Hey everyone just wondering if it would be possible for anyone to theme the genie widget to match the desire rom? Since modaco latest rom coming with this app, it is one of my favorite apps but it sticks out like a sore thumb using it with the Sense UI!
If this would be possible it would be really awesome and maybe modaco could include this version with his rom so everything matches!

I posted this one in the Desire rom thread. Just delete the .zip from it's name. I found this in the G1 forum a couple of months ago. I'm sorry but I can't remeber who posted it there. This one has a transparent background.
Thanks man but doesn't seem to be working, uninstalled the old genie widget but can't install this one even using ADB I get [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE] Sucks now I am back to no GenieWidget at all lol

Thanks man appreciate it but not exactly what I was looking for LOL What I meant was one that matches the black transparent background of the clock/weather. That does work though, don't want to seem ungrateful just not what I was looking for.

No one will be completely happy with what they have...
Dude, its a 2.1 ROM for a device thats supposed to only be working with 1.5 for now. Just be glad we have it working close to 100%.

Is there some reason you don't just install whatever you think is missing?
it was a simple question that's all no need to get your panty's in a bunch you must be one of the people who want's everything for free and won't donate you must like obama to lol. i was just curios as to why it was missin thats all if it's not out it's not out no biggie
you should just install it if you think it is missing, and while you are at it make a new rom for the rest of us

What does (not) donating and liking Obama have to do with a ROM? Here is what I did. I took the base ROM, took out what I don't use, put in what I did use, and re-signed it to make my own custom ROM. The instructions are on this very forum. I suggest you try it.
I am not sure why this is not included in any of the 2.1 Roms it was in the leaked desire Rom that modaco ported to the nexus one.
I have already tried installing this to the Eris 2.1 and to the new Fresh 2.1 and it just FC's upon being started.
I am looking into why it does that but as of right now I have no idea.
I could be wrong on this but I am pretty sure that friendstream is part of the updated Sense that HTC is working on not an Android app. So this won't be out until we can get the new Sense working which I don't think anyone has had any luck with.

We have a version of the new sense already. Modaco ported the Desire Rom to the Nexus one that has working FriendStream and NewsReader
I am not sure what is causing them not to work as of yet.
my guess is that this is the reason why the "get more HTC widgets" thing doesn't work. maybe the friendstream and news widgets can be downloaded once they get the support for verizon customers ready.

thanks for making the update.zip I dont know if mine works now since I made it too because the morph system I have no clue how it works
Also on mine I have added the Mms.apk that changes the MMS and SMS icon to the desire one

Ive tried to make it transparent and I do get it to work on froyo except it messes up the code causing the USB Debugging Message to say Format and that just really grinds my gears...

If you have CynanogenMod in MCR21, you can set an alpha value of whatever color you want for the Status area background with CM which will give you the desired transparency.
Does anyone have a working HTC Sense LiveWallpaper for CM7 or can make a version that works with CM7
Unfortunately, the HTC Sense Livewallpaper is ripped from HTC Sense Froyo.
So most likely you have to wait for a HTC Sense Gingerbread phone with the livewallpaper first. If I'm not wrong, you can't really hack the Froyo one to the Gingerbread rom because the libraries aren't updated yet.
Is musashiken's post the final answer with this? I too would love this to work with CM7/GB. It's one of my favorite live wallpapers. I'd be happy to 'buy a beer' - actually make that a couple beers to anyone that can make this work!

i am looking for the sprint stock apps and the htc stock ones as well... i updated my rom and would like to get some stuff back such as the clock widget on a stock rom, etc etc....

The clock widget was a Sense widget. If your new ROM isn't a sense rom, you can't use the stock clock widget. There are quite a few replacement widgets in the market though.
Search around on the development forums. Devs like to strip out those apps but provide flashable zips for those who want them. Limit your search to the Sense roms.

need more info.. for starters, what rom are u using?
If you are using a non-Sense based ROM (i.e. CM) none of the widgets will work as they all need the Sense framework to run.
The Sprint apps will run however, and as was stated, take a look in the Development forums, they are all there.

You won't find a Gingerbread ROM with Sense...you can theme it to look like Sense, but it will not be Sense.
As for the Sense framework, no, the zips that have the apps will not have the Sense framework...totally different beast

Fancy Widget free is what I was using before upgrading to Fancy Widget Pro.
The Pro version gives the option to use a very Sense-like flip clock and weather animations similar to what you would see in Sense.

+1. I am a recent convert to Miui Weather from FancyWidgets...not really as many options, but as far as looks go...second to none IMHO.

If you are looking for a more minimal look on your clock and weather widget, I suggest simiclock. Free in. the market, though you can't go wrong with buying beautiful widgets.

I actually have a few (Minimalistic Text, Beautiful Widgets, SimiClock, FancyWidgets and Miui) that I switch between or combo up...I'm a tool I like the weather forecast options of FancyWidgets, the clock look of Miui, battery stats of Minimalistic Text...I'm never satisfied Wish I could learn to make my own app to make it how I want it...I have tried and always just revert back recognizing the fact that I can theme, but not dev.
better! i love the fancywidgets... made my rom look better!

And if you've got the spare change, Beautiful Widgets is another step up from FW. It's weather animations are much better and it has a million different sense themes and more homescreen widgets.
I can't find my city in Miui Weather, or any city near me. I'll have to do a little research on it later when I get home, it really is gorgeous...

I think most of you know the nice HTC Sense Clock-Widget with the nice flip-animation.
I loaded and tested dozens of clocks and widget on the markets out there in the android-world, but i couldn't find a clock that has this nice animation.
Is there really no chance to get such a nice clock onto other devices than HTC?
Maybe there is already one out there and i didn't find it?

I thought I read somewhere that HTC has been sicking their legal team on any dev that copied their animation style and placed it on the market.
Well, what i want is just a flip-clock with "flipping" numbers. I dont mind if the clock dont look like HTC Sense.
Yeah, I love it, "we got it but we aren't giving it to you and we'll sue anyone that gives you a clone that functions like it!" JERKS!
Just released Animating Flip Clock Widget beta. It's beta so bugs can be expected.
