On my Touch Pro I always used KixAss Bluepower, which is a small tool that activates bluetooth when the device is connected to a USB port. This would enable me to just put in the phone in the usb cradle in my car, switch on the radio and I'd have a connection immediately. As soon as I leave the car, thus disconnecting the phone from the cradle, bluetooth disables automatically.
Now the problem is, this tool doesn't seem to work on my HD2.. Does anyone know a similiar tool?
Yes, you can use G-watch for free.

I don't know why, but ever since i got my USB keyboard.
when i plug my phone in to active sync my keyboard and mouse acts up.
it's like it turns it self on and off.
i type or move for 5 seconds then it stops.
it also seems like it seems to be moving between windows?
like and alt-tab kinda thing.
cuz the IE window would got active and unactive.
am i making any sense?
does anyone else have this problem?
thanks!
bump, please help.
Active synce used to work great on PC but now it's acting up.
I recently replaced my KVM switch with a USB one, so i can use my USB keyboard and wireless mouse.
but ever since I did this, when i plug my phone in to active sync my keyboard acts up.
it's like it turns it self on and off.
for example, I'm chatting with someone, i type for 5 seconds then it stops, and i have to click on the window again.
am i making any sense?
does anyone else have this problem?
the PCI usb port has 4 ports, on it, it has an external 4 port USB hub, 1 usb cable that i use to plug my phone in to sync or d/l pics from my camera, and one port for the KVM switch. could it be my USB port is overloaded?
So i decieded to plug my phone into a USB port on the motherboard. the same problem happens!
so does it rule out my PCI usb ports were over loaded?
I also tried just leaving in the KVM and plugging in the phone. the samething happens!
does anyone know what could be causing this? I installed and reinstalled active sync many times.
Please help me!
hmmm !strange behavior,I'm using both a usb Logitech wireless keyboard and a usb cordless Logitech MX 1000 Laser Mouse.I have also got a separate usb cable attached for my phone, which I use very regularly, but have never had any sort of problem.
Although, I have eight usb ports on my PC,I have plugged each to a separate usb port, well as there are some usb ports in your PC which are cable to work as usb2 while are cable only usb1 data transfer.Checkout and try to connect to ports with usb 2 data transfer capable, check if it works.
secondly, disable 'connection through usb' option in the Activesync and connect the phone with the pc via usb cable and check or there's another option in the Activesync to enable connection through network connectivity or something,as I don't have the Activesync installed in my PC at present ,I can't tell you about it at present.
thirdly, which windows are you using ? if you are using winxp than upgrade to sp2 ,it'll upgrade your usb drivers automatically or download usb update drivers from Microsft site and update your usb drivers, hope it'll solve this problem.
Cheers
Thanks, but i don't know how to get active sync to connect thru network?
all the usb ports on my computer are usb 2.0 except for 2.

Ever since I got my TP, I’ve been using the Bluetooth function a lot, specifically to sync with my PC. What is weird is that at random times when my TP is connected to my Dell PC, the Bluetooth fuction will just shut off. I know it’s shut off because the TP will disconnect as well as my Bluetooth mouse. I have to turn off the Bluetooth adapter on my Dell laptop and turn it back on again.
Anyone else having this issue?
The problem is with your PC, not your phone. Make sure you have the latest bluetooth driver. I suggest searching Dell support.

Is it possible to get a gps usb adapter and plug it into the tablet?
I don't think it will work with USB. I use a Bluetooth GPS with no problems though. You just need to pair and then use a program like Blue GPS, or Bluetooth GPS Provider to interface your Nav program with it. I use Co-Pilot for Nav but if you also tether your phone to the tablet using wifi then Google Nav will also work. You can even use the GPS on your phone with a program called Share GPS on the phone. Lots of way, USB is probably not one of them though unless you have a driver for your GPS that was written for Android.

Could you please give me a link? If I can connect it via bluetooth then great!
Connect what? A phone, or a GPS? Here is a link for some that will let you use a Bluetooth GPS.

What about a link to a bluetooth gps physical unit?
The one I use is a Holux GPS Slim 236. It is a couple years old and has been discontinued. There are lots of different ones out there.
Here is a link to my my discontinued Holux.

I can't seem to get MTP working with the phone. Whatever cable I use, including the OEM cable, the phone just starts charging. USB settings in Settings -> Connected devices are greyed out. On every other phone I ever used, when connected via USB, a notification shows up asking what to do with the connection (charge, MTP, PTP, etc.), said notification is not here. Anyone else having the same issue?
Edit: googled around, might be an Android issue. Nice. I guess I'll have to use the 3.5mm jack to listen to music in my car now, great.

And a few more. The only solution apparently *maybe* is to buy a 3rd party cable.
Edit: after writing this post I decided to try again and lo and behold... It works now. For reasons of I don't friggin know. All cables that didn't work before now work just fine for charging and data transfer between my PC and the phone. Unfortunately my car HU keeps disconnecting and reconnecting the USB, which is a bummer because that's the reason I actually care about file transfer.
I am using Android Pie on my Mi A1 from Christmas 2018 and I never had a problem with MTP, it worked fine with all monthly security updates.
Works as expected here for me at least, with the prompt and everything.
Just tried it out for myself on my work laptop. Connected via a 3rd party micro-USB cable with micro-USB-to-USB-C adapter (so one of the more "fragile" ways to connect) and it directly popped up the question of whether to allow file transfers. After that, the phone was normally browsable on the computer and the USB connection notification that allows for mode-switching is present.

Perhaps actually more with the unit in the car.. From my understanding the buggy file-transfer is between the phone and the car's unit?
Have a question for you smart folks. So I've run into this problem of not having a mic for my pc so bought a dongle and it doesn't work and got me thinking, must be an app for that so I looked and found the only one out there is a virus on the PC client side (won't mention names) So I'm wondering, are we able to like maybe make a midi connection through USB PC to the phone and the phone can send the audio/mic to my headset and completely eliminate the none reliability of said bluetooth dongle? I meant there has to be a way somehow if it is plugged in via USB correct?

If it was not WO mic app, check this: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/use-smartphone-windows-microphone/
There are several tutorials on youtube how to connect the mobile phone as microphone to your PC using this app.
