please if anyone has any suggestions i would love to hear them
reloading rom
hey, have you tried reloading the rom?
if you can put a bit more info up someone might be able to find a rom to suit
Do you remember the version number etc?

that is what it says in the fastboot screen
can you flash a rom without having root access?
has nobody else had an experience like this?

then i deleted the update file of radio from my microsd and then added the spl files into the microsd and renamed it to update
then turning on the phone with home+power and then alt+S, the yellow bar loaded half way and then restarted the phone and started looping
please help if anyone could, please, its urgent
it should not have caused you any problems. Try wiping your phone.
do u mind telling in which part i need to do a wipe?
before updating spl or do i need to do a wipe before updating the radio?
you don't need to wipe with either one
You can flash the radio and the SPL without wiping, you just have to reflash your ROM of choice AFTER the SPL. The SPL will flash and then reboot similar to flashing a radio, and then will hang. Then you insert an SD card with an update.zip of your ROM of choice (from the same family if you plan to do this stuff without wiping), reboot in recovery mode and flash the update. This has been covered MANY, MANY times in the threads dedicated to the new SPL.
after NOT updating the spl, i had no other choices but toput the latest htc rom into the microsd card and renamed it to update.zip and plug it back into the phone and started the home+power function and did a wipe (it reboots after i did the wipe) and then clicked alt+s and the it started updating
and at the end, it restarted and took a long time at the G1 logo...finally it went into HTC!!!
i think it was really a fluke....but to be honest, i think iv skipped the updating spl thingy...im wondering if there would be any problems or not....
if haykuro sees my post, i hope that he could give me some suggestions or opinion about this incident...
thanks in advance
o yeah, and thanks to the person who replied my post too
thanks alot

If you loaded the latest HTC build (6.0r1) successfully, then you were successful with the SPL also. You can't load 6.0 without first loading that SPL or else your system partition simply won't be large enough for the ROM (at least that's my understanding). And yes, when I loaded Haykuro's 6.0 ROM (without wiping by the way), it took a very SCARY long time to boot up the first time, on both the splash screen and the HTC screen.
or maybe it did update and you havent checked to see????
that would be the first thing id try.... go back to bootloader and see if you have the version info for the new SPL or if its still the same as your old SPL... but honestly if you have haykuro 6.0 on your phone then it worked... or your phone would be slow as mud (if you somehow installed it without the SPL but im pretty sure it checks) since youd have like 20mb free on a fresh flash

Does that match what it said it shuld in the thread you got it from?
I think you answered your own question.
yes, you could have compared that info to the info in the first post of the thread about this SPL, maaaaaybe since they match you flashed succesfully.... but just a thought...
SPL's arent large at all and take no time to flash.... buuuuuut its just about the only way you'll pseudo brick (not technically bricked just unfixable ATM) your phone

yha, and its a fuss to try to read ANY THING? come on, this has been re hashed over and over and over in almost every thread on the first page.
Heres the info:
Phone: myTouch
Sapphire PvT 32B
HBOOT-1.33.2005
CPLD-10
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Recovery: RAv1.2.0H
When I first rooted my phone I used this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4314039
I had RA1.0.1H until I wanted to change to CM4.0.2. Upon trying to flash it I got stuck on the Vodafone splash on reboot. I was able to redo everything and now I just have the sappimg ROM on there as I am still trying to get CM loaded.
I tried putting a new SPL on there by using this thread: http://androidforums.com/updates-cupcakes/5662-flashing-new-spl.html . I saw that someone here had the same SPL that I was trying to load and had 4.0.2 on their myTouch and figured it may work. After updating with the new SPL and then updating with CM4.0.2 I still get stuck on the Vodafone splash. Can anyone give me some pointers to what I need to use to get it to work?
FIXED
Well I fixed my own problem after all. I did some more research (or just finding out info I hadnt already known) into my phone and realized that the "Daredevil" part of Amon_RA's rooting tutorial gave me all the info that I needed to install CM4.0.2. I went through the instructions he gave there and now my phone is on the android boot splash (as I was told it takes a few minutes to boot), which is way farther than I've ever gotten with it before.
Maybe Amon_RA should change that to "To Install other ROMs including CyanogenMod" lol.
Booted! I guess Cyanogen will be getting his beers afterall!
Hi there
i'm really stuck at the moment and i've been reading threads after threads on this forum and i still couldn't find any solution and no luck with search as well.
my current problem is that i flashed a hero rom (i believe it's called myhero) about half a year ago when i first got it, but now i want to go back to the original Roger rom so that i can update to the new RUU. But i have no luck going back to the original rom at all. Anyone here would like to help?? i dun want to see my data plan go to waste just because of this

PS: i tried many different ways, including unlockr's unrooting method, someone's nandroid wiped roger rom etc, but either htc sync said usb error or my fastboot screen said update failed. please help~
Should work using this method, just apply the update while the phone is in fastboot mode.
i tried that but i never knew i need to go into fastboot mode, i will give that a try, thank you very much

You don't usually need it. But if HTC Sync can't find the phone, you can apply the update trough fastboot. Let me hear your result.
yes same as before i get an error 170: usb error, is there any other way :S??
fastboot errors on mine also.
First hello everyone this is my first post ( of menny questions know dout )
My problem is i have just got a htc magic vodaphone uk. The back says (with google)
basicly i wont to root this phone so i can put that custom firmware that most people use. i have the ROM and a guide to get the costom ROM on ( that may be a question when im rooted ) i have looked all over the net for days now and come across a file called SAPPIMG.nbh
i ran the file in fast boot but as it unpack's or whotever it does but as the green writeing come's up i noticed after every line it says image not found or wrong image first line is alway's say's SAPPING.zip image not found i think it as 6 lines its prity fast over in about 10 sec's.

if i have missed anything inportent out please let me know.
may not matter but its unlocked to any network im on 02 so i have to put my own vpn in for 3g.
Your phone has a perfected spl and so you will need to create a Goldcard it's a lot easier then it looks trust me just follow Amon_RA's instructions (link below) I used them just the other day to root my UK Vodafone HTC Magic all I can say is make sure you read the whole post and links carefully a few times and if there's anything you don't understand just ask
[How-To] Root and un-root the T-Mobile myTouch 3G
Thank you dreamsofubuntu. im now running custom rom no real difrence to stock but got to start someware may try a new rom. i was wondering i made the gold card do i need it anymore or is it something i may need if rom ruins my phone or whotever dont realy need the card as i just got a new 4gb also i have read something about file swop or linux swop to speed up apps and whot not the recovery i flashed dont have that option but i still have the image that as it that i might put on had way more options than the one im useing recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2H.img the other one with loads of options starts with boot anyway can i reflash the boot img without haveing to reflash the rom.

1) The most user-friendly rom by far is CyanogenMOD =]
2) Keeping hold of the Goldcard is useful, if for any reason you want to unroot your phone I believe
3) some recommend partitioning your microSD card so you have a small swap partition (used when you run out of ram) and a ext3 partition to use app2sd (stores apps on microSD instead of Phones memory) but this isn't recommended unless you have a class 4 or above microSD
in my opinion app2sd or swap is not needed for the HTC Magic however if you have allot of apps then it could become useful.
if you want information on partitioning your microsd or about swap I recommend reading the CyanogenMOD Wiki:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Apps2SD#via_Amon_RA_recovery
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Compcache#
as to the rest of you post I'm afraid I can't quite understand if you could rephrase it
Greetings! I need a rom! My DS can't get out of bootloop, so I can't get the CID. That means I'm not able to make a gold card. All I know is that my device was made for Singapore. Does that mean I need to get a Singapore custom rom to bring my DS back to life? Where can I get it? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hey, check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506
I guess those are all we have so far. Just out of curiosity, how did your boot loop happened? There were several reports on this after battery being removed while phone wasn't responding and in all cases it was broken eMMC.
Thank you for your reply. I've tried some of these roms and it said "wrong CID" or smth like that..
I rebooted the phone while it was connected to pc. At the first time it almost booted but hanged when I was typing the sim password. The result of my next attempts to boot it was the htc logo on a white screen. I've tried the factory reset but it didn't work.
Is there a way to find out if it's 100% an eMMC problem?
Hey, I think if your factory reset went ok, there should be no problem with eMMC (but there might still be hardware issue).
Have you tried this ROM? http://www.filefactory.com/file/ca3...0805U_38.03.02.15_M_release_179398_signed.exe
There are very few developers or advanced users in Desire S forums, unfortunately, I'm not one of them, so there's only limited amount of advices I can offer. If I were you, I'd try to contact HTC directly and ask them for help. Is your phone under a warranty?
Tried it, still "wrong cid". HTC-Russia won't help cuz my phone's illegal here.. but thx anywayz
