im a GSM TMO TP2 user but i recently got my hands on an alltel CDMA Diamond that has been flashed from alltel to cricket... .
i have 2 simple questions.
1) if i "clear storage" will it herd reset the phone back from cricket to alltel?
2) my 2nd question is, i was messing with some of the registry settings to see about getting the MMS working and i got lost in what i was doing, now i can't even connect to wi-fi cause its asking me to fix my f*ck up... will hard resetting restore registry settings?
i am almost 99% positive i know this answer.
thank u to whomever helps me, just lookin for simlpe yes's & no's.
(btw, yes i've read thru posts & googled my questions. i've been on howardforums & ppcgeeks all day yesterday... just wanna be safe is all.)
Hard reset will set your phone back to the latest ROM installed. You may have to reprogram your phones features by calling cricket, but it should not reset to alltell.
Hard reset will set you back to default registry settings.
thank u very much.
very appreciated
Im on the Cricket Mobile network now with a Sprint branded Touch Pro 2.But i had a Sprint branded Touch Pro before for about a year and if u hard reset it will restore all factory default settings of your current rom and u will not have to call Cricket at all as long as u know how to setup your wap/data Connection Settings. And Good Luck trying to get the mms to work on almost any HTC phone thats been flashed to Cricket.Ive tried with several different HTC phones on the Cricket Network and none of them would send or recieve mms.I tried it first on my Touch Pro,and was successful a cpl times but my mms messaging would send 4 or 5 pics and then it would quit working.Thats the best ive ever got mms to work.Ive tried to setup mms on an HTC Touch Pro,HTC Diamond/Touch,HTC Vogue,HTC Touch Pro 2,and none of these phones would get picture messaging. No matter what setup i tried or what version of Arcsoft i used, and none of the cutom roms ever come preconfigured for Cricket use and ive tried to reconfigure them but like i said after trying all of those HTC phones all flashed to work on the Cricket Network and none of them would reliably get mms.SMS always works just fine right out the box on all roms ive tried tho on every phone ive tried and experimented with.If u do figure out how to get mms working please PM me and let me know how.Thanks.If u need any help configuring the data connection after hard reset just ask.
you can get mms working on cricket... you just need to know what you are doing.... I have created a 100% working rom for the mogul but havent tried yet on the touch pro2 because i havent got one yet..... trying to find one now..
The best place to start is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=492824 <---- this is for the mogul but most of all the setting should be the same
then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4260361&postcount=447 <---- same as above... this is for the mogul but most of all the setting should be the same

I have tried to mess around with 6.1 lately and for some reason I am not able to figure this out.....
I get everything working, for what I think but then I keep having problems with the MMS. I will send my wife a test message and it takes over 3 hours to get to her. When I am running WM6 with radio 1.27.14.09 it works fine, takes less then 2 minutes to get to her phone.
Now before you start grilling me, I have done a google search. I have found problems such as
1. unable to send at all - not my problem
2. MMS not working - not my problem again (works just really slow)
3. Use this cab, use that cab, I have tried them all they don't change the issue
4. Make sure your going through MEdiaNet - I am
So what I am asking, is anyone else experiencing this problem???? The only thing I have looked into is it possibly an arcsoft issue???
I don't know if this will help, but I'm finding that with the 6.1 roms on AT&T that if you allow the Network Configurator to run, various things don't seem to work quite right. I was having issues with WeatherPanel not working on the AT&T network. I've now flashed 3 different 6.1 roms in the last couple of days and did not allow the network config to setup the AT&T settings, and then disabled it (when the next screen came up). After doing this, I then ran the remove hidden proxy cab and the WAP/MMS setup cab and then did a soft reset. Now MMS works fine (I never had the 3 hour delay you described, but I did have other issues with MMS on some of the roms) and WeatherPanel also now works (haven't had a problem with it in over 24 hours where before it might or might not work, then would stop working a few hours later).
Like I said, may not help your situation, but something to consider and try.
NOTE: The method I just laid out will NOT set up isp.cingular. Only Cingular GPRS and MEdiaNet. This is how I used to always run my Wizard and dumped the $40 per month PDA Connect plan for the $20 per month Unlimited MEdiaNet.
I could hug you!!!! Oh my god, do you feel my love...do you feel me humping your leg!!!!!! It worked,,,,absolutely amazing....Thank you!!!!
Glad it worked for you, but wow, not sure about the extent of the emotion you are sending in my direction... LOL
So for future people that hit this, did you remove the other settings, just install these two cabs, hard reset and follow my above directions, or what? Just curious myself as I'd like to get to the bottom of what goes wrong (or is missed) with the Network Configuator process for AT&T.
To tell you the truth, it stopped working later that night!! I had Dutty's ROM installed , hard reseted , installed the two cabs and it worked. Then I tried sending another pic to make sure it worked about 10 minutes later.... I took 5 hours to get to my wifes phone....
It has to do something with the radio's. I tried a bunch and none work. I'll just wait till the Official 6.1 comes out for ATT and look at the settings.....
Thanks anyways!!!
if your phone said message sent then it arrived 3 hours later to the recipient then its a network problem not really to do with your phone but just incase look at other radios.

Looks like this just changes some TCP parameters and such. Is that correct? So you would use this in addition to the WAP MMS cab I posted earlier I assume.

It changes some TCP parameters and puts in the IP header compression and the DNS servers.
I really do not know what the problem is.... those didn't work either. It honestly might be something in my area, South Florida. I tried with the new radio, those files and vice versa. I am dumfounded.
As soon as I flashed back to 6.0 and used the 1.27 radio it sends immediately. It must have something to do with the radio and my area.
I appreciate all the assistance
I have the same problem. I received my tytn II 2 days ago. Previously I used the se K800i. With the k800i, there was never a problem when sending sms messages. Always very fast to send and receive but now on my kaiser, it takes a long time before my messages are received or till I receive an sms message.
Still on the stock rom version 1.56.404.6
radio: 1.27.12.32
Windows mobile 6 professional.
So, ive been searching up on this for about a week now, and still nothing has helped me.
I even took my phone to ATT and they fixed it for a little while but it just keeps messing up.
basically, my data isn't working right, the settings changes from wap.cingular to ims.cingular... OR it will go from having no username and password to there being a username and password. When i go to comm manager it saids data is off, so when i turn it on it tries to connect but i get that "can not connect" notice.
I have a cooked Fuze rom by At0mAng and the 1.12.25.19 Radio.
Ill provide any type of information needed in order to help me fix this problem.
Also the ATT guy said i could call in for warranty... but i know if i did that id have to put the stock rom back and all of that, so im just trying to see if anyone here can help me before i decide to do that.
Hmmm, is there a registry change in that ROM to disconnect data after X amount of time? Like TouchPro Tweak, or Diamond Tweak? You could try posting in the AtomAng thread, or pm the ROM chef.
Connection Issues Fuze
Well well im not the only one who has this problem
but i live the the UK and have USA Firm ware to either bypass overwrite or throw out the window.
Im still looking for real help
ok i have searched and searched on this website, so dont give me a hard time about me not reading or searching... i am running the basic energy rom (cookie i guess) july 1st 2010 version. there are plenty of threads about how to fix the mms but they dont sound like my problem AND THERE IS NO DEFINATIVE ANSWER OF HOW TO FIX IT. my phone acknowledges that there is a mms msg, and tells me the senders name (outlook sms) but it will not download. it attemps, but sits steady at 0%... will keep retrying all day long. will sum1 please walk me through this step by step, this was my first flash and i wasnt aware of this issue b4 i flashed. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!!!!!!
oh, btw i downloaded the Disable Manila Messaging .cab, and then installed the Verizon MMS 2.5 fix.cab, to no avail... still doing the same exact thing. i tried this first, and i thought i might have done something wrong, so i hard reseted the damn thing and did it over.... same thing. tampered with alll the settings on this **** ass app trying to get it to work as well. and man this app really does SUCK. F. F. F. F. F. ANY help at ALL would be VERY much appreciated people!
yall are SOOOO helpful! THANKS...... well for future reference, for anyone that has this problem, it fixes itself in a few days.
Verizon MMS Help
Try these cabs, they should solve all of your problems, they worked like magic for me because I have Verizon too... For better and faster help w/ a CDMA TP2 try PPCGeeks!
I've never had to install any additional cabs to get MMS working on any of NRG's rom.
As long as I did the carrier provisioning for Verizon under "Tools" it has worked.
Finally got my MMS back

Can anyone please show me a thread for the Boost Mobile flashed phones like the HTC TP2 where I can get help? I have a Boost flashed tp2 on energy ROM as well and I got the mms fix cab on my phone. I can send and receive pic mail but when my hubby gets the pic mail from me, its like blank! Can anyone explain that to me? I have the Arcsoft software too which is the mms fix.
Just in case anyone needs it
This is a guide based off my experiences on how to get everything working properly on boost mobile. This is not my work nor do i take credit for it i was helped by many. im just putting it together in one place for every one that needs it. Oh and i seen all over craigslist and ebay that they sell guides on how to do this everyone that learns from here please do not try to sell this instead help out who ever needs it just like you needed it.
1) You need to have a boost CDMA account active
* CDMA, yes boost has CDMA just like sprint. ** CDMA not IDEN in other words no walkie talkie.
1.5) if you have a walkie talkie account just call boost Customer service (C.S.) and tell the rep you want to transfer your account to the cdma side
2) Call boost mobile C.S. and tell them you want to swap phones on your account for whatever reason you can make up i.e. phone broke or fell on water. Just tell them its a red phone or something and it works
3) Do not tell them that your new phone is a sprint phone they will tell you cant do it not possible. Dont get worried it will work
4) They will ask you for the phones info give it to them (if they ask u if its a sprint phone deny it all the way) then they will tell you what numbers to punch in follow that exactly the way they say.
5. Once it is done wait a few while the phone gets completely activated on their system. At first text messages might not work and data as well. just give it till the end of that day it should work but if it doesn just wait a little bit.
6. Then make sure you carrier provisioned it make sure to select Sprint.
7. Run the Sprint prl update to make sure you get data working.
** Now for the big one everyone has been having problems with MMS**
Never mind i forgot how to do that one sorry . LOL
8. On a custom rom (i use Mighty rom FF) install the Sprint Arcsoft MMS 5.0.82.79 cab that i atached at the bottom and do exactly like this
*Install the cab to your phones memory
*Soft reset
*Go to Messages
*All messages
*Menu
* MMS options or Pics/Video Options
*Servers
* Click on NEW
*Server Name = put whatever name you want
*Gateway = leave blank
*Port number leave at 80
*Server address: http://mm.myboostmobile.com
*Connect via: Sprint
*Send limit= leave at 500K
*Press done
* Under setting select the name you created and then click on Set as default
* Exit out and soft reset just to be on the safe side then your should be able to send/receive MMS
9) You should have everything working correctly from here its back to customizing however you feel like.
I added the soft reset cab also just to make it easier just install it doesnt matter either your phones memory or sdcard and look for the icon in the start menu press it and it will soft reset
Oh and foreveryone that bought the phone "flashed to boost mobile" there isnt such thing they just did as stated above. There is no flashing to boost and there isnt a boost mobile rom.
If i forgot something let me know ill add it to here or maybe someone else will. If you have any either question just ask.
Wow!! What a simple method this is. So many "third-party" cell phone shops are charging as much as $75 to $100 to "flash" these phones to boost. That's insane. Thanks!!!
Glad you liked it. If you really like it then how about hitting the thanks button instead of just saying it.
Also if you feel like your missing something by not paying i can help you with that too ill send you a paypal link.LOL
I take it back, it's not that simple. Tried many many times and I guess things are more enforced since then. Ended up paying but was WELL worth every penny. I'm loving the phone now. No thanks to this

TP2 on Boost working great so far!
Using the instructions above, I just migrated my Iden Boost account to CDMA on my TP2! The Boost rep said that since I didn't say which phone I had, she couldn't tell me that it couldn't be activated. She said if I had said I wanted to switch to the HTC TP2, then she would have been obligated to tell me it could not be done. I have been receiving SMS and MMS with no problems. The Internet works fine too! Thanks for the info! I am glad I did not pay someone a crazy amount for these relatively simple instructions!

What issue are you talking about. From what i have read no one here stating they have a problem with their internet.
Read the guide again and look at step #7 if you still dont get it let me know.
**If i helped you in any way hit the thanks button**
Can I get some help? My TP2 has been working flawlessly on Boost since I followed your instructions. All of a sudden, today, whenever I try to use the internet or Titanium Weather, I get a message saying that "Your plan does not include wireless web or your balance is not suficient to cover the wireless web charge". I have been using the pay as you go plan and have plenty of money in my account. This problem just started today. Has Boost changed something? Or do you have any tips?

Ok I have been working on my phone for two days now and no luck so I need some help, I use to have a blackberry with the walkie talkie that I programed to run on boost but had problems getting my text like 2 days later so I decide to switch over to the HTC TP2 so I called boost switched my number to there cdma side and did what they told me to get it connected. Now Im using the same sims card that was in the BB phone not sure if that makes any difference. I can call out and receive calls but I dont have data or text. I have tried different roms, mighty, and mighty ff, now im trying engery now, and I like the looks of it so I will stay with it. OK I have tried installing the cab files that you have posted up, Im sure Im just doing something wrong but I extracted the files to the phone but I dont see any changes and I never get to the text option screens that you say to change. Could you please help me out Im about to the point of going back to the cans with strings attached phones. Thanks
Adding this note now getting " dialed #777 cannot connect" I have tried a hard rest but still not connecting.

how long has it been since you did the switch to tp2?
Just this past weekend, I now can text but no mms nor data. I cant get the Sprint Arcsoft MMS 5.0.82.79 cab installed, I have Arcsoft 5.27.34 now but cant add any new servers.
unlock first??
Probably a dumb question here, but does the phone need to be unlocked before hand? Your instructions don't mention it so I wanted to be sure.
Thanks!

Phone does not need to be unlocked if your gonna be running a stock rom. If your gonna be using a custom then you need to have unlocked so you can install the custom rom then install the acrosoft for custom rom. Hopes this answered your question

Your welcome
im on a blackberry plan right now, couldnt i just call them and switch to the 50/month plan and then update my phone on the website by entering in the ESN# from the touch pro 2. i have no idea what to say if im asked what the phone model is.
if your on the blackberry plan most likely your gonna have to do both changes at the same time ( your plan & phone).
Also in re: to what phone to tell them that you have thats already answered in the guide in the first post of this thread.
If the website is allowing to update ESN# changes then you might be able to do both there without having to call
So they tell me after i switch phones that internet will work in 1 hour.. It doesnt so today i try and ask for help. They ask me to dial ##3282# which for half a milli second goes to the edit option then goes back to dial pad. So that doesnt work, they then tell me to hit the update profile button "which is under the tv out button in system settings" but its not there.
This is what i tried using
MightyROM_RhodiumW_062010 (11400)
Its very frustrating. I tried the mR X rom and it was totally sluggish and boring.
so i said fuk it and flashed 6.5 windows on the phone instead of custom rom (and guess what the setting was there and dialing ##3282# works .. how lame is that mightyrom,..
i didnt see anything telling me to install custom cab or that my internet would not work with mightyrom..
I spent along time programing my contacts into the new mightyrom thinking the internet would work then had to delete them all when switch roms.
I went with sprint lovers 6.5.x and seems great has the one thing that mightyrom had that i wanted wifi router. And has sprint navigation too (which mightyrom doesnt and office 2010 along with tons of other options and cool bigger icons) Very pleased with sprint lover rom not sure if i will even test anything else.. (sprint lovers rom actually has update profile but also can not dial ##3282# )
you know, i dont post much on there but the one thing i do is READ. There is nothing wrong with mightyrom and the internet works just fine in it. ( i have ran it several times before myself ) as for programs go search for the cabs and install them. Doesnt anyone search on how to fix problems anymore?
dude u probably just didnt know what you were doing. If you had to sit there and program numbers back instead of having sense and backing up the numbers that already shows how much of a genius you are. Not trying to diss but just pointing out the obvious. Instead of blaming someone else try looking at your own errors cuz I never had any problems out of any of those roms
Meh, I have that ROM and it works fine. I have the PRL/Profile cab, and Office 2010 Mobile for it. Wifi router works great Mike!!!
This guy just posts crap in a lot of forums guys.
