radio 2.22.23.02 which engineering SPL and Recovery? - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

if i were to extract the radio image from the tmobile ota update from the DMD64 ota file,
and flash it to my mytouch3g that is currently on 1.33.2005 engineering with cyanogen recovery1.4 using adb... would it reboot fine? or which engineering spl should i update to after the radio flash using the cm-recovery or should it be amonRa's recovery in order for this to work right?...
any insight... just trying to keep the radio to the newest for tmobiles network speed....

What's your exact phone specs?
Can be found on the Fastboot screen (Back + Power)
For example the information you see in my signature.

sapphire pvt 32b end s-off h
hboot-1.33.2005 (sapp30000)
cpld-10
radio-2.22.19.26i
apr20,2009 15:30:43
ive updated to the radio i speak about b4 but only going about it without custom recovery only the standard and using the opal- updatefiles and renaming them to update each time
like
coc10 to drc92
then
drc92 to dmd64
and my signal and os were running excellent but not rooted
thats why i wonderd if i could go about it thisway using adb and fastboot and whatnot.

I'm not sure about 1.33.2005, need to check what Hboot is inside DRC92-update, according info what DMD64 is update from DRC92.
I explored DMD64 update - there is no new Hboot - only radio, recovery and other files.
My two cents (i didn't say "yes" or "no")
p.s. found this, it seems like T-Mobile installed SPL 1.33.0007 into new regular MT3G (I bought mine in october 2009, SPL was 1.33.0006)

Downgrading firmware on Rogers magic?

Hi, i accidentally installed the august 29 update on my rogers magic, and now my phone has a perfected spl. I don't really want to void my 3 year warranty or brick my phone by downgrading to an engineering spl. Is there any way just to downgrade using an old rom update?
:Also i was searching and i couldn't find a straight answer on whether or not a custom rom will install on a perfected non rooted phone
anyone have any ideas?
I am by no means an expert on this, but I did have a Rogers Magic with the perfected SPL ,
Code:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0010 (SAPP50000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Jun 2 2009, 17:28:28
And my only solution was the Gold Card method, which worked. I am now running the 1.3.0010 ENG one.
My phone already shipped with the perfected SPL (as shown above), but I had not applied the HTC/Rogers download patch, which puts on the Perfected SPL for older phones.
Do the gold card, get the ENG spl on, after that, pick and dump on your rom of choice. Try not to "accidentally" install any more Rogers Updates

thanks i ordered a kingston 2 gb card yesterday to use as a goldcard. I didn't exactly accidentally install the update, i just didn't know that it would install a perfected spl onto my phone.

PVT 32B eng s-off H - which recovery image do i use? [solved]

I was having trouble flashing roms so I used a vodafone uk nandroid image and now I have lost root access.
Checking on my fastboot, it has changed from:
PVT 32B ship s-on G
to:
PVT 32B eng s-off H
Presumably because I have flashed crios eng spl.
So my question is, "s-off H" is found on 32A HTC branded devices, and my phone is a 32B Google branded. So what amon ra recovery should I use?
im assuming because its a 32B board i should use the G version not H.
Am I correct?
Have you tried fastbooting the recovery to see which will boot up?
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Edit:
Check out this thread - sounds like a similar problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584574
Thanks brook, but unlike the guy in the other thread, my radio hasnt changed. My radio a .261 and his is a .17.
He has a 32A spl and 32A radio on a 32B board. Mine has 32B radio and board, but a 32A spl.
Again im assuming i can just use flashrec and flash amon ras G branded recovery?
yea, i have the same, 32b with s-off H, and i'm using ra 1.3.2G with no issues, my spl is 1.33.2010

last radio firmware for cyanogenmod 4.2.12.2 on 32a

Hello i've
Sapphire PVT 32A
HBOOT-1.33.2005
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
i want to know what is last radio firmware that runs on my phone with cyanogenmod 4.2.12.2 rom.
cyanogen think it solves my 3g disconnection problem. It writes me:
3g data disconnection
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=984
Please try re-flashing the current radio for your device, even if it's
already at 2.22.19.26i (for 32b) download the top file here:
http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/ flash it like a normal
update.zip, reboot to see the box->phone, and reboot again once it dumps
you back in recovery. I'm not sure if it's crappy EEPROMS or what, but
re-flashing the radio has been shown to fix bt/gps/wifi/3g/audio/etc. issues.
There is a newest radio for 32A... Remember that Cyanogen does the CM for 32B devices so he actually answered your question regarding that device...
Well here's the latest radio for the 32A devices and the instruction to install it...
RADIO 3.22.23.18:
http://www.4shared.com/file/176873890/399c9312/Radio_HTC_PVT_32A_3222318.html
In fastboot you have to put this commands:
fastboot devices (to check if your device is recognized)
fastboot flash radio *\radio.img (*= path of the Radio.img file)
Remember that you have to use the same name of the radio.img file (You can rename it for an easy way to install it)

correct me if i am wrong but that radio needs the new spl to work. and by installing both spl and radio, CM wont work.
I think I might have some issues with the radio (described here)
What is the latest radio version for my SPL?
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP10000)

Nope... Never had that problem...

Stuck with Vodafone 32B root (1.33.0007)

Hi
Been trying to root my uk vodafone 32b magic today, which was originally on a perfected 1.33.0007 spl. I followed guides over at unlockr.com to use a goldcard to flash the danger spl of 1.33.2005, which has worked, but im stuck beyond that. I can boot the recovery image (have to use the H version now as my phone now shows itself as an H/32A on the fastboot screen), but when i update to the cyanogen mod the phone freezes on the splash screen.
It just sticks at the vodafone logo following applying the two zip files. Is it anything to do with flashing the danger spl and the device now has the 32A stuff on it (i.e. it shows as 32B ENG S-OFF H now rather than G).
The infor on the fastboot screen is now as follows:
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32B ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT - 1.33.2005 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO - 3.22.20.17
If anyone could give exact instructions on what i need to do i would much appreciate it..... im not sure whether i need to flash 32B radios or what...
Thanks in advance!
You need to flash a 32A/EBI1 port because your radio is 3.22.20.17.
Your UK vodafone came with that radio?

Help with rooting Magic 32B

Hi there,
I have been reading abit on gaining root access on this phone and here is my progress so far:
I have a Vodafone New Zealand HTC Magic 32B running Android v1.6 with the following SPL in the fastboot screen:
sapphire unknown 32b ship s-on g
hboot-1.33.0007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.19.26I
Jul 31 2009,15:49:25
I have managed to create a goldcard and apply this engineering spl (Engineerings SPL v1.33.2010 - ROM v2.53.707.2) by Amon_RA in hboot.
After rebooting, the splashscreen has changed to HTC and I now have Android v1.5. Everything went well, so I thought until I went back to fastboot to check on the SPL
sapphire pvt 32b eng s-off h
hboot-1.33.2010 (sapp10000)
cpld-10
radio-3.22.20.17
jun 2 2009,17:27:03
As you can see it is now s-off h where it should be g?
And the radio is now 3.22.20.17.
I understand I have messed up by applying the wrong SPL. I tried to fastboot "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img", it hangs at the HTC magic splashscreen.
My questions:
What should one do to obtain s-off g and the appropriate radio?
Should one:
apply a different SPL, say 1.33.2004? < I think this is a google phone engineering SPL?
Or:
Change the radio following Amon_RA Revert to 32B Radio and ROM instructions?
The whole point of me gaining root access is to store applications on the sdcard and have a clean fast ROM.
Thank you all for your help.
p.s. Please feel free to move this thread to the appropriate forum if I have posted it wrongly.
use the 1.33.2005 engineering SPL (it says here)
Thanks for your reply excogitation.
I have managed to downgrade the radio back to 2.22.19.26I using Amon_RA method. Here is the latest HBOOT info:
sapphire pvt 32b eng s-off h
hboot-1.33.2010 (sapp10000)
cpld-10
RADIO-2.22.19.261
jun 2 2009,17:27:03
I am running Amon_RA custom ROM at the moment and it is asking me to activate my T-mobile myTouch 3G phone. Now I could not use gmail because I could not activate via a t-mobile sim card.
Under Settings > About phone > Model number = T-Mobile mytouch 3G
Is there any way I could change this Amon_RA to a vodafone base? or is there anyway to activate google account via wifi like it was in Vodafone?
Thanks for your help!
Update #2
After turning off and on the phone. I am able to log onto google via wifi
Amon_RA custom ROM is fast! I am enjoying the clean v1.6 android. Way faster than the stock ROM.
Perhaps later I will try Cyanogen ROM
Thanks Amon_RA for the awesome rom!
One more question:
If I ever need to send the phone back to Vodafone - how do I revert back to the stock ROM and SPL?
flash the stock rom (either from your backup or search the web),
flash the stock splash if you have a custom one by then,
flash the perfect SPL back.
That should be it.
