[REQ] background pic shifting with tabs - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hello all,
I just watched a small video of the introduction of the Nexus 1 "Google phone":
http://www.nuvideo.nl/internet/34105/google-lanceert-supertelefoon.html
and saw a nice feature: the background shifts left and right as one swipes the screen left and right.
I'm thinking it would be some nice piece of eye candy to have a panoramic background picture that shifts left a bit when you scroll to the next tab in HTC's sense interface vice versa.
Anyone knows of an app or tweak that does this?

I saw this feature on spb shell 3.5
I suppose this would be a nice mod in conjunction with cookies home tab.

Not sure that sense would be able to produce the desired effect. When you press on the tab slider, a large icon overlay is displayed and obscures the background. Also, while sliding from left to right the previously selected tab remains visible (behind the overlay) until you release.

Awww, you're right ofcourse
OK how about this idea: what if we could define a background picture per tab? Not the same effect as in the movie I linked but still pretty awesomecookies!

Try Max Manila: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551489. I've not used it but it does mention BG4all(Background for all tabs) and more interestingly, Panoramic wallpapers?
Or this BG4all only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636887

Setting Position of Today Plugins?

Hi, does anyone know if there is a way to change where a today plugin sits? i have SPB Weather, and would like to have the today plugin at the bottom of my screen.
Cheers
start > settings > today > items
select the item, click on move up or down
hklm/software/microsoft/today/items/"name of plugin"
some plugins needs to have "type" changed from 4 to 5.. or from 5 to 4...to be moveable.
cheers guys, but I meant at the bottom of the screen, not just the bottom of the today icons I want a gap in the middle between the icons.

you can use spacer today plugin.. its a tranparent plugin with customizable height.. you can put that between two today plugins..
excellent, cheers
The spacer plugin is decent but it annoys me how long it takes to redraw the screen during rotation, is there anything else out there, even a reg-edit or something?

[THEME] ADW graphical glitch

This post is for Anders, as it's the simplest place I can post the images for viewing.
When I select "dot paginator top," regardless of whether "show desktop indicator" is on or not, after using an application like camera, the icons are shifted over ever so slightly. The bottom icon tray strangely enough is not.
This is with versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.1.
Here are the screenshots. 1-3 show the graphical glitch.
Definitely with the beautiful widgets screen, it cuts off the right side. On the shot with the google search bar, the search bar itself is pushed over (it's usually centered perfectly). Same thing with the last image which has a switchpro widget.
The 4th one shows the normal screen with the google search bar. Comparing it with the first image, the icons get pushed slightly closer together and down to the right. I can't tell if they are shrunk any.
Again, this occurs not when ADW first loads, but after using certain programs. Camera is the one I can use to reproduce the bug each time.

Question for experienced Sense themers

I'm currently trying to theme the rounded lists found in apps like HTC Mail and People. From what I found, there's a transparent "mask" that makes up the top and bottom graphics -- it's basically what makes it round. The graphic is mostly transparent and only blocks out the corners to make them round. What I want to know is if the part that sits under that (meaning in actual use when the app is running) a simple white graphic file or a color setting found somewhere in some XML file.
It's weird because items towards the middle of a rounded list do have a graphic file (it's just a 1x1 white square) that makes up it's background. So I can make items in the middle of the list look good but that leaves the top and bottom (or if there's only 1-2 items on the list, the entire list) as simple white.
I really hope that theres a graphic I'm missing or else the lists are just gonna' have to stay simple and uninteresting.
I think I might know what you're talking about but I'm not sure. Can you post a screenshot to reference?
Check out THIS THREAD. The corners are square in the screenshot because he had the wrong png's in there, the 2.2 message boxes do have rounded corners. If that's what you're talking about then check rujelo's post.

[Q] What's a good wallpaper size?

I mean I know the resolution is 1280x800, but as you swipe between the homescreens the wallpaper moves in the background.
That suggests to me that its wider than 1280 pixels to fit over all screens.
So what would be a good resolution?
(I can start looking for pictures now, whilst i wait for the device )
The default_wallpaper.jpg file showing the tree and clouds is 2135 x 1408 pixels.

Thanks, but does that mean it is being squeezed horizontally? Or do it crop it?
Now it suddenly sounds confusing.
I'd assume it should be the same as the default one 2135x1408 as it has to be for both landscape and portrait, as well as scrolling side to side.

Ah yes, good point - it has to work in both modes - it just makes it harder for the end user to get the focus of the picture in picture so to speak.
Oh well, I guess its a minor problem
Is it just me or when I try and take a picture from my Gallery and use it as a Wallpaper no matter how big I make the crop box it still kind of zooms in when its set as the wallpaper?
Also when you go to change the wallpaper you have a Wallpaper section but how do you put new wallpapers into this section as it doesn't come up when connected to the pc?
Depending on how its implemented...i would say its a 2:1 ration that being x:y respectively. so w/e that is with the stock res would be what u want. ... 1600x1200?
You could just do the largest of the screen res for both x and y. 1280 x 1280 would cover the background in either landscape or portrait.

But you also want to scroll between your homescreens. And a 1280x1280 resolution would not make this any beautiful experience
if the app wallpaper set and save works then use that and take a native resolution wallpaper (same as stock). I use this app on my galaxy s and sets the picture perfectly where as the galaxy s makes a right hash of it
I have a picture where I want to show most of the picture as the bit I want to show on the homesecreen is in the middle right of the picture, but no matter how I crop it always zooms in too much and cuts off half the detail I want. I was thinking of adding some black bars to the top and bottom of the pic, as hopefully it would zoom out a bit then and the only time you'd see the black bars is when the wallpaper scrolls 'up' like when you press and hold the desktop to get to the widget menu.

If that works, perhaps you could make a short of template of that and share it with us
Sometimes wallpapers differ on each device due to screen Resolution
So i would suggest that you find your devices resolution by taking a Screenshot and checking the Screenshot.png dimensions
Suppose its 720x1280 , now multiply the width x 3 (depending on number of homescreens) , the new dimensions are2160x1280
So now you can have an idea of what size of wallpaper you should be looking for, for being precise you can calculate the ratio also .

aspect ratio

When. using certain apps on my TF they are super blury or way too big and also the opposite smaller picture etc...is there anyway to get everything too fill/fit in the screeen HD
Sent from my ROOTED Incredible 2.
they are made for phones and all of the textures are bitmaps not vectors so they don't scale well there is currently no way to make it fit properly
for apps that aren't designed for honeycomb a icon (four arrows pointing away from each other) should show up in the status bar in the bottom right. Tap that and select 'stretch to fill screen'.
