Can you make the digits look like license plate numbers? So each digit would look like a singular plaque.

I really donĀ“t know what do you mean exactly Can you make one number example?
I am referring to the design. Like the black number, smudged, on a white piece of plate.
Do I make any sense?

There's a LOT of variable there, like texture and what it's made of. But, I have an idea... I don't know how cheap it is, but trucking companies have been plastering their rides with graphics for years. I'd try to find one of the companies that does those trucks or "wrap your vehicle in company BS" vinyls and see if they can do it. They stuff they use is nigh impossible to remove and is pretty rugged (trucking companies use heat guns to remove it). The only other option I can think of would be a screening process, but that would call for custom screens for every color and is usually only done for mass production.
Just my thoughts...
I am trying to replace the LCD screen on a 4G slide and I see there are two versions, a Sony and a Hitachi. The problem is that the part number on the broken screen doesn't match the part number of the Sony or Hitachi. I'm not sure what to do. I've Googled the part number on the broken screen and don't get any results. Has anyone seen LCD's other than the normal Sony and Hitachi? Maybe someone has a resource that would know which manufacturer this part number belongs to? The part number is: 83H00434-00. The serial number starts with: 2A4A. An y help or advice is greatly appreaciated.
Thanks,
Ed

In my post I pasted the kernel source that references the screen - maybe Sharp made a screen?
There was also this one:

Pretty sure those are the only threads we have on lcd stuff, excepting that awesome guide on how to replace it that was posted.
Anything recent, though, definitely could have slipped my notice.

MAN.....is it ever great to have you back Blue!!
Thanks for the info. I did look through both of those posts previously. I do see the Sharp referenced in the kernel code you posted, but I can't find any reference to there being one available for the 4G slide. Maybe I'll try and order the Sony first and see if it works. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong part number...I'm getting it from the silver backing that holds the screen. I'm pretty sure that's the right place. There isn't a part number anywhere on the screen itself, back of screen or ribbon cables that I could see. I guess I can match it up by appearance since the Sony version has that extra line on it and then go from there. I'd hate to waste money and order one that isn't going to work though. I have attached images of the screen and the silver backing in case anyone can see something I'm not.
This phone is an absolute nightmare to take apart without damaging the screen and now I have an LCD screen that doesn't match either of the available replacements. I've taken apart and replaced digitizers and screens (and other parts) on hundreds of phones and this one takes the cake. That sticky tape they use to hold the screen to the backing is insane. Luckily the LCD was already broken, because even with a heat gun and hair dryer I couldn't get the screen out without damaging it more. I definitely won't take on one of these again.
Sorry for the rant. I do appreciate the help and info and if anyone else might have any ideas of why I have a different LCD part number and what replacement I should get, I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Ed

+1 to that!
Yea, the Sharp thing is just theory, never heard about it but that's what was in kernel source so... Dunno, could be referencing something else entirely.
Also, Dillalade took pics when he tore the phone down in this post:

So, maybe you can see something that might help ya there, outside chance.
Never took one apart or got inside, so, limited help but if I can think of anything I'll toss it here.

I need to replace the hardware keyboard in the Q. Reason is the 'b' key doesnt click much anymore, it has almost no travel when typing on it. Where can I buy a genuine replacement? Is it also difficult to replace?
Please, let me know if you can.
here you go ;
http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-motorola-photon-q-4g-lte-xt897-qwerty-keypad.html
This will not help you... Photon Q's keyboard is build in such way that there are golden circles with golden dot inside - each button has its own. Then, on those golden pads, there is a sticky film with metal caps which, when you press, they connect the dot with the circle around it. So presumably the thing that got broken on your phone is either the metal cap (it can get worn...) or it somehow moved (rather impossible). So the thing you want to buy is the sticky film (white foil) with metal caps. If thats not it, then you need the motherboard...
If I didn't explain it clearly, check the photos, for example in Cornholio GSM hardware mod thread
Thanks for the advice. Indeed, I believe that's the problem. Where to find a replacement for that one?
I've seen those replacements for XT894, which is the same. Search for that one and you will find it on Ebay.

Thanks

on youtube is Photon q Disassembly video
someone still need a replacement?
i work in a wearhouse that have cooperations with Motorola.
we have a lot of spareparts but i never needed them for now.
iam not sure if we have xt897 replacement keyboard because its not released here.
and the letters and numbers on the keyboard are only sticker i think.
but i will ask
Hi there, the keyboard sticker with metal pads would be handy spares, but do you have access to the slider ribbons? These are a wearing part - the one that joins the screen to the base.
I'd like a few of those!

we have every little screw, rubber sealing or what ever. but iam the first of our company that asked to buy things intern.
some guys in our office need to contact motorola first and ask for permission. we will know more in a few days.
smoking weed can affect (mistake post)
Sounds good - I need 4x ribbons, 2x screens & digitizers, 3x batteries.
See what you can do - I'd take more if you can get it.

I have Gear 2 in orange color, is it possible to take the plastic part, dye it in, for example, green color, and put it back on watch?
I mean - has anybody done it?

I would probably take it to the those toy store where they paint small action figure, model train, plans and other stuff and get them to paint it.
you might be able to get some good design out of it, its just an idea havent tried it my self before.
also the bands are easily changeable so you might find a band that you might want to get the pattern copied from.
good luck post your results if you go with this idea.
Is it possible to change the whole colour. I mean, change the colour means to replace three things.
1. Back Panel
2. Front Panel
3. Home button
I know it's kind of weird. But let's take a chance. I've been using the phone for 2 years, and i don't want to change it now.
But a colour change will be good, i thought.
Any suggestions. Help please

You can but it will be very costly, the whole front panel is all one piece so includes lcd and digitiser, they are all one part, the back and home button are the easier things, overall the cost versus handset value doesn't make it worth it.
@chriskabraham Use Vinyls! Either from Dbrand or Slickwraps. Slickwraps also offers vinyls for the metal body.
As above, cheaper and easier using vinyls plus you've got a lot more choice, in fact I'm using a carbon vinyl on mine right now from debrand.
