yeah thanks! exactly what i was looking for.

with that app you have to add your friends manually. It can't read your XBL account and pull your friends from the list.

search for gsDroid in the Market. i use that. Sign in with your windows ID so no need to add all your friends

This is a great app, but does not work if your friends have privacy settings enabled.

No, you can't send messages through it. It does still work if your friends have privacy settings enabled. gsDroid is by far the best Xbox live app imo.

don't get gsDroid
I have to say gsDroid may work really well and all but I wouldn't get it! You have to give them your Microsoft sign in information which violates x box rules for a good reason. That person would have access to your account and possible credit card info. No matter how much you may like the app we really don't know the developer and this could be an opportunity for that person to get your info and scam people.

will this work for emails, yahoomail, gmail, etc etc?
I keep getting an error message when trying to register an account. Also, on the site they say they done have twitter support just yet. I like the idea though and I hope everything gets sorted out. I'd pay money for twitter push notifications.

Instead of using the Gmail app for you phone, use the "Email app". Go to settings -> accounts -> Add Account -> and click on "Email" not "Gmail" After you set up your vaious emails. Go to the "email" app on your homescreen, then click the "menu" key with the four squares to bring up the dropbox, click "email delivery" then check Data Push Let me know if it works

Ermmmm .... I'm surprised if it's true that TweetCaster makes use of PUSH. Will give it a try.
edit:
If I untick "Auto-Refresh", my Notification tab is ungrey. Means it will not even notifiy me at all. But if I tick Auto-Refresh, it ask me for a timing to refresh.
So isn't that still pulling?
Any news from the dev?

Sounds great, but I think setting this up might be a tad harsh for general use (firewalls etc). I would suggest building an intermediary platform (web service) to communicate to. That way you can have a very easy setup. For instance, you can use the Google login service to identify yourself from the phone and the notification program and that's it then. No IP's or port numbers as most users don't know what that is anyway.
But for the techies, good start.
Cheers

its not a waste of time, and for sure i have learned couple of things while developing this app, its not a waste at all.
otherwise you will see a single app for each purpose ... on pc\mobile ...
one more thing .. why do you think there is Windows , Linux and Mac??
could not other parties just SAVE there time and NOT develop another OS!!!!

low battery event
as an option, deliver every notification from notification bar (alarms, songs played, ebay auctions ending, FB msgs, etc.)
cheers
Mac version would be awesome .

Using bluetooth maybe ? PC as a handset (would have to be paired before)
I understand then distance range would come as a limit for many use cases, but could still be enjoyable instead of standing up to pick up the phone !

It makes no sense! Why didn't they just make the Xfinity app compatible with Honeycomb, besides creating a whole new app which is so extremely limited. You can't check your email, access your address book, access your Digital Voice (Comcast home phone), On Demand, or anything from your tablet...

I agree with that. Plus I think you can watch tv on the iPad app. Maybe they will include it later. Plus it should be more like a remote. Where's the rewind fast foward and volume buttons.

It just make your tablet a remote contol. It was a dissapointment for me. Hopefully Comcast will rush up with their application. Meanwhile, I'm uninstalling it.

I would assume that with a larger user base (android), it'll give a nice boost to on{X}'s "recipes" which is always a great thing as it will serve as references to other platforms running on{x} in near future
Yield is everything when it comes to such approach (on{X})
Can someone tell me the huge different to tasker oder automateit? It looks like that its the same with programming instead of klicking?
There is just one thing I don't like on this app:
Facebook login and using my private data
Why such app need to do this, and why can't I use other login possibilities?(windows live, google etc?)

you cannot do as much with one ex as with tasker. also you need to do the recepies on your pc and then push to your phone and as retsam88 said, you have to log in via facebook. so, tasker is the better solution for me.

Of course it's important if a tablet is being used by a parent & his kids! or other scenarios.
Looks simplistic, needs evaluation but I find it easy to configure as compared to much cluttered interface ofnetguard app which I use. Plz provide promo code. thanks in advance.

I see. However, there's nothing stopping them from uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, or disabling the VPN permission, or many other ways to bypass such a password if they really wanted.
