I have full functionality except the touch screen which means i can open the device and use the keyboard to do almost everything. I can get to the point to type an SMS but is there a shortcut key to send it? Since I cant touch send on the screen I have no idea how to send it
No. The only way is to install an application called "VirtuaMouse" and use the arrow keys to move the pointer to the left "send" softkey. you then just press "enter" on the keyboard or the round action button to send the SMS.

for those who use on-screen keyboard on devices such as HTC Touch, the "send" button is very close to the lower side of the keyboard and it sometimes happen that I accidentally press "send" before I finish composing a message is there a way to either set a timer on the button (i.e. having to press it for 200 ms in order to send the message) ?
also, is there a way to delete all sent sms without emptying the inbox (apart from selecting all messages and pressing delete, of course...) ?

I don't think there is.. sorry. Its actually a pretty good idea cause I do that a lot too on my Tilt
ok to avoid this problem, i now use Pocket CM which is pretty good (except for a few bugs to be ironed out in next release), it requires a 250 ms "send"press
and by the way, if you want to empty only one of your sms folders ("sent" for exemple) without clearing the inbox, go get "inbox extender" at MoDaCo !
Is there any way to enable confirmation message box when I click the left "Send" soft key on the display?
This can happen accidentaly because "Send" button is located just under the T9 button on the HTC Numeric Keyboard and I really don't want to send empty or incomplete messages...
Thank You
Hi
I would like to change the messaging key on the keyboard so that pressing it opens a new message, rather than the inbox. Is this possible?
I have the new message shortcut, so all I need to be able to do is assign a hardware keyboard button to open a different program, ie the new message shortcut.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I use AEBplus for exactly this!
google AEBplus and you'll get it - occasionally (and i'm not sure why) pressing the button only gets as far as the messaging menu, but pressing again starts a new message.
you'll need to "create" the button in AEB (set it to map, and press what you want) - its button #00EF mapped to run application tmail with optional parameters -service "SMS" -To ""
(i tried mapping it to call a shortcut with the same link syntax - but that kept failing, and also had tried calling the service [not the exe] which again worked as a shortcut, but not when mapped)
Hope it helps!

2 options, use the directional buttons around the enter key, or install virtual mouse.
The directional buttons don't allow you to navigate to the 'Send' button unfortunately. At least, not that I have been able to do. I can navigate most other places with them though.
I will look into using virutal mouse tonight. Thanks.
I have the UK version - so i may be wrong here. Isnt there a txt key on the slide out keyboard?
Failing that, bind a key using something like AEB (remap button pushes) or gscroll (use the capacative touch on the buttons) - you can google them both!
And if you have trouble mapping to "create new txt" send me a pm and i'll walk you through it!
Does anyone know of any browsers that either have the ability to "bind" keys, or have directional buttons?
What I need to do is mimic the left and right arrow keys found on a normal keyboard.
I know there are a few keyboard apps that have these, but the problem is the page I need to use this on doesnt have a text box so the keyboard 1. does not pop up, and 2. does not interpret the arrows correctly.
Basically the page Im trying to do this on is a flash based page where you press either the left or right arrow key to get your next assignment. There are no visual "next" and "back" buttons on the page, which is making this really hard!
I just tried this app, and set my search key to "dpad left" and it didnt work in the browser... Maybe its not possible, idk.
Can someone please help me?
