacts to new OS.
Microsoft says that those will be automatically transferred to SkyDrive in August but I can't wait till then.
I can access both MyPhone and SkyDrive on Internet but I don't know how to sync these two programs!!!!
Is Microsoft so stupid and hates its own users or what???????
I have all my contacts backed up and I can't transfer them to my phone???
Awful !!
Please help,anyhow.
Those contacts are very important to me and I can't manually write 800 of them

Contacts' birthday

I have an exchange account that I linked with my Tab and I have been looking for the contact's birth date... which I haven't found in the contact application
Probably haven't looked at the right place. Can someone help me and tell me where it can be found ?
Than you
Anyone has the same issue ?

Do you press the "More" button at the bottom of the contact info?
If it's not showing up automatically then Exchange may not be synchronising that information. If that's the case I'm not sure how you'd force it to do so.

Of course I checked.... Exchange can synchronize birthdays on Outlook, pocket outlook, and some other softwares. From what I read around it seems Android doenst support this
Can you believe it ? The dumbest of my previous dumb phones support birthdays. My WM device did. And Android doesn't ? Honestly I am getting closer and closer to a deal breaker. A contact app without birthdays ? What's next ? A Phone without a dialer... ? I hope it;s not true
I have to check Touchdown, maybe it's available there...

You can define the birth date in the contact's device and then you can link that contact to your exchange's contact.

Seriously... that sucks...
I have around 1,200 contacts... This is ridiculous... Android is still not ready for prime time in its v2.2
Anybody can advise an alternative contact app that can replace the original one and allows to see the birthday field ? (And modify it...)
I heard MIUI ROM allows it so maybe there is a way to extract its contact app (?)
Actually I may give "Go contacts" a try
Anybody has tried and can compare with Samsung's contact manager ?
