Hi all,
after an hour of mooching through the registry a few caught my eye which im not sure what they do.
they are.....
local machine/hardware/builtin/AXCON
axcondrvr.dll
has priority256 with a dword value of 101 ?????
could this be the g-sensor driver?
___________________________________________
local machines/system/imageupdate/updateapp/
update app
might provide a driver (uldrui.dll) we can use for flashing new images.
_________________________________________________
localmachine/system/simlock/
has one key in it which reads **123456##
numbers will be different i had nines and eights and twos in mine.
i tried it by starting my phone up with a 02 sim instead of orange and put in code.
it beeped with the * and # and didnt display them in the box but took the numbers but wrong password
what could this be for?
also.....................
do we need the pcmcia drivers folder in the registry?
any help appreciated
The simlock code, can we find new lines ( phone company numbers ) to replace this ?
to be honest it may just be a defunct option? i have played around with the registry but each time i had to hard reset and it got annoying in the end.
i would suggest paying someone to unlock your phone for ya as its safer and it works.
if you want to explotre your registry just google for wm6.5 regedit and you should find a remote one so you can edit on your pc rather than the phone screen
Call me a normal boring old user if you like, but I'm determined not to touch the registry on my phone. Too much chance of breaking things.
worst case scenario you have to hard reset your phone. if your not comfy working with the reg then dont lol i guess a 'normal' user would have no need to touch the registry under normal circumstances, but then theres the rest of us who are to nosy for our own good who must rummage through the hundreds of keys and mess with the values just to see hwat happens lol
How you guys going to HKEY ? Need some extra program?

I go through total commander, which is a great all around filexplorer it's free and you can also access your registry.

i have Most Beautiful Ed. on my MDA Wizard. I've tweaked it raw. However i would really appreciate having decent size scroll bars again. Theyre so thin,i wouldnt even try to use my finger on the screen.<(which i have a habit of) Anyhow,if anyone has a cab or any insight on this topic i would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance!
just change the following registry values:
HKLM\System\GWE\cyHScr
HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr
HKLM\System\GWE\cyVScr
HKLM\System\GWE\cxHScr
to whatever you want... default is 13
i find 10 to be perfect for me...
thanks but...
as you know i am a noob so i was wondering if any of the "senior members" in this forum could just come up with a cab to download onto the MDA. i dont feel like nor do i know how to change registry values. i havent a clue where to find HKLM in my file explorer. Haha...i know thats funny to "senior members". Hell,i've seen cabs for dumb crap. At least this would be worth it. Ha! Thanks in advance again.

Just download PHM Registry Editor, Explorer is 'file' explorer, no registry
Eelco
thanks!
eelco, you are the best! this website is just flat out awesome. its sad that more than 50% of the population with these wizards dont have the balls to tweak and upgrade theirs. all in all, i think im going to try and become a senior member here.(hopefully one day)
wait i take it back...
i downloaded it onto my MDA,went to the files up above HKLM/system etc. and changed the values of those 4 files. it didnt fix it at all. the bars didnt change in size. is it possibly because i changed the "decimal" as appose to the "binary" or "hexidecimal"? or maybe a re-boot neeed afterchanging the value? please let me know, thanks! edit: it needed the re-boot..thanks to all who cared about my woes ,ha!
go and recheck if the value you have changed is there or not.
If not then again change the values and wait for sometime may be 30 sec and close all the application from memory in setting and then reset it will change.
A program called registry wizard will help you do it automatically as well. A bit easier if you never have tweaked your registry before. (Although it is a good thing to learn how to do anyways). You should be able to find registry wizard fairly easy by using the search function for the forum.
if u find changin ure registery difficult get d tweaks 2k2 software it will do d job!
ah ha amen!
I've searched for months for an answer to removing the system tray on WM5 & WM6
Edit your registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ Software/ HTC/ Trayapplt
Export the Trayapplt string just to be safe you can merge it back if you change your mind.
Once exported delete the Trayapplt string completely and then soft reset your device.
System tray gone and the space is usable
Enjoy
You could have just removed the Init_Tray.lnk in the windows startup folder.
I afraid for most people that doesnt work as they dont even have that link file. I think the difficulty with the system tray is that different people have different circumstances. Some people can remove the int_tray link but If you search the web your'll see a lot of people desperate for a alternative method as they do not have this file on their devices.
It maybe the case that my method may not work for everybody but until someone produces a stable app to remove the system tray we'll keep searching for the best way individually to achieve this.
Sorry, didn't realize that that link didn't exist on all WM devices, but I haven't owned every device to know that. There are however programs that force the system tray such as DotFreds task manager and MyMobiler, etc, which even removing the Init_Tray.lnk doesn't fix because the icons will create their own system tray. Does your fix for it stop them from doing that? If it does, then I might just have to try your fix out for myself.
So far ive been running this setup for 2 days.
I use xcpuscaler which 110% uses a system tray icon whilst running. Ive also minimised many programs and the tray has never reappeared. Im not garenteeing this will work but I do know that its worked perfectly for me.
I hope this helps and if you export the reg as I sugested if the tray doesnt stay hidden for you for some reason then you can always merge it back
Hmm, my kaiser doesn't even have that key so I guess I'm out of luck there. I'm not sure if my wizard does or not, I'm working on cooking a new ROM for it and the ROM I have on it now is kind of messed up. I'll have to check it out when I get my new one cooked though.
fair enough, it seems to be very device related, im talking intensively to a strong programmer to try and sort out something permemantely.
Im running a XDA Orbit (Artemis).
Willl post any findings here
sorry it didnt work for you

that did the trick for me - thanks
Thanks, just joined today and i am now very happy with the fact this hack worked for me
Joined the forum chasing icons and now i think i wont be able to ever leave
Thanks again.....
No TrayApplt in my registry, unfortunately. Still can't figure out how to remove the tray bar on my Vario II (WM5) permanently. Whatever I tried, nothing worked to my satisfaction..
Edit: No Init_Tray.lnk either! Still looking for solutions, every solution is very welcome as long as it works...

My Tilt doesn't have that key either. I don't use the tray, have it disabled, but Task Manager always creates it again, until I exit Task Manager.
My Wizard doesn't have that key either.
Programs I have found so far that may cause the system tray to appear:
- Dotfred's Task Manager
- My Mobiler
- Pocket Informer
- SOTI's Pocket PC Controller (or similar: I don't recall its name)
- SPB Pocket Plus
All of these can be made to not create a system tray through their respective settings or otherwise, I believe. Currently I have MyMobiler, Dotfred's, Pocket Informer and Pocket Plus installed, and I have no system tray on my Kaiser. The above registry hack didn't work for me.
Hey guys, I have a quick question.
Is it possible to have the unlock codes of purchased applications already in the cab when I'm cooking it?
So I don't have to do input them every time I make an adjustment to my rom.
Unfortunately I won't be sharing the rom... I have a conscience.
2nd Question...
In abusalza's PDACornerUltimate.V10-20931
The Manila 2d Has a landscape mode that "somewhat" works, is this a personal fix or is it included in the lastest Manila 2d Cab?
Thanks Everyone
As for your first question, it is possible but time consuming and tricky. What you'll have to do is find out where the key goes when insterted in the program into the registry (there are programs to see how the registry is altered after a certain move). After that, you'll have to insert that key into the CAB (probably better to do it before making the OEM) which you'll have to use something like WinCE CAB manager. This can be done to most programs and games, not all though.
would I be able to create an OEM out of the program files in my phone, it wouldn't be cab?

No, i've never seen that nor do i think it's possible. I really wanted to do the same thing, however going through many threads and asking so many people about it, i figured it was easier to manually register everything.
Ok great, well that's one down.
Thanks alot Kareem.
Anyone wana take a shot at the other question?
Use Sashimi auto Installer for REG files.
fire use PHM to make a backup of your REG
then register
use PHM again
use find the adjusted REG edits using a REGistry comparer
put the REG files into Sashimi, read up on SAshimi to set it up. and his website has more info on how to do exactly what i said above. incl video
it took me all of 3 hours to learn sashimi and its great..
As for the Second Question, Ask in the thread concerning it.
ive not seen it in the HD3 Releases Im using.
I'm doing that right now.
Another Question.
Do I have to back up my registry from my cooked rom, or can I back up my current rom that has all the applications installed and registered.

Can you name what the program is? please, i'm interested in this. Thanks.
as stated. i have hacked the reg before and gotten free tethering.
something about changing something to wap.cingular.???..? or media.net?? brain just cant remember everything with this silly phone..
any help would be appreciated.
From fuzemobility.com
5. Navigate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings\
6. DELETE the Key: “ForceCellConnection” (I actually opened the key and copied the value first in case I ever needed to add it back – just being safe)
dont u have to change something to wap.cingular? or to media.net?
no. your phone is preconfigured for internet. check fuzemobility.com for a full list of tips and tricks.
Hi there. What's up?
I've been trying to set something up and since there are wise people around here I would like to ask you a question.
I have AT&T's samsung i637 aka Jack. Recently I updated soft with mexican one (from Telcel). It works like a charm. Only problem is Mex soft has little different keyboard mapping. Some keys switched places. And I'm already used to old keyboard+what's printed on keys.
In order to get results I tried to swap eT9*.* and kbdmouse.dll, kbdhid.dll, keypad.dll files from Jack soft and put them into Mexican soft along with appropriate registry editing. Without any luck. Swapping eT9 files is not a problem-everything works as it was. I figured the kbd*.dll and keypad files are the case but each time I swap them the keyboard is completely unresponsive. Like those files were "strange".
My question is: Is there any way to trick system to see "new" files?
Thanks for your help. Cheers.

take a look in the windows folder of your device, are there any "et9.(some name).kmap.txt" files?
if you have them, upload them for me here and tell me which keyboard letters have been changed, then i'll will fix it for you!

it's eT9.samsung_keylayout.txt and I have already tempered with it.
Result -> English keyboard in messages (software). But I'm rather interested in changing the whole thing, hardware keys as well, special buttons for camera and mail (which were swapped) and gps and silence buttons. Can you bring those back?

Can someone please help me crack it? Which code is what key. Maybe that is the way.
Thanks
Do you know me?I always know you.heh~I think it‘s difficult to change the keyboard map. Why not change another ROM or cook by yourself?
well...like said above...tried to swap keyboard files...
about cooking...it's very hard for a noob to cook since I cannot find any proper guide with all the commands and stuff

My name is 忠杰者 form 爱三星论坛. Did you remember? You can look for your I637‘s kitchen to cook ROM. You could obtain from the ROM maker.
there's not i637 kitchen...it's only i617 - told to be the same. but no Noobie noob guide
