new sense - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Since the droid just got the new sense would that make it easier for us to get it seeing as the are both CDMA

i just saw this on engadget
sense ui looks soooo nice on the droid's hi-res screen.

There is a chance that it will be the new Sense on the Android 2.2 upgrade due "in early 2Q 2010" but Sprnt is being tight-lipped. So who knows?

It is the sense we will get with 2.1 HTC already said that the new sense will go to all hero line phones I ment to port it!

I'm mad now the was basically left in the dust the day it came out . We were special with Sense UI, but now we are not .

Multitouch in Hero

HTC has announced that Hero will include multitouch support. Since much of their Sense UI is hacked onto Android, this makes me wonder:
Are they exposing an actual multitouch API for Android developers, or are they overloading an unused property (e.g. MotionEvent.size) like Luke Hatch's homebrew multitouch does?
idk
but whatever htc did ..it looks awsome..the ui on hero when its full speed is soo stunning and the mutlitouch is so smooth
Is "full speed" acheivable on a Magic?
Do you guys think its possible to port the rom over to magic? and get the upgraded UI?
Thanks
there is a port
from nk02 but its a little buggy and alot of the features are missing but htc said theyre gonna make the updates available to htc devices running android..so if you plan on getting that samsung youre sol if you want rosie..that is until the brilliant minds here port it

Some magics (vodafone branded ones) have less RAM than the hero.
HTC's CEO stated that they're going to slap the sense UI on an existing HTC, which will probably be the sapphire
actually if you flash the nk02 hero rom
it has multitouch
HTC has announced that the sense UI WON'T be avaliable to t-mobile and vodafone users since the whole google issue they have, they didnt say anything about the "other" htc branded phones like rogers but m assuming updates will be avaliable to those.

Once the Hero is out, we'll have it on our device.. no needs to wait for "official" HTC releases for the Google's branded phones, this is XDA-developers!
I cant help but feel that I have been somewhat cheated by Vodafone for the less ram issue, they pulled a fast one on us. If this is what stands between me and the new Sense UI, then i can tell you that we have not only been robbed by Vodafone but by HTC as well. With the money I spent on this phone, the new Ui is the least they can do.

Petition For Sense 3.0

http://www.groubal.com/bring-htc-se...-such-as-the-desire-hd-and-others/#signatures
This is a community petition to request Sense 3.0 on older devices, I hope that we get a lot of people to sign this petition, please spread the word!
I hate Sense with a passion. But I will sign the patition because sense 3.0 is kinda cool and I plan on porting a 3.0 rom.

Saw a review on the sensation and they said that sense 3.0 offers a minimal update and is not anything you would expect as an update after such a long time. It's pretty much going from Froyo to Gingerbread... barely anything different just little noticeable things. Point is I wouldn't get your hopes up about the quality of 3.0.

I disagree. Sense 3.0 is a huge update over previous versions of Sense. Coming from a Desire HD port, 3.0 has a lot of improvements and cool features.
used sense 3.0, then tried to switch back to stock. impossible.

Is that surprising? The pros/cons of the various UIs have always been debated. Clearly a lot of people agree with me because, as I'm sure you've noticed, Sense has quite a following.

You are mistaken at what I am saying. This is not sense bashing. THis is stating that the improvement to sense is lackluster after such a long time between updates. I like sense and have always been a supporter of it. My point is sense 3.0 is not a big jump over 2.1 and definitely not enough to make me want to buy a new phone just because it has 3.0.
Both articles I read eliminated the debate on Sense Vs. Touchwiz Vs. blah blah blah. It was purely a review on the merit of the update.

if you've ran the virtuous fusion rom you would see that sense 3.0 does offer some pretty big changes over sense 2.1, so maybe quit reading biased reviews and start experiencing the stuff for yourself?

This. BGR would lower the score to a 2/5.
I've run plenty of Sense roms as far back as the old Hero roms on my G1, Sense 3.0 doesn't fundamentally change the ui, but it does add quite a bit of features that improve it, from the active lockscreen to the notification toggles for wifi/bluetooth/etc. I'm really liking Virtuous Fusion.

+1. Sense 3.0 rocks. Makes me forget about ever having owned an iPhone. And if I want to remember, I'll just run MIUI which is still way better!
I just had to chime in here for a min. I have a sensation and my wife has a mt4g. New sense and old sense. The differences are big enough. Just set them side by side and look.
There is no point to petition for Sense 3.0
The Stock ROM is Laggy and couldn't believe I used it for 3 months before unlocking/Rooting my phone.
There are better options Virtuous ROM is Sense 3.0 and can't wait to see Virtuous Unity.
Personally I actually like 2.1 Sense (minus the lagg), just miss it. Sense 3.0 just feels way too different and was a bit let down. It actually turned me off from getting the Sensation.
The new devs on the Virtuous is really exciting and can't wait to see what they cook up.
Thread says unity is up now

How about just make it consumer choice and just make the warranty not void when loading a rom of our choice... Used to be a big aosp believer but recently fell in love with sense, just not mysense. Even learned to love miui. I use all 3 in rotation throughout the week. Htc is starting to support and encourage devs and the community. Fix the warranty restriction with rooting and we shall all be peachy

Ginger Bread doesn't necessarily mean Sense 3.0

Ginger Bread doesn't necessarily mean Sense 3.0
I think people are seeing sense 3.0 and confusing it with GB 2.3.4
Most likely won't be in the OEM GB release
possibly an addon ??
but you will most likely have to root to get any Sense 3.0 features.
The GB update has sense 2.1. HTC made it pretty clear they are not going to update existing phones to sense 3.0.

[Q] Is Sense 3.5 coming too for Sensation?

Hey i have a question.. is the new sense 3.5 coming too for the HTC Sensation?
As it's aimed at lesser powered devices I'd say no but you never know
Surely it must work, I wish I knew how to resize the files from the new DHD rom and try to port it over.
Yeah, just seen the DHD Bliss-based ROM. Ideally we'd need to wait for another qHD device to be released to get it. Or that new 4.5"-screened HTC Android phone announced recently (like the Titan)

maybe the revamped sensation will have it, but it wont really matter to me because i like senseless better
It is, but I'm sure I've heard there's gonna be another Android handset the same size. Could be wrong, mind
EDIT: The Holiday is 4.5" but leaks so far show Sense 3.0
The only thing I'm interested from in Sense 3.5 is the new Notes widget. That looks slick.
of course it will come out
Yeah, I'm sure it will come out, we have an excelent development team here
Most likely
What files would er need to port and how do you resize them to fit sensation ? I know that the HTC apks are needed but what other files are needed......libs etc?

HTC Sensation/XE users, if you wants to have a look at the Sense 4.0 ROM leak from HTC Endeavour (RUU), please try this ROM by TripNRaVeR HERE. But its wayy to buggy! Definitely not a daily driver, but amazing work by the Dev!
Watch the Video of the ROM linked above, HERE
HTC haven't confirmed what phone will get ICS and when!
So far, HTC Sensation/XE, HTC Evo 3D, and a few others have been confirmed.
No idea about the HTC Evo 4g, HTC Desire HD and Droid Incredible!
Thought, the new line of HTC phone from 2011 will get ICS by the end of Q3!
- BE SURE TO HIT THANKS!
More updates coming.
Intersting... Thank u
Let me summarize Sense 4.0 for those who arent sure. As you can see from the post above HTC has added even more useless "features" into the next release of Sense. It will be even more bloated, take up far more memory, and suck your battery dry faster than ever! In addition it will have lots a stupid animations that will enable you to impress little children. The worst part of it will be that Sense 4.0 will negate most of the benefits of pure ICS by layering on hot steamy piles of horse sh*t! The good news is that with Google requiring all future Android phones meet a certain standard, we will see less and less of these "enhancements" being added by manufactures and carriers. This will help stop the fracturing of Android and make it easier for developers to make apps that work across the entire platform. In addition, now that Google owns the division of Motorola that makes Android phones we will soon have a number of proper Android devices to choose from. People looking for pointless "features" and "eye candy" will still be able to get their fix of course; except going forward it will come with piece of fruit on the back of the device.

That's so true! Sense 4.0 is gonna be a 500+ MB update.
The problem is, they add more and more, keeps stacking. Which makes it bloated..
They should start over again. Its just MENU AFTER MENU AFTER MENU!

They dont need to start over, they need to hit DELETE and stop producing garbage like Sense. They should focus on producing solid hardware like they used to, and rely on the STANDARD ICS build developed by Google. a 500mb updated??? Jesus Tap Dancing Christ thats a whole lotta crap!

Ermm...source for Sense 4.0 preview? Android 4.x surely?
As far as I'm aware the preview is for Sense 3.5(6?) and will only be open to selected (or more likely those who have an Sensation/XE) members of the Elevate program or HTC Developers in Europe.
Though I'd be quite happy to receive Sense 4.0 ahead of the One X!
Yeah, we already know about this. It's NOT Sense 4.0 but at some point in the next week a few in the HTC Elevate programme will get to receive the ICS OTA. It's NOT started yet

BUT
There was no official announcement from HTC that we will get Snese 4.0 , Questions asked to HTC via Twitter and Facebook regarding 4.0 were ignored.
Yes they gonna talk about Sense at MWC but that doesn't mean it will come to Sensation , most likely its for Ville and Endeavor only. Maybe we will get it this fall.
