Custom pattern lock screens. - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

I use the pattern lock on my phone because if I set it down at work and walk away for a minute, some wiseass changes the language or some other stupid thing. I got to thinking, though, everything else gets customized, so why not this. I don't have the skills, but maybe some of the pro's could give it a try. Thanks.

Wow! 91 views!

It's certainly expected, and well documented in the sdk. They actually want to give the ability to make custom lock screens. So far most of the custom lock screens are only keyguard screens, that then display the built-in unlock pattern. But it's well within the capabilities to make any kind of unlock a developer wants to make.
Maybe I'll try experimenting with it to see what crazy **** I can think up But no promises.
Either way, you didn't really give anything specific that you wanted to see. What are you looking for?

dont know if its possable but I would really like to see like a old school combination lock type setup.

Should be possible... I'll look into it when I have some free time.

lol when does a guy that works as hard as you do have any free time? are do you just like not sleeping?

Didn't really have anything specific in mind, just something different. The combo lock sounds cool. Maybe some different colors, 3D buttons, pics instead of buttons. Things like that.

That would be pretty awesome, actually. A combination lock screen.... Could it work with multitouch and a two-finger twisting motion?

Keyboard sounds?

I'm looking for an app that will add typing sounds of some kind while using the hardware keyboard on my G1. I'm coming from a modded, OpenTouch flashed and overclocked HTC Herald/T-Mobile Wing which had the option to add sounds for hardware button presses. I'm a big guy with BIG hands- my two thumbs placed together stretch from the "A" to the "L" on the G1 keyboard. The G1's keys are smaller and don't have the healthy, positive feeling "click" that my old Wing/Herald did, which makes it hard for my big ass thumbs to register if I've depressed the button. I end up backspacing a lot to correct double typed or missed letters. Having sounds would help sooooo much. Even the same sound you can set for screen touches would be perfect.
Does something like this exist? Could an app be made?
~edit~
Just realized I should have posted this in the apps forum....sorry! Move if needed!
hmm good post. I would like to know this as well, would be a great feature addition.
maybe someone can create a sound not when it opens but when ever the screen is rotated?just a thought

no offense, but that wouldn't really help the OP
and it would be a nice feature. god knows how you'd do it though
This would be an absolute must have app for me....I'd pay for it without a second thought.
ttt....
My hope is that some super secret squirrel developer will see this and whip out the appropriate app and beam to my phone in 3.2 seconds. lol
i was wondering about this also!

its quite possible to do it. i dont know how though
in the coding, there is a keyboardhidden and keyboardexposed recognization...
we just need to find a dev interested in it
i would like this also!
i love using the on screen keyboard because of all the sounds and the different ones for space and delete and if i could have it on my hard keyboard also i would most definitely pay
You guys know about Haykuros keyboard mod? The one that gives the hard keyboard predictive text? It also gives you key pressing sounds like the VK does.
can you link us to this?
if you use haykuro's HTC IME you can tell it to make typing noises when you click the hardware or software keyboard.

Hope that this helps.

[REQUEST] App to flash the bottom key led's for alerts

I am wanting an app to flash the bottom key leds for alerts and such.
I second that motion
Very Cool Idea
different sequences would be cool too!
Great idea....hope this happens.
that would be really battery consuming if you leave your fone siting somewhere
way cool, just hope it doesn't kill the battery even more.
Here is one TheJza over at SDX created for the samsung moment. Once again all credit goes to him.
Yeah that sounds awesome, lets hope someone can figure this out!
Only problem I see is that I think the bottom row backlights could all be one light so we may not be able to get patterns and such :\
Agree I would also love to see this app! Tried the apk posted earlier which worked for the Moment but it doesn't work on our phones. Hope one of the brilliant people on here can make one! =)
I like the sequence idea. Maybe a different sequence for each type of notification. Pans left for SMS, right for Email, etc. Or maybe each light blinks individually depending on the type. Think that would be BA.

Interesting, now to add it into notification
Anyone intrested in trying to implement?
The big thing people wanted on the HD2, was a KITT style...which still would be bada** but they couldn't ever get it to work like that...
Maybe someone can do it with this phone, but I doubt it...I really hope so though.
Great idea! I would love this, also would donate to the cause.
Anybody manage to get this working?

I tired lockbot the resolutions were poor, On everyone one of them, except the x10 swipe lock, The slide to unlock looked poorly put together But thanks for the suggest, Does have a good selection from the moment unlock, hero unlock, slide 2 unlock, but just didnt feel satisfied with it.
nevermind...
lockbot pro has been the best for me... gives you every lock option that we've seen for our android phones and the iphone like lock screen, best part is.. you can customize it on the fly from the app

Tilting SCreen

Is there any way to disable that annoyng tilting effect og the sense 3??? I don't know why but most of the time I turn on the phone the screen is rotated left or right.

The home screen tilts if I move the phone. I hate thing thing!
any chance of a vid or photo of this? I've never known anything like that before.
from what i gather, he's saying that the software image is staying aligned with the horizon when he moves his phone. so if he tilts his phone at 45 degrees, sense will still be in line with the horizon, where as you or I would need to tilt our heads at 45 degrees to see it aligned properly....get it?

two days ago i tested on the dhd a coocked rom, Rmix i think, that came with sense 3.0. It has the same thing, that I assume is a standard feature of the sense. I cannot believe you don't see it. Try to move the phone from left to right in the home screen: I can see the edge of the clock, in the meteo widget you see the moon or the sun in 3d. At a first sight it's amazing, but now, when i switch on the phone the screen is not aligned.....

What are you looking forward to..

On the 6.0 update?
For me...
1. Faster fingerprint reader/unlock animation
2. New keyboard layout
3. Finally having an option to switch to pin code for alternative option if fingerprint isnt working
4. Adjustments on touchwiz
5. Google now on tap
6. New emojis
7.Faster phone ?? (hopefully)
Is speed an issue? My Note5 is smooth and quick. *shrug* Now on Tap is actually pretty cool. I don't use a protective lock screen so I don't know about that. I'd like to be able to activate Samsung Pay with a swipe up from the S-View window, but that won't happen.

Speed is definitely not an issue lol, but there are somethings that need a speed improvement.. such as the fingerprint reader. I just hope i dont see any lag. Im assuming you use Find my mobile? if you dont use a protective lock screen. And i dont use samsung pay or NFC payment for that matter, but i understand your struggle haha.
I could root my device, but i choose not to. Reason being is it will possibly lose value once Knox has been tripped.

I do use Find my Mobile but I also use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rickclephas.fingersecurity to lock certain apps. It only locks those apps when I am not connected to my WiFi or my cars Bluetooth. Maybe with the new fingerprint API I'll lock the whole phone up.
I also noticed when watching marshmallow beta for s6/s6 edge is that the capacitive buttons dont light up when touching the screen... which is a smart move from samsung. It saves battery and it makes sense. It only lights up when pressing them or when pressing the home button.

Actually it makes no sense, whatsoever. The entire point of the capacitive buttons lighting up when you touch the screen is so you can see them in the dark in order to press them.. lighting up when you touch them makes zero sense, why would I need them to do THAT?

It only takes about an hour to learn which is which... Its unecessary for the lights to turn on everytime you touch the screen, its just pointless.

They didn't light up because it was a Beta and the rooted kernel broke it even more on some devices, but made them work better on other devices. There's also mods you can use to just turn them off if you don't like them. Xposed. Or just go into the settings!!!
Also, just because you don't like them being on, doesn't mean that they are pointless. Tests have also been done to see just how much battery life is affected by Capacitive buttons and you can't even tell how much they use.
By the way, a lot of people like myself, work in dark places and have to use our phones. Think about that for a minute.:good:
The only thing I'm looking forward to is a phone that doesn't get an update and have it cause the phone to be worse than before. Right now my stock Note 5 works just fine.
