Hey guys, I've looked around but I couldn't find anything.
My search-ability isn't that good
Does anybody know a .pdf reader which can be used fullscreen.
Adobe sucks because it isn't real fullscreen, I don't want scrollbars and so on.
Yeah, Im looking for one too can't find one that doesnt eat lots of memory and is totally full screen and can flick to scroll smoothly.
check the tips thread, there is a registry entry (it was something like showscrollbarinfullscreen) that you need to set to zero. Then you will have what you want. In my opinion adobe reader le is still the best, as you can pinch to zoom and it is fast too.
i'm using FoxitReader because it has full screen...
though i don't like having to do 4 clicks to get it there.
i'll try the registry trick listed above.
EDIT: FoxitReader also does Reflow

No, I don't find it on the tip list. and the key doesn't work.
I added it to
HKCU\Software\Adobe\AdobeReaderLE.25\
tried
showscrollbarinfullscreen=0 (dword)
keepscrollbarinfullscreen=0 (dword)
showscrollbarsinfullscreen=0 (dword)
keepscrollbarsinfullscreen=0 (dword)
you can try Pocketxpdf http://freewareppc.com/docs/pocketxpdf.shtml

I've done that earlier. It hides the toolbar. But the scroll bars are still visible.

Is there a registry setting for this? It's just that Opera zooms in far beyond what it needs to. The only way I can find to zoom in to a level I like is by using the zoom wheel - but double-tapping is far more convenient. It also makes the images all pixelated by zooming in too much.
Thanks for all help in advance.
LLOYDY
Type "Opera:Config" (without quotes) into the address bar. Click on the first category called "Adaptive Zoom." Increase the value in the "Minimum Zoom" field, click on save, and restart Opera.
Ahhh! Thank you so much. I've been looking for a fullset of settings.
Perfect.

I like the VolumeOverlay cause it's prettier, it doesn't interupt your current task and u can set 15 steps instead of only 5. Here's an instruction how to enable it.
Easy way with registry:
In HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\ create a key with any name and in there create a string value with the name: ClassName and the value is the name of the window class (I use BSB->rotation settings to find that out).
That works quite fine with the most application and especially for standby if u use the windows lockscreen u only have to set the value of the string value to ConfettiLockScreen and you dont have to reboot. (It only works if u play some kind of sound otherwise u dont see anything ).
In some applications it's more useful to have a tilted VolumeOverlay although the portrait version is quite nice and sufficient.
The harder way:
In HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\InhouseAPClass\ set a key with any name and a string value with the name: ClassName and the value is again the window class name. In addition u need to set in HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\InhouseEnable2ndUI\ a key with the name of the window class and and in there a string value with the name: Enable2ndOverlay with the value: 2.
Example: LockScreen/Standby
1. I look at the window class name with BSB->rotation->add application->shake in lockscreen. Result: ConfettiLockScreen
2. Create a key in HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\ with the name Lockscreen (or any name)
3. In HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\Lockscreen\ I create a string value: ClassName->ConfettiLockScreen
I hope I could help you and I hope it will be implemented in the BSB tweaks in the future. I would advise to combine all this settings (P2Z, rotation and VolumeOverlay) cause it's easier to add an application once and than tick what u want to have.
Hi there
This seems to be exactly what i need but fail at implementing it.
I am trying to enable this for CorePlayer.
The window clasname seems to be 'wCorePlayer'
I created HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\CorePlayer\
In there i create a string value with the name (REG_SZ?) ClassName and the string value wCorePlayer
It's the first time I edit the registry. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
A
Okay it works now. With CorePlayer you have to go the 'hard way'.
Thanks!
A
ill add this when i have some free time
Works well here, tested it with the RemoteDesktop (Portrait+Landscape).
But is there an easier way to enable it for all programs?
It's a little bit annoying creating a key for every programm.
thx
Thanks a lot, it's really a great thing !!
i've already add this like you to the lockscreen and it works well
If there are a solution to add this to all applications, i'm in !!
Would be nice if this could be implemented into BSB?!

Is there a way to get this all the time in all applications, without adding them one by one in the registry?
VolumeOverlay is not showed properly
I don't know why but VolumeOverlay is not showed properly.... it's showed only a black line... don't appear nothing more when I click in Volume buttoms..
May be is because I have installed MaxManila??? or because I have installed a taskbar icons (Brians Taskbar_6.5)???
Any one more with same problem??? or some one know how to fix it???
thanks in advance.

I resolved uninstalling brians taskbar icons, they was not compatible with the manila version of 1.61 rom.
Removed the icons and the volume overlay come back to work.
Is there an easy way to change the steps for the volume? Maybe somewhere a value in the reg?

Dude can you post how what exactly you did with the registry re: CorePlayer? I'm not so sure how to do it even after reading first post. Thanks!
are there any custom color taskbars present that doesn't cripple the volume overlay?
Could some one make this option in a cab? For people not so geekish?
Good day all,
i have searched the forums thoroughly and have been unable to find an answer.
I was looking for the best reader and after seeing allreader and mobipocket, i actually dont mind adobe pdf and using my finger to pull the pages down.
however, my query is if there is a hack/fix to allow true fullscreen for viewing, removing the bottom bar as well (as this bar is still there in fullscreen mode)
What would also be useful is if it were able to program the vol up and vol down buttons for scrolling
Now what are the odds?? Half an hour ago I was looking for absolutely the same thing with a friend of mine. We weren't able to find anything similar. I would appreciate some help as well!
I am looking the same thing
Yeah, me too.
We all are, lol
i gave up searching for a working pdf reader, i just convert them to .txt files and open them with alreader...
but if someody finds a real pdf reader I'll kiss his shoes
comicreader mobi has real fullscreen support but it doesn't support pdf yet. you have to convert them to cbz or cbr files (make images from each pdf page, add them to a zip and rename to cbz or to a rar and rename to cbr).
You can disable the toolbar in full screen mode via registry. It looks really good once disabled. I am on the train now, so cannot remember the keys but will reply again with the keys unless somebody else posts before me.
i will begin my search again tonight to find one.
i tried the allreader way before posting, and the tap bottom of the screen to turn pages is very nice. I will play with font size etc and see ho wi feel about that.
however it would be so easy to read pdf's from emails etc without converting if i could get the full screen reader.
don't get me wrong, its very usable as is, but such a waste of screen real estate while reading the pdf

People always knock wm, but you gotta love the tweaking you can do.
There you go:
HKCU/Software/Adobe/AdobeReaderLE.25/KeepToolbarInFullScreen
From "1" to "0"
-->Softreset
On Adobe Reader-->Tools-->View-->Full Screen
Double Tap to exit fullscreen.
Credits go to this post (german)

VolDpad: Use the volume buttons as a d-pad
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552947
good job pal, thanks a lot
hmmm
itsa bit tedious to click the volume button that often as it only scrolls 3 lines per click.
anyways to make it scroll a whole page, or better yet, enable kinetic scrolling in pdf or enable that feature in allread that allows you to change pages by tapping the bottom right part of the screen?
thanks for all the help
Trash the LE Reader and search for the Adobe Reader for PocketPc 2.0 recompiled version for ARM processors. I hope this is legal, because Adobe seems to hide this version somehow. It has:
-Reflow
-Full Screen
-Tap to Scroll
I use this now for several years and it is still the best.

I don't get the part with "ARM processors"
Yes this is the right version. I installed this one (german version) and it didn't work on my HD2. After a longer search I found a version recompiled for ARM processors and that version worked fine. I recommend you try this one first and I will look if I find a link to the other version.^^
EDIT: OOOOPS sorry, I was wrong with the recompiled version. It was TCPMP recomp for ARM. Acrobat reader 2.0 should work fine.
Anybody smart enough to get the youtube app (version 2.6 standard installed by HTC) to be shown in Landscape Mode, I mean the Main Menu (not while playing a video because that is already in landscape mode)?

I just forced it into landscape using PLToggle (see in my sig ), but the application won't work like that. It just isn't coded to work in landscape I'm afraid.

Yes - that makes the app capable of rotation, but you still need to use something to rotate the app, so BsBTweaks is the simplest solution.

im thinking this may be rom dependent? cant think of any other reason it didnt work if it does for you?!?! any ideas?

ahhh, fair enough
Only thing I can think of is the registry entry in your whitelist?
in mine its set as, YouTube with string of HTCYOUTUBE
Maybe, maybe not.
Are you talking about different versions of YouTube? Remember that there's the nice looking but limited HTC version that came with the phone, and then the ugly but with better functionality version that Google released a while back.
Edit:
Actually, scratch that because I can get both versions to rotate, so it's obviously nothing to do with that.

its all there... first thing i checked after adding it in with bsb.
maybe theres another class that needs to be added?
what is really weird here is after enabling rotate with your little reg tweak it should have worked straight away as i use gyrator 2 nowadays to rotate EVERY screen on the device regardless.
It doesnt even matter if i cant get it going... its not the end of the world... but now im simply curious as to why it works for others and not me?
maybe the rom has to be manila landscape enabled!?!?! that the only thing i can think of as i use a stock rom.

Got it to work and it works great.
Used all your registry tweaks:
Check: HKLM/Software/HTC/YouTube/EnableRotate
Set that entry to 1.
Check: HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\Gsensor\ModuleName
Add a new STRING Value:
Name: YouTube
Value: \Windows\Youtube.exe
Check: HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\Gsensor\Whitelist
Add a new STRING Value:
Name: YouTube
Value: HTCYOUTUBE
I am happy with it.
PS: I have Artemis V8.0 NLD Rom running in case it won't work on stock rom.
youtube landscape
Try Gyrator works on almost every app.
I have it rotating great....but anyone find that when youre watching a video you cant touch the screen...it wont respond?
And you need to flip back to portrait when the video is playing to be able to touch the screen?
Yes, that's true. Eitherway, it's a choice to have YT in landscape mode, and because the playing of the video was already set in landscape mode, it flips another 90 degrees. Therefore you cant select stop, pauze, back buttons etc.
So it's not that it doesn't respond, it does, but it cannot comply having a landscape view set to landscape mode.
The YT app just simple doesn;t understand.
Therefore you have to flip the phone back upright, for the buttons to re-appear.
Like I said, it's a choice wanting the YT menus be visible in landscape mode... this is what ya get if you need to hack, rather than having a newer version...
We just have to wait until YT themselves come up with a better version which include the option of having a landscape mode or not.
Bye now.

Hi,
Is it possible to deactivate the Opera Auto Adjustment when zooming in or out so you dont jump to de left border of the current content and that it doesnt change text position?
Hope you can help me
Interesting question, would like to know that too. Its sometimes hard to look at opera while zooming, cause it just jumps around while adjusting to that column you zoomed in.
++++1
That's the only thing I dislike with Opera 9.7. Using registry tweaks listed here at XDA elsewhere makes Opera smooth and fast. If it just stops self-adjusting after zoom it will be at least as good as Safari on iPhone.
+1 for me, it's very boring with some sites

this "auto adjustment" is text reflow. It means that you don't have to scroll left and right to read text, after zooming in. You can't change this behaviour.

as I said before: it has some issues. But i think with this, you won't need to double tap to zoom
If you type in (opera:config) without the http and then scroll down to user profs. Then scroll down to Limit Paragraph Width and deselect the check box after that scroll down to bottom of the page and select save. A pop up box will pop up. select OK. Then soft reset. I think that should do it for you.
