[ROM]mycyEclair-1.2.3 Chocolate or Vanilla

This is a rom I built for myself from cyanogens eclair branch in github.
The kernel is from his github as well w/ the ramhack applied.
Dream only.
Camera does not work. I saw there is a fix but haven't looked at it yet, I don't even use the camera.
Try if you like but Flash at your own risk.
I neither take the credit nor the blame.
None of the work is mine.
First boot takes a bit to settle.
You should probably wipe first.

he said they were just for looks. however, i wouldnt consider flashing this until teh OP gets a CHANGELOG, CAMERA DRIVERS, and a little assurance that this is at least SEMI STABLE, because from reading the first post, i am 100 percent sure it is not stable.

that battery is ugly, no offense, just not my taste

This rom is fast...its almost stock, except for the look, but all apps are stock..took like 6 or 7 mins to flash and boot the first time.
First weird thing i noticed: For some reason, in some places (like the time on the Notification bar or in the Lockscreen) its showing some weird square symbols.
Synchronization seems to work fine...at least Google contacts...Wifi seems to works fine.
Lockscreen is the rounded one, not the stock Eclair, wich i like more.
Multitouch works weird on the stock browser, but seems to work fine with Dolphin Browser.
When i try to send a SMS with the stock app, it FC.
No camera, its show a blank square, and when you hit "Settings" it FC.
Voice Search FC and Voice Dialer dont work, it dosnt FC tought.
Dosnt have live Wallpaper. 3D apps sucks (as always )
But still, its a FAST rom...not sluggish at all, thats a strong point...and its safe to flash.
I like look, the blue its a little bit too dark and sometimes you can get confused sometimes plus there are some mess up with the letters and background colors. Love the Bootscreen XD.
Tested the Chocolate version of the rom.
Overall look:
Fast and Stable rom, yet lots of things to work, but if he keeps this speed, its going to be a great rom.
For Daily use...i would say NO right now, but when he fix at least the characters mess up, it could be a daily use rom with limitations.

Are you planning on maintaining this rom or is this a one-off venture for you? I love how you and daproy whip out 10mb hacks for CM roms, you kinda made a name for yourself already so I wouldn't mind sticking with this, if there will be updates and refinements.
At any rate.. thanks for your contributions to Android community.

I will maintain it somewhat as long as I'm using it. Not really sure, cause really I'm just doing it to learn and have fun. I
As to the force closes and box characters, I'm not really sure, its not happening to me.

Weird, i did a full wipe before flashing the rom...

i was enjoying the very nice and complete theme on chocolate, however i recently switched to hero_over's manup redo. very fast.

upgraded to 2.1

why doesnt chocolate 1.2.1 flash.. i love this rom.. my favorite, no problems but 1.2.1 wont flash..

You can try 1.2.2 but any info besides "won't flash" might be useful.

I have some questions:
When you say "vanilla" do you mean stock or is it another theme. Have any screenshots?
Have you fixed the camera issue yet?
How many icon columns in the launcher? 4 or 5?

{ROM} OpenRemix v1.0.0 Beta - Modded OE :) - Has Jit enabled

Reason there is hardly anything at moment is because I have had problems with compiling XD Bootloops -_- However in v1.0.0 Final there will be a lot of changes including options in spare parts and settings that are not in OpenEclair ^^

I can't find it? I found the Email app, but never use that one because of the inbuilt version.

Ok i misunderstood.

Until warez are taken out this will remain closed. OP please contact me when they are removed and I will reopen thread. Warez are not tolerated on xda.

XD the warez turned out to be a misunderstanding to do with RockOn as it used to be a paid app but no longer is and is now open source lol

Cheers all I did was add a new wallpaper and some good apk's and enables jit thank OpenEclair for most of it
Also everyone else download link will be back up in about 3 - 1/2 hours to 4 hours not at home at the moment

[ROM] Vega Legend Port v0.9.1

I've been playing a lot with Kings Eris ROM and decided to look at the Legend ROM as well to see how it goes.
As you probably know it's one of the latest 2.1 Sense UI ROMs, most things are working now.
Issues:
Power off doesn't work - fixed
Dark video - fixed, thanks to Case_
It seems HTC thinks no one would have more than 100 Facebook contacts... a little annoying - found a fix that worked for me, sync the 100 contacts, remove the facebook acount, restart and add it again, all my contacts are showing now.
Probably other things I haven't found yet
Requires ext and a large (at least 128mb) swap partition

But, what is the difference between the Eris 2.1 ROM, and this Legend one? I cant imagine it would be much different.. is this faster? More features?
I'm willing to flash anything with my Nexus coming Tuesday..

There's not too much different, with them both being 2.1 Sense, this has a slightly nicer theme IMO. And some things work better - like being able to hide sim contacts. Speed I'm not sure about though, it's possible this will end up being slightly slower, in which case I'll investigate the possibility of taking bits of both (I'm not too hopeful that will work though).

I will give it a try on my G1 when you get the beta ready
the Phone lag (for incoming calls) change from MP3 to OGG may sort that out.

Vegaman, if this is NOT using BFS (I noticed it helped even when it did, but oh well), I have MikeTaylor's setpriority.sh script handy and the way to implement it written into my brain (Hero used to be my main rom for months).

Yes it works very well. If it's the first call after running the script (I had the a2sd script run it at boot, so for me it was every boot), it will take two or three rings, but after that it will be consistently 1 or 2 with screen on, vibrating, and sounds.

Ok, thanks. I'll carry on testing it and some other things and leave it running overnight to make sure it's stable and hopefully I'll have time to upload it in the morning, assuming it all runs OK.

I've been using it without A2SD, but I'm uploading it with the a2sd script and userscript.conf reverted to normal. This ROM is big, I end up with 4MB free on my 90MB system partition. I've also left all of the apps in it, but I run it with a bunch removed myself (like footprints, stocks...).

The first step would be a log of your error... as you have said yourself: we don't have the bug. So very sorry...

The browser is crashing everytime I try to access it. Any ideas?
(also applies to any other apps accessing the internet such as Facebook, Myspace)

So I got the browser working by re-flashing the ROM. But now the Messaging app does not work after restoring backed up SMS.

I'm, sorry bro, I have been one of those complainers, but I have been doin to every RE_themed ROM, except your ROM has some tweaks and edits done by you, other guys are just Theming someone elses ROM, and basically called something else. Again I gotta say it, a theme is a personal choice, you might like a theme but joe blow and 60 others might not like that same theme. Personal opinion-- The font looks cool, but because of the size and restricted space on the phone, looks a bit cluttered.
I know I haven't cooked any roms and probably don't have that patience needed to do so, so my opinions are just that. Other than the font and a few added apps, it basically seems like a themed stock rom. That being said, it is a good start, and it is nice to see more people venturing into rom building.

same as well. Im running Virtual Box with linux and i run into errors opening a working folder for a rom. Not sure wtf to do from there since I keep running into errors. I tried a stock rooted rom and also one of OMJ's stock roms and kept running into supposedly update.zip errors... says cant fine file... tried renaming... no go. Any help would be appreciated but im willing to help you out on this ROM to the best of my ability. thx again for your work. Anyone that cooks a rom deserves credit and props IMHO. Have to learn somewhere. take care man.
EDIT: Flashing in a few hrs have to take care of some personal stuff at the house. Then I will get cracking and testing. thx

you should probably also zipalign it. seems like a pretty good stock rom. same as steelh's (which is the same as stock + deodexed) but with caulkin fixes. doesnt sound like testers are even needed.

some arguments seem to be boiling. lets stay on topic. this isnt the place to argue your points. give constructive criticism or dont post. no sense in bashing people for trying.

Thanks bro!! downloaded the newest version (is that the best one for me to use?) and will play with it tonight when I get off work. I had searched XDA for a kitchen before but must have overlooked it. If there is a certain version of the kitchen that is better than the newest one then let me know. I just figured that the newest one would have all the corrections necessary and extras that have been added. Thanks again!!
