My 32A rogers magic does not want to load any rom, I want to make it back to stock but the only solution I found is using RUU which requires HTC sync on the phone, problem is I cant get past the splash screen unless I enter recovery or fastboot.
Anyway I can make it stock from one of those two?
You' ve got it wrong. It doesn't need HTC sync on your phone, but only on your PC.
While in fastboot you can type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
This will put your phone in USB RUU mode and maybe then you could run Rogers RUU file. You must have HTC sync installed on your PC. If you have windows 7, you should have "My HTC" under ADB Devices in the device manager for the little taskbar icon to turn green and the RUU to recognize your phone.
I got it to get into RUU USB mode(thank you), but im on windows 7 and I dont get the "My HTC" part you explained. Because the RUU file still wont work. Any help would be very much appreciated.
You just need to install the HTC drivers.
In order to do this right click the device under ADB interface (it should have "HTC Dream Composite ADB Interface" in the device manager), and click the "Update Driver Software".
Then click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". Choose "My HTC" and you're done.
If there is no "My HTC" there, click on "Have disk" and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Win7_x64 (the last folder maybe different, if you don't have the 64bit version of Windows 7). Choose androidusb.INF and click Next.
I have to warn you. If this works (the RUU flashing), you'll get stuck to the perfected 1.76.xxxx SPL, which for the time being cannot be unlocked. There is a way to avoid this. If you're interested, tell me and I'll wright the way to do this.

I just got a new mytouch because i lost my old one :/
last time i did the rooting through the gold card method, now i tried the one click method and it went horribly wrong, i belive i got root, i tried to boot up with a new image but i just stays stuck on the mytouch logo, i can go into fastboot, but when i try to go through fastboot through my computer, the computer doesn't recognize my phone(it doesnt show the serial number) should i install the drives all over again? right now i have i connected to my computer through usb, and it says "fastboot usb".
i have looked though the forums but i didnt find a specific answer, so please if im going to get bombed, all im asking is for a little help.
thanks in advance
ok so..
ok so i fixed my drivers and it detects my phone, but now when i am trying to fastboot it it doesnt let me
you are sure you installed the drivers correctly? can you make it to the recovery screen?
if u try adb devices in cmd using adb from sdk does it give you something like HT9623465? cos that should be fine, also if you're using the sdk try uninstall the driver and then copy the 'usb driver' folder contents from the sdk into the 'tools' folder so everythings in the same place and then refer to that directory for driver installation (windows detects it as android 1.0 device when in fastboot and the drivers are different from normal mode). forgive me if im wrong
hey everyone. i finally got my one x from at&t and now i'm trying to do everything to it before it all gets fixed. i've rooted and now i'm attempting to unlock the bootloader.
the problem is the drivers. if the phone is not in the bootloader, my computer identifies the device as "my htc", however, when it is in the bootloader, it is identified as "android 1.0".
i have already gotten supercid, i just need the identifier token. when i use the command "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" it just says waiting for device. when i put the command in, my hox is in the bootloader.
so can anyone help with my problem? i'm pretty sure it's the drivers, but i can't find them anywhere online, and my computer doesn't automatically look for them.
If you install htc sync which you can get from htc.com you'll get drivers too. Just make sure htc sync is disabled when you use any of the one click tools.
Your phone has to be in fastboot mode, not bootloader. Use the vol up and down to select fastboot, and power button to confirm.
when i installed htc sync, it said the drivers failed to install. is there a direct download to manually install the drivers?

Hi Guys, since monday im the owner of a htc one s. I unlocked the booloader and flashed the team win recovery. Then I flashed the TrickDroid Custom Rom, because I thought i would have a nice battery life like it was told in the title. But the fact is that my One S looses extremly much battery in standby-mode and i dont know why. So i would flash a RUU. But I couldnt do this. Like in some Threads i flashed the Stock-Recovery and the I relocked the bootloader. Now I tried to start my phone to flash the RUU but i coulndt, the One S wasnt booting. Then I tried to flash the Recovery over the Bootloader and ive got the failure-code 171 (ruu cant find a fastboot device -> usb). But i realy want to go back to stock. Can you help me?
iZodiac
never done an ruu, so can't help much there other than what is already posted
assuming you are up on your adb/fastboot stuff, try reinstalling the htc drivers. then open command window, cd to fastboot.exe folder, usually in something like tools or platform-tools and at command prompt type fastboot devices and see if phone is recognized.
And thats the Point, if I install Android SDK my CMD Console says me, that I cant open this and then my cmd isnt available anymore on my pc. i tried this 2 times and every time I needed to restore my pc to a earlier time..
not sure
can you reinstall htc sync or try new usb or different pc port
you need the fastboot.exe and adb.exe and 2 windll files in your tools folder. If they are missing--might be issue
did you check and see on phone if usb debugging is checked under Settings/Development and fastboot is unchecked under Settings/Power
oh, if you haven't and get to a point you can, get a nandroid. i know you can't bu sdcard to pc--but, first chance you get, do it
Thanks first for your Support, 2nd
Can you give me a link of the (if available) latest RUU-Nandroid? Would be great if you'll find something
Hello and good day/afternoon/night depending when you see this, I have a seems to be very frequent, the thing is that I've been trying to unlock my htc sensationg 4g (yeah, there are humans who still use it) and the thing is that every time I try to connect to the pc and write the
"fastboot oem get_identifier_token" command, the command line stucks at "waiting for device" and I know that that means it's not being recognized by the computer. I'll list everything I tried and all the information:
*My computer has windows 8.1 64 bit
*I installed the htc drivers and the android sdk
*my htc has android 4.0.3
*I have used usb 2.0 ports
*I have the fastboot files and all the files required
*I restarted the computer idk how many times to see if that does something
*everytime I connect the phone via fastboot mode, windows says device is not recognized
if need something else, simply ask for it, I have searched through thousands of forums and obviously here with no success, I hope you guys can help me

the issue is on win8
Search here in xda how to set up adb/fastboot on windows8
Or just download a Linux Live CD with fastboot and adb.
Just boot the cd and you can use fastboot and adb from terminal.
As mentioned, I need to go back to stock in order to unlock my phone but it has been a very long time since I have done anything techy to this phone. I know I needed an RUU file (which one?) and drivers but I also read about it failing in Windows 10. Can anyone advise how I can unlock my Rogers evita device?
I should also note that after a bit of research, I am trying to flash the RUU (using the command 'astboot flash zip PJ83IMG.zip' without quotes) but it just says 'waiting for devices' even though fastboot is red and says fastboot usb... Is this the result of having Windows 10 (drivers do not work)?
I have installed the drivers and HTC sync/adb from, the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
It is still not useful. I should also note when trying to sync via fastboot, in device manager I see under USB (device failed enumeration).
I know it's a few months later, but if it can help someone, here is how I got ADB-Fastboot (especially Fastboot) working under Windows 10 64bit.
I'm pretty sure I remember correctly doing just that, after messing for days without success.
If you're not successful, I might be forgetting something.
(of course, I cleaned my PC removing any HTC driver and any ADB-Fastboot solutions I had installed before doing the 3 steps below, also cleaning the Windows Registry)
1. Download and install latest HTC Sync Manager, then uninstall Sync Manager keeping only the drivers installed.
2. Find and Install latest Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
3. Download and install latest Java SE Development Kit 32bit version (even for Windows 10 64bit).
Connecting phone to PC was recognized, started Minimal adb-fastboot and then typed adb devices, worked fine.
Rebooted the phone to Bootloader then put it in fastboot usb mode and typed fastboot devices, worked fine.
