I was using my Fuze the other day, and was scrolling down a website with the stylus, when all of a sudden the god damn stylus scratched my screen. As you can imagine i was mortified and shocked. A big gash only a week into owning my beautiful new fuze. So i take it in and tell them what happened and they gladly replaced the phone. Nice people! Guess the 30 day period does cover scratches, if by stylus!
thats odd, glad they swapped it for you. was your stylus's point sharper then usual?
So....
It's a good thing to treat your new styli to a bit of emery cloth before you start playing.
Erm... The first thing I did when I got my fuze was throw on that screen protector. Would be foolish if ya didn't do that the second go round.

When you say "that" screen protector. Are you saying they provided one with the FUZE in the box? Or did you buy one separately?
Yes one does come inside the box.
I was applying my invisible shield today and a little bit of the solution got into the earpiece duct, about 10 minutes later my touch screen was no longer functional. I've already returned my phone and getting a new one Saturday. Be careful with your phones guys, a little liquid and its all over.
I love the included screen protector. I've used alot of protectors over the past decade and the stock one holds up better than most (especially for free). I still don't have so much as a blemish on it even with alot of active use and it traveling in my pocket (but no keys). And it's such a good fit that when people check out my phone they tell me that, "You really should get a screen protector before you get any scratches on the glass."
Joke's on them.
I never even looked in the bag with the quick start guide, sure enough a screen protector and another screen protector that comes on the phone with all the warnings on it.
Included protector
Does anyone know the manufacturer of the included protector?
I didn't get mine aligned properly, some dust started peeling it from the corner so I had to ditch it and got an invisible shield, but I liked the included one because until you get use to it, the invible shield takes some getting use to.
Just peel your included screen protector off, wash it with some soapy water, and reapply it to your screen again (while still damp, but not drippy wet). Smooth it out and gently move all the bubbles of water out to the edges of the screen, and voila.
It doesn't specifically use a tacky glue so you can reapply it again and again. I do the same trick on my DS for perfectly clear and aligned protection.
Same trick people that tinted my car windows used for getting the plastic onto glass.

Did you wait 12-24hr before putting the battery back in and powering it up after installing the invisibleshield? Because you are supposed to, to prevent exactly what happened.
Dang It, I need to double check my trash. I had no idea they provided a screen protector. It was in a bag with the quick start guide?

[filler goes here]
i have been reading on this forum and it seems to have been messing up a lot of people's nexus ones. i have ordered mine last week n should come in any day now. im just wondering if this is really true or if it just happened to a few unfortunate people....i dont wanna mess up my nexus one cuz its rooted so that means no warranty
how does it mess it up?
Yeah, I'm wondering that too. I lurk the forums every day and I don't remember reading anything like that.
could he be talking about the teflon coating peeling off if you peel off hte invisiblesheld?
Personaly i didn't like invisible shield had it on my hero but the color didn't come off when i take it off.
anyways like to see pictures from people who had this.
I was just about to go get this today...
I've got the full body and hasn't messed up mine. I like quite a bit. The pieces aren't cut the greatest to cover the device completely though.
For me it didn't mess it up, just looked like CRAP.
I've used them on other devices and they've looked fine, I think the N1 screen is just too good.
I peeled it off 3 days after putting it on.
All i have is the screen protector but i haven't had any problems with it. Color is fine and no peeling
I have the full body skin. The skin got a dent so I went back for the free replacement. Pulled the old one off with no problems or issues. Not messed up for me.
I have tried the invisibleshield, the bodyguardz and www.bestskinsever.com and I have to say bestskinsever ain't lying. They go on the easiest, stay on the longest without peeling and don't change colors. The invisbleshield was the worst. I always had the edges peel up or not lay right and after a while it started to change color. (the skin-not the phone) It would turn a brownish color. bestskinsever are the cheapest also at only $8 for the full body + S&H. It doesn't come with solution or a squeegee like the others do but it comes with directions and it has been the best skin for me. I have it on my N1 and my ipod touch.
bestskinsever...cut me a check biotches! lol
I've had the invisibleshield on mine for awhile now and it still looks great. No problems at all.
Maybe putting too much of the solution gets into the cracks of the nexus causing water damage?
I only have a screen protector it it works and looks fine. I carefully wiped up the excess solution with a cloth.
Water DMG
well 2nd day i got my nexus i put it on, it looks great unless in the sun. got water in the cracks and the touch screen response is pretty bad.
and i dont know if i can it replaced?? its rooted so yeah....
dont do it man

IE: Don't do it like this guy and you'll be fine....
I've put BSE's on many devices, you don't put the skin on wet, you shake the heck out of it THEN put it on.. It's just damp, just enough to move around. If it takes more than a few minutes for it to stick down on the flat surfaces, it was too wet.

Water Damage
I was having a lot of trouble a while back with my trackball not working. Long story short- I got soaked in a storm with the nexus in my pocket, like uber-soaked. My trackball wasn't working, so I figured it must be water damage. Btw, the nexus was very wet in my pocket, like fureal. My touchscreen was fine. To make the trackball work, I took a towel and put it on the trackball and rolled it around, and then also did the same while actually pushing down on the trackball. I did this for a couple of minutes, and then it was back to normal. I really don't think invisible shield solution will damage your phone that much. Just be careful with it, and it should be fine. While putting it on, keep a towel with you and wipe access. Don't worry too much.
Desktop Dock Issues
I put the invisibleshield on my Nexus One basically immediately after I purchased the phone in January. As far as the phone goes, I saw no problems whatsoever, but when I purchased the Desktop dock, I found that the invisibleshield changed the dimensions of the phone just enough to prevent the contacts on the phone from aligning with the contact on the dock, so I had to peel it off.
Not sure if that has anything to do with the problems posted, but that's just what I found.

I have a BSE skin on mine..I don't have to Desktop Dock but I have to Cardock and it fits in perfectly with the skin on it. I've had Invisibleshield and BodyGuardz on my Nexus and BSE is by far the best skin I've put on my phone.

I love BSE's, I have 'em on everything... except my Nexus. I guess I'm just paranoid.. While the BSE's have several times for me in the past prevented scratches from minor drops on various MP3's or phones, I think (hope!) my Boxwave Crystal Pure Slip case would protect a bit more by giving some cushion to the device if it does fall.
Even that said, I'm still debating on getting a BSE for the N1. When done carefully, they look great and if kept clean, keep a nice grip and stick nicely to things like a pant leg in the car or such, vs sliding around and winding up in the back seat like my N1 did several times when I first got it
My Invisible Shield has an annoying brown dirt under it somewhere near the bottom left corner of the screen and there are some imperfections that look like stains. I was told that I should wait for a while for the imperfections like the stain-like thing to go away. However, I have to get that brown dirt out of the screen protector.
Is it fine to lift some parts of my Invisible Sheild so I can take the dirt out? Will the Invisible Sheild still stick?
I had this installed on my N1's screen 11 days ago and failed to see the dirt before I left the store because I didn't turn my screen on. I got it from iShield, an authorized seller here in the Philippines. There's lifetime warranty but replacement costs about $4.3 because the N1 protectors have to be shipped from the US. I'll ask them to replace this, but if I can, I want to fix it myself because it's hard for me to visit the store.
I would take it back. If you peel it off, Its like a window tint glue, It will not stick as well as the first time.

That's right. That's exactly what happened. I'll take this back as soon as I can.
Btw, the screen still looks stained or something. I don't know how to explain this. It's the blur you get when the invisible shield is not perfectly in contact with the screen. I was expecting the curing time to be a week or less. It's about 3 months already
I've found that running it under the water really helps re-application. It cleans the shield, and makes it easy to apply.
If you havent taken it back to the shop yet, you should give it a try.

That helped a lot! Too bad, mine is already messed up and it seems irreversible because I didn't do this before. It looks better now, though.
Thanks!
and nothing but some scuffs which i was able to wipe off...does this mean that my TB has the good glass? i hate screen protectors and never needed one with the droid... so hopefully i wont need one for this... i hate the verizon one they put on for me... took it off
Rub some sand/gravel on it next time. You probably wont get as lucky. Typical keys are made out of mild steel so it would make sense that the glass might resist heavy damage. Have you turned your screen off and examined in good light? The bolt does supposedly have GG. I'd still get a screen protector, with a good one you'll never know it was there, the vzw one is a pos.
I already have a flaw in my screen, looks like a little dot that I have no idea how it got there as I have not done anything to cause it. This is a physical thing on the "glass" that you can see with the screen off/on. Not a dead pixel or anything.
Id still get a screen protector. I boight my TB, had it in my pocket for a day, and somehow got a scratch down the middle of the screen. If its gorilla glass, its not as good as other screens.

Get the Steinheil Ultra Crystal (http://www.sgpstore.com/cell-phone/...-screen-protector-steinheil-ultra-series.html). You'll never notice it's on without looking waaay too closely at your phone.
Are those screen protectors or tampons? The boxes threw me off.

Well, I would assume screen protectors, but then I've never spent much time looking at tampon boxes.
OT.

Well... that was dumb.
I have one of the anti glare ones from the VZW store. Hurts my eyes to look through this thing.
OP must have money to burn. I have a zagg screen cover but I would never key my phone on purpose
I have a nice 1/2" scratch right along the upper middle of my screen. Don't know what caused it but its deep, my finger nail catches on it if i rub it across it. The glass isn't that tough.

I second this. I cant even see the thing on my screen (unless you look at the seam at the bottom).
Heh, keys are nothing. I keep my TB without any covers in my pocket for most of the day. I can throw anything in there with the phone and have no damage. Ironically enough though, the one day I have it in there with nothing else, I have a nice slash right down the screen. The little specks of crap that lay around your pockets are what do the damage, not the big things.
i think you guys might have faulty glass... i dunno..it seems tough to me.. way tougher than my iphone for sure...

It also feels like I'm actually touching the glass.
Try scratching it with a rusty nail to see what happens. Oh and can you record it and post on YouTube so we can all see!?

This happened on the first phone I picked up within a few days - the oleophobic coating came off in 2 spots. I returned it with no questions once they saw that. No issues with it since. There are a few posts with photos of this if you want to do a search and see if yours look similar. From what you describe though it sounds like this is it.
Hey,
These arent spots theyre huge swaths. Ill try getting a picture later tonight.
Sorry havent replied b/c i had a final today. Thanks for your guys' help
Pictures are a no go. They arent showing up.
But they definitely arent spots. Theyre streaks across the phone and the top right corner is basically all gone. Its really wierd
Thing is i bought it off of someone. Its a rogers phone but do i need a receipt to take it back?
when i had the same problem i took the phone in to a shop without box or charger and they saw what was wrond and just replaced the handset there and then !! try it you have nothing to loose
ill try that thanks
I have the same problem on my motorola atrix. There's a forum about this on the droid life forums. I'm not sure how this happened, I think I let something maintain contact with the screen too long and it was like corroded.
I think this happened with my whole screen too, I may have cleaned it with water because I touched my screen as soon as I came out the shower then wiped it off. After that my screen started feeling really "rough" I just put on a matte screen protector after that even though I didn't want to at all
