Can a 1ghz Android phone view larger image files (help with my test) - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
I would like someone to help me.
I have some pics that I believe are from a 12 or 12.1 megapixel didgital camera and I would like (when the time comes) to transfer these files to my 1ghz HTC Desire smartphone and view these pics as I do on my computer.
When I tried to view this same file on my old but existing Sony Ericsson K800i, the phone told me onscreen that "This picture is too large to context". but smartphones are more robust, more powerful processor's, 3rd party apps to support more things over the native OS.
I DO NOT WANT TO CONVERT OR DOWNSIZE THEM.
... So I want to push the phone to it's max and see if it will view this resolution higher than the phone's camera.
HTC HD2 has the closest hardware spec to the newer upcoming HTC Desire and I would like if anyone could test the attached image.
Can anyone here with a HTC HD2 help me by downloading this hi res pic and seeing if it opens on your photo viewer? What about testing it in a native photo viewing app from market?
This is the pic here to download and test (2848x4272 res):
sendspace.com/file/dva0p6
(this forum is blocking me from posting live links!)
Tell me your experiences with the image and if it works on your HTC HD2 or Nexus One - I need to know.
Can it first of all, view the image in the native viewer?
Is Zooming in/out of the picture verry laggy?
Is the picture showing up as a thumbnail?
Please help me

any help from anyone?

I second that. I've been looking everywhere. But I can't find anything that intuitive. Has anyone found any program like that?
The only thing is the Picsel Browser. But the problem with that is you can't view all the files in a folder and go to the next picture easily. But you can zoom in and move around like iPhone.
Please anyone knows one let us know.
i heard resco is the only program close enough
It is an other option I guess
and freeware
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?soft=368
and this one too
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?soft=877
i dont know of any picture viewer that scales and zooms like the iphone with two fingers, but i use xnview, its free, opens other picture files resco cant, etc etc.
I've been looking through this forum and google, but still haven't found anything alike...
Is there anyone that's been able to develope something like it?
Thanks!
google something call iZoom , its not available yet, but would be a nice substitute
Doesn't HTC Album work a bit like the iPhone thing? I've never tried it because it won't run on my 9502, but apparently it works on a lot of devices and its freeware. You push the image to the side for the next image, and draw a circle around a bit to zoom in and stuff. Looks really cool. Wish it ran on my device

try VITO EyePhoto.
I like it very much and it's intention is clearly to bring iPhone usage principles to WM.
yes htc album is simple and efficient. easy to use.
but you should search better and sometimes look in the dev & hack section of xda and you could find this :

WorldCard Mobile

Does anyone know where I can get this program called WorldCard Mobile; it comes with the Tytn II. If not the specific program something that is comparable.
Check it out under Applications on the eLearning page for the Tytn II:

Here's the deal..there are apps that will let you take a picture of a document and "scan" it..or a picture of a whiteboard etc...and thats basically what this is doing..taking a snapshot of a business card and "importing" the data...keep in mind the kaiser II has a 3 megapixel camera....the mda you and I have on the other hand has a 1.3 megapixel camera and does not handle light levels near as well...it can handle whiteboards and thats about it...anything smaller and it's going to loose to much detail to be "scanned".
If you still don't believe me..one of the sites that does something similar (scans and then emails you a pdf) is http://www.scanr.com/
I've tested my MDA camera with a magnifying glass, the text come in clearly like in macro mode. It even works better if you got one of those bifocal lens.
i used the emule to download the file and the keygen.
but i cant upload for help you!
check this for more info.
http://store.penpowerinc.com/mobile.html
realy try to upload, problem with my ftp server or something the zip file is only 6.5mb.
anyway use the emule, search for penpower and you take the file..hehe
enjoy!!
ohh i forget something..
to use this app for the wizzard u have to make your camera macro mode manualy. u have to take out the cover and adjust the lens.
working fine to me but i dont use the camera for normal fotos

QIK App for HD2?

hi everyone,
did anyone of you guys manage to get QIK running on HD2? I can install it and it runs through installation without any errors. But as soon as I try to start the application I get a black screen and nothing happens.
if you don´t know about qik, here´s the link
http://qik.com/
cheers.
wil
Same here.
Tried some QIK versions for HTC, but none of them worked. What a shame for the most expensive HTC device.
Same here! And BambUser is worthless to on HD2, flickering pictures...
I posted something in thos thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629080 but i don't think anyone has seen it.
qik, is a great Programm!
Cooks take a look on this, please make it run on HD2.
I wanna live stream videos to my friends!
Check qik.com for more information.
The new HTC EVO 4G runs it too!
hd2 is not on their supported device list. maybe that's why it's not working
I checked out the forum of QIk and even their employees are like sorry WE DO NOT OFFER any support for HTC HD2 and the employee posting in the qik forum goes on to say we have no ETA for support for QIK.
So we need to find another service or someone would need to modify the QIK App for us HD2 owners if that is at all possible.
Check LiveCast, not sure if they support the HD2

Live cast works but has a flicker..Not worth it
Live Cast is too bad Video Quality.
Unbelievable that no of the Live Video Streams works in good quality with the HD2:
Programms checked:
qik.com
flixwagon.com
kyte.tv
DOES SOMEBODY KNOWS ANOTHER GOOD WORKING LIVE VIDEO STREAM
SOFTWARE FOR THE HD2??
I believe that Qik will become backwards compatible with the screen resolutions and settings once the EVO 4G is released.
Granted, it'll start with the Android platform... but I'm sure that will open some possibilities for us Windows Mobile users with the HD2.
New Bambuser version that works... better...
Hi!
There was a new update for Bambuser this week and it works slightly better than the one before... but just slightly The flickering is still there, but now you can edit options and return to program without retstarting it like i had to do over and over again when trying different settings...
320x240 works ok now!
kick the Qik post 2 update 4 HD2
What is the best solution to get Bambuser on my HD2?
I look at your video ToddeSwe, and wonder how you get so much better quality then i did.
Hope anybody have a good answer
This live streamşng problem is just unacceptable!
HTC HD2 is an expensive device, HTC claims this is better than iphone (and it really is) but this is a huge problem.
Even ****ty Nokia's can do this..
HTC must do something, work with ustream or qik or bambuser and come up with some solution.
Solution to qik on HD2:
use darkstone's Froyo 2.2 android port v2.2 on your 16GB SD card (doesn't take much space at all) and the once in Android then goto Anroid market and then download QIK and u will be able to use it properly. It worked for me and I am using a TMOUSA HD2.

[Q] app for photo edit?

hello i am looking for good application for photo edit
something like this
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lo-mob/id334581568?mt=8
or this
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=291176178&mt=8
thanks!
try :Resco.Photo.Manager.v7.03
Moved as not software release.
XnView is a good choice and free.
Ultra G is another free alternative. It comes with a lot of functions to edit photos. The only shortcoming is that this software has been available for a long time and its interface has not really been adapted to higher resolution screens. But it works flawlessly on my Xperia X1 nonetheless. I dont know the link but google is the way to go
try pixlr-o-matic
I also have this question

Any image-editors out there?

the HD2 lacks a built-in image editor, anyone know a good one I can install on the device? simple functions as contrast, light, gamma, saturation and such are only needed. not looking for a app to draw with..
Resco Photo manager does a good job
When I bought a Touch Pro2 one of the reasons was that you can't really sketch on a capacitive screen, so I couldn't get an HD2. Believe it or not but I often draw on my Rhodium and send my logo concepts etc to clients simply because its the fastest available way if I have no access to a computer and scanner.
I use PocketArtist 'cause it has its similarities to Photoshop (layer support etc), so that's what I would recommend but I think that for simple photo editing you can also use Photoshop Mobile that you launch from the internet browser. Haven't tried it though.

Photoshop mobile looks good, found no web-interface editor, only the app [at] photoshop.com.. though it's only for android and iPhone/iPad, guess I have to wait for a good Android-build for the HD2.
Will check out pocketartist!
