I've been following the forum for some time now and this is my first post, i guess it's kind of a noob question, but I think it will be good to have this info at hand in case anybody needs it.
Here is my question: I own an Rogers HTC Magic, it's already rooted and running CM 4.2.15.1.
My info it's as follows:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP50000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Which are the new version for the Magic 32A for radio and SPL?
Is it a good idea to flash a new radio or SPL?
What's the requirements for SPL and Radio to run CM?
I've been researching a lot but I can't seem to find the answer to this, as a Rogers customer I've been affected with all this 911 bug thing, and I read other posts that the in the Dream it's possible to update the radio, but i don't know if this applies as well for the Magic...

Your spl-radio is what is needed for CM.
the latest spl-radio is 1.76.2007 and 6.35.10.18 BUT I haven't seen any port for this radio for CM.
I think the reason is there is no official 2.6.29 kernel for latest radio and CM use this.
This is the reason why the 2.1 ROMs (which need the latest radio) isn't that stable...because the kernel they use is a custom kernel from sanpei who has not an official kernel to work on...
The most stable ROM that use the latest radio is CursorSense and he is using 2.6.27 (custom..but with an official to work on)

..., my kernel is based on official msm-2.6.29 from Google's tree, and cm-kernel is based on this one also. the only main differences are he don't need to port the driver/logic for the new radio, and could use the drivers/logic in this tree.
those android/SenseUI 2.x ROM for 32B/32A old radio, which uses his kernel or other custom kernel similar with cm-kernel, are not working well.
the secrets are not only in the kernel, they are in the proprietary libs which released with new radio, and Google breaks something in android 2+ too.

nono, my kernel is not as good as cyanogen's, it is true.
but it is not caused by us new radio developers..... Cyanogen has all sources and files he need (since he was not making pure android/Sense 2+ ROMs), and we don't.
we must face this problems, since we decided to bring all latest things to our phone.

If you are on Rogers and this is your current configuration,you must not have any data, or if you do, you're calling Rogers daily for a network reset.....???
This was my problem until I updated to radio 6.35, and updated my SPL, after that my data came back without dropping and I can use/try any of these great new ROMS that everyone is putting out that only work with the new 6.35 radio.
Do the upgrade....you'll be glad you did!

This phone is from Starhub,in Singapore.
If it is possible to root,using the official senseUI please teach me how to,as when i tried to back up using the recovery flasher,the backup could not be done.

1.76.0007 is a perfected SPL and I don't think it has been hacked so far. There is one way to get an engineering SPL, but it's very dangerous and you might end up bricking your phone. Best thing to do is wait 'till someone finds a way to root the rom you've got.

I doubt it. Because 32B is Google/T-Mobile branded, therefore it's not HTC who'll update it.

HTC have already stated they will not be releasing SenseUI for Google branded Magics (32b).
I've heard that aswell, but won't porting be possible?

Porting is possible, and has been done.
If you've got a 32B Magic, check out the Dream forums. Most of their ROMs are compatible with 32B as well.
I could do a direct port to 32B Magic for my ROM, but it would run horribly slow and crash a lot, so I won't even try.
I wouldn't mind testing it. It's worth a try. Please

that guide gets you to cyanogenmod which does not use senseui.
but the thing with the guide is it gets you root. and from root you can install any rom including those with senseui.
i would look into cursordroids rom here in the magic forum, its a great sensuirom that is hella fast and stable.

yeah to bad it is 32A and not 32B which the myTouch 3g is!!!
Plus the rooting is for 32B myTouch 3G's so if you got the fender edition or the one with the 3.5 mm jack then you can't use the method in the wiki.

What the hell is your problem?
That guide IS for the 32B board (i guess you didn't even bother to look), and there are other sense ui ROMs than those that require the new 32A radio!
Plus, the creator of this thread obviously DOES NOT have a mt3g 1.2 judging by his fastboot info.

Way to rage LOL, He's saying CursorSense is for 32A, I guess you didn't bother to read that twice.
Also, I didn't find it OBVIOUS that he didn't have the mt3g 1.2. I never looked at that things fastboot info nor do I care because that phone isnt even available where I'm located. I find it rather nice that he informed the lazy user that it wouldn't work on the fender. (Learn to search yourself gatxclub and do some READING, you obviously didn't do enough searching/reading if you don't understand it, you make these forums messy with retarded questions)

I have to say that a little reading and searching would get you a long way... the Unlockr has a step by step guide to rooting with a goldcard. Go here for those instructions. He also has the one click method right above that.

My friend has a MyTouch 3g that he wants to load a custom ROM on. I've been looking around and have been confused on what ROMS will work on this phone. I believe this is the the MyTouch LE because the phone states the following:
HBOOT - 1.33.0013 (SAPP31000)
CPLD - 13
RADIO - 2.22.23.02
Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. My friend wants me to root his phone and I've already created a goldcard, but I told him I wasn't going to move forward without having a solid ROM to load on the phone. What ROMS are available for this version of the MyTouch? For example, can I only load certain versions of say, Cyanogen or will all versions including the current 6.1 for the dream/magic from their site work?

i've just rooted my dhd and done a radio s-off and installed revolutions 5.1.4.
my question is regarding flashing a new radio - if i do flash a new radio, how could i restore my stock radio for warranty purposes if i ever had to?

Make a note of it then check the DHD Development Forum radio thread to see if it's there in which case you can install it again.
But if going to stock you'd probably flash a stock RUU which unlike a custom ROM will contain the stock radio too.
Guys don't know if this is useful however I found that sometimes the radio which comes with the ROM isn't always the best one to use. For example with ARHD 2.2 I was using Mike's ROM with the official radio, and I found my device would often disconnect during calls.
I switched over to LeeDroid and his suggested radio, and this worked absolutely fine. So I then tried Mike's ROM again with the radio for Lee's ROM and it worked a treat.
I'm based in Italy and not sure if the ROMs are tested by the guys when developing in the UK, but I've found you can play around a bit.
