Clock with email/rss/etc - General Questions and Answers

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.
I was looking at some 'skinnable' 3.5" LCD clocks my supermarket is selling, and thought they'd be pretty good if they also showed you if you had unread email (ideally multiple accounts, POP & IMAP, either a count indicator or the headers, etc.) and/or RSS feed(s) (scrolling?).
Is something like this already available? (for a Universal running WM 6.1)
SPB Time/Shell looks nice, but (judging by screenshots) isn't full screen (you can still see the menu bar?) and doesn't have the kind of email and/or rss capabilities I was looking for. I've searched, but can't really find ANY clock app/screensaver that also displays email headers/feeds.

Email software recommendation

Hi All,
Any recommendations on email software?
My primary use is receiving Yahoo news alerts as emails.
The news alerts are formatted as HTML. There is a list of headlines at the top of the page that act as links to an introductory paragraph and related image further down the page. That introductory paragraph has a link that will bring up the full article.
I am using ProfiMail right now and it handles things pretty well except for a one major issue and a few minor ones.
There is an option to change the font size but this only relates to the applications textual data, not to the content within the email.
When I read the emails the text is very small and I cannot enlarge it.
It handles mail pretty well and I could wish for a few minor features but not being able to increase the font size for the email pages is a major problem.
Any recommendations for email software for WM5 that can handle HTML reasonably and can control font size? Preferably one that can also use hard buttons for the menu's and possibly handle the display of the HTML internally rather than just pulling up a browser window.
I am using the HTA Wizard (Cingular 8125).
BTW, I do like ProfiMail but since I hit my 40's my eyesight just cant keep up with the tiny text which I mostly read while walking. In most other respects it is a very nice application.

Notifications for emails in folders other than the inbox.

I've been looking around for some type of software (since WM5 and WM6 don't seem to have the ability built in) that will let me know when I've gotten an email in a folder other than my inbox.
All of the people in my office have separate folders, and all of their email is sorted into their respective boxes automatically in a server-side rule. I'd always have to manually check those folders in windows mobile (I've got an 8125 running XDA Mobile 6 r4) every time I looked at my phone.
While searching around I found a software package called watchflag (www.watchflag.com or m.watchflag.com for the direct download). It didn't have this option at first, but I asked their support about it and they actually wrote it into the code! It'll play different notifications depending on who it's from or what the subject line is, and it checks all folders, including subfolders (just be sure to follow all of their directions!). So if you've been looking for something to alert you on new email in subfolders (the boss [or the wife] emailing you and you have a separate folder for them), this software will work great.
Just wanted to spread the word as I looked high and low and haven't found anything else that does this out there!
thanks for the post, nice ap. probably shouldnt put your email in plain site like that[username]
I've been waiting a long time for this! Thanks!
Looks interesting. I'm looking for something subtley different - I use FlexMail to access a private IMAP account and I'd love to find something which hooks the standard notification process, so, for instance, my HTC Home new mail count will increment for mail received in Flexmail/IMAP. (At the moment I have Outlook mirroring the IMAP account and checking for mail every 5 minutes to flag new arrivals, but that's wasteful of resources...)
Does anyone know of something that allows you to hook the standard notification procedures for custom events?

Today screen question from newbie

Hello, new here. Hope I don't sound too foolish.
Is there some way to simply add an icon to my today screen that will indicate a message (or email) has arrived? Perhaps a button that will be "lit up" when sms or email is waiting? Could it indicate the number of messages unread?
I know there are various add ons, interfaces, that have this feature, but they usually don't work well on my Imate 9502.
Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.
Nice forum
you can add messaging/email to your today screen which would show how many unread but it won't lite up..... this should be set to be there by default though

SMS MAIL MISSED CALL notificaton plugin available for VGA?

Hi
I'm looking for some simple freeware that will display in icon form, SMS, MISSED CALL, and MAIL notifications, with number of msgs listed. Tapping on the icon will take you to the appropriate location.
Sounds simple, eh?
They were available it seems for older versions of WM (I have 6 pro) and smaller screens, but cannot find in VGA format to use as a today plugin.
ANy suggestions?
There are some shells that can do that, for VGA and QVGA, like HomeScreen++, rlToday.. and some others. you can download skins for them from the official websites. just look for them either here in the forum or in google.

[Q] [searching] IMAP unread widget

// It maybe that I misplaced this topic, it's my first post outside my device's subforum, so please move if needed, thanks.
For my information and designing needs, I'm searching for a way to display the count of unread messages from one (or more) of my IMAP accounts, which are hosted on my own domain, so no GMail, Yahoo!, etc.
I looked at UCCW, Zooper and Tasker, but at best they seem to feature GMail. So I'd like to know if any of you knows a plugin for one of them or some other good solution to just give me a "X" (X=number) without any Icons, but at least the possibility for a custom font? If so, please tell.
