Sweet deal. I'd rather buy that htc for $25 than the sedio for $60.

That's what I plan on doing as well. Waiting for the charging dock....

Got my spare yesterday, along with this dock from Hong Kong. The dock isn't the most glamorous but it works, and came with a 1500mAh AC adapter. Having a spare battery let me really see how long this thing could go... had it off the charger at 9AM, about two hours of internet browsing, one ~20 minute phone call with mixed reception (E/3G, sometimes 0 bars), and a little better than 6 hours of music playback. At 9PM I swapped the battery, it still had 13% remaining... My G1 would have crapped out a long time before that.

i'm assuming these are the standard batteries, not extended life versions?

Yes, the same as what is shipped with the phone, though for only $25, it sure beats the 1600mAh that Sedio offers at $55 +shipping...

I don't know why you guys don't buy this one:
http://4u-kidi.com/info.php?itno=5571
It cheap and works like the original one. Before nexus one I used similar for my G1. And worked beautifully. And free shipping!
Just a thought.
by the way I bought also this DOCK. It's free shipping also, and cheapest on the market.
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.34205

This dock is linked on the previous page for a couple of bucks less.... very funny dealextreme listing though... got me laughing... "AC/USB powered design brings more convenient" LOL

Haha

not sure why this thread got so much more attention, except maybe I used a bit more of a descriptive thread title.

Well the official dock is often sold with interchangeable inserts one for the normal battery and one for the (im assuming official, when i comes out) extended battery
It has. Check the HTC Accessories site...

i will get the original cradle because of the great stylefactor. also the 3,5mm-jack is an argument for that cradle for those who need it.
the shop where i can order it wants 32€, way too much in my opinion, i will have to wait for cheaper times
it does seem too much in my opinion

External battery charger

Can anyone recommend a decent external charger for the Desire HD battery? Thinking of getting a spare battery but want a way of charging outside the phone.
Cheers.

Yeah, you can usually find these things on eBay for pennies. Maybe in a week or two...
I have one of these that I occasionally use for my G1. It isnt amazing and charges very slowly, but with a high quality battery it should help a little on the go!

Do not you think a direct charger like Energizer XP8000 instead of externa battery charger?

Ok I'm in as well
i found this one
ebay Item number: 120640014972 (new users aka me cannot post external links )
which is a battery powered portable charger rated at 5000maH and charges the battery in the phone.
that battery cover worries me so i dont want to have to open it too often. also it means you dont have to wait for the device to reboot. not sure how accurate that 5000mah is, but i should be able to fit that and my phone in my pocket for a couple of hours to charge.
not ideal, but i dont trust non-brand batteries, especially if im importing them from china since i have no legal comeback if it explodes in my phone because they are not a UK company.
This is the link -
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....e-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1#ht_2465wt_1139
It does look really good actually. I like that you can charge two devices at one too. Anyone have any experience of these? I think I'll order one...
Mobilefun do one for around £20 that docks the phone and has a slot for a spare battery to charge aswell. Not in stock last I looked, but ill be buying one of those.

wow that looks really good, it even comes WITH a Battery! hmmm tempted.... nice to have a spare battery but so far these days my battery lasts me the whole day which is all i need... always a good idea to have a spare though
I'm not certain whether that offer is really outstanding...
The battery is sold seperately for 7-8 USD (shipped), the charger is one of those that you'll get for almost nothing. That leaves 18-20 USD for the Dock.
Not too expensive for a dock but for this amount I'll think twice about a purchase.

Battery goes in upsidedown (versus what the stock battery looks like. Still 1300 mAh.
Base doesn't lean back as much as I thought it would. This definitely works with the T-Mobile HTC G2. Using the battery right now. Used the dock to charge same battery and connect to the computer to download the photos.

Well, the mugen battery is 40$ new.You offer a used one, which automatically cuts the price twice.Knowing its a battery, which is comsumed by usage and time, and becomes worse and worse,i think your reaction is not apropriate.
Except for what i said,i just made an offer,i think its enough of you to say "yes" or "no",comments like yours are kinda offending.

the battery and back case is hard to tell hoe thick from the pictures, I'm guessing its 1/4" thicker than stock. no additional protection to the camera lens over stock, other than the shelf the extended case provides. it feels heavier, bit easier to hold than with the tiny stock battery case.
the mt4gs is nearing end of life for development, so ill use it until its damaged, then upgrade .
charged well, and then started it up yesterday morning around 6am. I'm now at 29%, with almost 31hours of use. yes, the graph is wrong, as I plugged it in to transfer 15-20 pictures to the Mac for however long that takes. that USB port is 1.1, so if you really want to figure how much juice it received, figure about 3 minutes plugged in....
the majority of time the phone had wifi and 3g/edge on, with poor reception.
this is virtuous v 1.3 and Gmail, contacts, calendar and g+ photos syncing running at 1.3ghz, "on demand" throttling.
again, currently I'm at 29% after 31hours.
A link of the battery, Back cover if any and a picture of the battery itself is a must if you want to share the info here with us.
Posting a screenshot of your phone's battery graph only and not even having the right values you stated won't be of any use for us.

can't make the screenshot right, but my information corrected it. updated first post with screenshots and direct amazon link.
OK, I'm at 3%, after 35 hours , with no attempts at conserving at all. I've shot video, surfed, txt, all normal operations. with some simple conservation, I could squeeze 2 days easily. 3 would mean using airplane mode, or edge. this will be great for motocamping.
I would never be able to have a battery that thick for my phone, but cheers for the battery life
