Hi guys!
I started to create my own roms about a month ago. First I added only one little program to learn how to cook roms and how everything works. I went on and added some registrytweaks and still everything went fine.
But since yesterday my phone (or my stupidity?) is driving me crazy...
I grabbed a copy of .mUns ROM (thanks for your great work! [I use this rom only for own use]) and dumped its content.
The first thing I did was removing some apps which I never use. For example the Autoupdate. Then I added several applicationfiles into the dump directory, changed some registry values and finally edited the initflashfiles.dat file. I build my rom and flashed it.
Normally the phone shows the welcome screen with the text "Tap the screen to start....." after the first boot. But right now it doesn't show this text to me... I just see the welcome screen without any text... and right here I'm stuck and I don't know why!
Is there a problem with my initflashfiles.dat or are there some wrong values in the registry?
Please try to help me. I checked the initflashfiles.dat and registryfiles several times but couldn't find any problems...

PS: If there's someone who wants to check the files, just tell me and I'll upload them.
1) did you remove 2 bytes from iniflashfiles.dat?
2) probably you've deleted something usefull
3) did you edit hv files correctly?
1) yes, I did it with WinHEX
2) I think I didn't, because I deleted the same files as I did with other Roms
3) Yes... Last line blank and Unicode. DO they need to be read-only?
Any other suggestions?
I'm just about to throw my wizard out of the windows... :-/
I got it...
I don't know how, but I got it

Hello again all. I have two questions, first should be pretty easy. Does anyone know how to extract the picture from the splash.nb that is in the root instructions or anywhere I can download a standard picture of the default mt3g splash screen for editing.
Also can we use the same g1splash application to convert or is there some other process that we will need to do to make a splash for this device. Thanks in advance.
Oh come on lol somebody has to know.
got this page by using the SEARCH Function,Hopefully next time you will do the same.

you know i asked the same question, and the link you post, just like every other smart ass answer i got, is to create a splash image from an existing image, NOT to extract the one from the splash.nb. so before you flame someone, make sure you understand the question.
TheArtizan: im trying to find out the same thing, and once i get that damn mytouch splash out of there, ill make sure you get a copy of it.
It gives you advice to make your own all i did was show you wehere advice is to make your own.Sureley you can find the original image and edit it yourself.
EDIT
If i had noticed it was artizan that asked the question i wouldnt have bothered replying as his knowledge is far more extensive than my own
there are some pictures of the mytouch booting at the splash screen but the splash itself only exists as an .nb hence he wanted to know how to extract the .nb, unfortunately there is still not an answer to that question.
DID IT!
ok, here is how to get the splash out of that damn nb file...
download the attached nbimg
extract the exe to somewhere, open command prompt and run the following
nbimg.exe -F Splash.nb -w 320 -h 480
voila! you have one mytouch splash.bmp....
i have also attached the splash, for those who dont want to extract....
I accidentally deleted all the files in windows lock screen folder and now the only lock screen I get is the old windows lock screen. Would anyone happen to have the original files that belong in the lockscreen folder?
Thanks a bunch.
Guys,
I just made the move from a 3GS to the Galaxy 4G, and need to install 2 custom fonts, that i created, on the phone.
On the iphone, i was able to add the files to the fonts folder, and change an XML file to make it work...how do i do that on this phone?
Thanks.
Anyone???
I managed to add my font files to the font folder, on the phone...fonts are still not showing up right. What do i need to do to have the phone recognize the new installed files?
Am i posting in the wrong forum?
What i am asking is impossible to do??
No one around here wants to help???
I'd like to help, but I have no idea how.
A quick Google search found this, though.
Severals times i wanted to save a wallpaper from a rom and i never find where they are located in the system files. Somebody knows where i can find them?
