Milhouse on PPCGEEKS let us know about a promo code for 10% off and free shipping if anyone is interested...thanks to him!

I'm hoping I can fit the case in my Seidio holster...
Otterbox had their (old) office on the same floor as one of my clients here in Fort Collins. Pretty sure I have ridden in the elevator with Curt (their CEO) a few times.
Anyways, they make great stuff, and I just wanted to toss in my /2cents to support one of our local success stories. Their Hero case looks solid, and I look forward to hearing back from those of you that ordered one.

WTF .. nice way to post the code over the weekend you one ways! my order already shipped after 3 hours and i cant use the code! GEERRRRRRRRR
Wow this looks like a deal for a nice looking case with a screen protector. I usually hate cases but this doesn't look half bad. When people test some of these out, I'd like to know how much bulkier it feels, and how slippery the touchscreen is. I don't tend to like the plasticy screen protectors, I'm more a fan of the rubbery ones. I think sweaty fingers slide easier on them.

That is true but the fact remains they are poor waterproofers.
Double wrap.
Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't dream about taking my Hero on an outdoor trip. I would ESN swap via the website to a cheapo disposable phone.
Come on, do you really need to check your email while fishing or hunting? GPS is the only reason I could see to have it, but if you spend as much time outside as you say you do, don't you already have a portable GPS unit?
Anyway, back on topic... I ordered one of these on Friday when I got the email. Used Google to find a different 10% off code. This case definitely looks like a nice one that will last!

Bring plenty and some hefty bags too. And no, I dont spend that amount of time, and if I did, I wouldnt bring my phone on a boat or canoe or kayak. And yes, I am a smartass.

A) i dont have a junk phone to swap to as i just switched to sprint in nov.
B) i frequently use the google maps and gps function on the phone when i am in my kayak to determine which cut i should go down when exploring new areas.
C) yes i do have a seperate gps BUT it does not have the mapping capabilities.
D) i also use the pdf viewer sometimes to check on boundaries and regulations to the particular area i'm in.
On a side note i was in my kayak about two weeks ago just drifting with the wind browsing this site when my oakleys fell off my head and into the water on the same side. Not really thinking i reached down with the hand holding my phone and grabbed my glasses. Basically the lower third ( up to rigt above the keys) got submerged. I opened up the cheap $10 hard case it was riding in, powered off the phone and pulled the battery. I put the heater in my truck on high on the way home and dried out my hero and all is now well

I can't find my N1 sleeve. Does anyone want to go give/sell me their sleeve if you don't use it?
Can I buy one anywhere online?
EDIT: I'm willing to trade my unused black Innocase for the Android sleeve.

Hehe, thanks buddy. Unfortunately, I've looked everywhere with no luck. The sleeve is a necessity for me since I refuse to use a case or screen protector.
Get a new sleeve? Something lightweight and not leather. It'll likely be a while before Google starts selling those in their store, if they ever get around to it, and I'm only letting go of mine if you pry it out of my cold, dead hands.
I lost my sleeve too! I remember exactly where I lost it, but it's not there. Doesn't really make sense huh?
I got this one to replace it (I hope I find the original!)

Somebody please post a review of the SFbags Nexus One sleeve. I love their laptop bags (neoprene), but I'm wondering if the suede is enough shock protection.

No, but I surround myself with gun-toting bodyguards in black.
Wish Google'd start selling Android merchandise really, I'd be happy to shell out for an extra sleeve if mine ever gets torn/misplaced. And that Android plushie.
I'm still looking for a sleeve. I will paypal $5 for shipping if someone is willing to send me their sleeve that they don't use. I promise to pay it forward too.

I just purchase it too, couldn't resist when I saw the other price of 1.49 a few days ago..I hope it doesn't leave any marks on the screen when removed..
Why is there a notch in the upper left part of the screen protector?
that's where the light sensor is so I assume it's to avoid any interference with it.
Ahh, I wonder how it'll affect the look of it on your phone.
Yeah I purchased these from the seller when I got my Nexus One about a month or so ago. They fit perfectly and are pretty easy to apply. They're pretty clear and have held up great so far. I've only used one and it's still not showing many scratches or dings or anything in the protector itself , even under heavy use.
Honestly I feel it's the best $1.00 I've spent in a long time.

Just curious, are these 'reusable'. ie: peel it off, rinse it in the water, and put it back on? (kind of like the ones you get with invisible shield)

My sentiments exactly. I have a generic waist bag with a clip on it for normal, every-day use; I use the android slip for whenever I'm in formal wear; and I want to use this for at the gym (since I use workout programs on the phone and the stock headphones with track control anyway).
Well go for it and let me know how it is I need a new one soon because in 2 days I'm starting my P90X workout again and Love to listen to the perfect beat of music for it.

LOL someone doesn't exercise!!!
Let us know how it goes OP.
Is it secure?
I'd love to get an armband for running (ahh, love California) but worry about it falling out and just being heavy while swinging my arms.
pls let us know how it works while running!
I ordered one too so I'll let you guys know how it works when I receive it!
It's fantastic. Not only is it comfortable and fits the phone perfectly, but has just enough "give" that I can view a text message or look at what routines or weights I should be doing, and even type SMS responses (though I usually just go the lazy method and use voice input). I've also been using the stock Android headphones, so I clip the cord to the armband using the supplied clip (and I wrap the slack around the back of the phone). When I'm done, I pop the phone out of the silicone sleeve and toss it in my gym bag.
As far as the weight goes, the phone itself is the heaviest part, but it feels no heavier than my second generation Zune did. It IS kinda bulky, but hasn't gotten in the way of anything yet, and I don't expect it to. Just situate it on the very side of your arm, and it really can't interfere with anything. It does feel very secure, requiring a fair amount of "tug" to get the phone out of the silicone sleeve....not too much or too little, just right....definitely not gonna fall out, though - besides, if you have headphones in, the headphones themselves provide a natural tether to keep the phone in the silicone.
I've been a bit busy this last week (I just graduated from college on Sunday =D), which is why I don't have pics up, but if I remember, I'll pull the sleeve out of my gym bag when I come home tonight and take some pics for you guys. To me, this thing has been worth every penny.
How tight is the fit?
Do you think there would be problems with fitting a phone in that had a clear protector skin on it? I'm currently using the BestSkinsEver.com one.
And congrats on the graduation! Just graduated myself this past summer!
Thank you for this, I wonder when they were gonna make one of these I hate putting my nexus in my pocket while working out... We need this to show it off. lol.
I have a full body shield from Skinomi on mine and it fit just fine. As I said, it felt snug enough to be secure with just enough "give". Also, when you have headphones in, those act as an anchor.
Had to do my brakes and change over my brother's tires, so no pics today...hopefully tomorrow.

Here's the one I use when I go running:
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-S305-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B002BH3I9U
No wires!!! I love it!!!
It can even do calls too!
I'll have to look into it, everyone I've tried has been tinny and I can't stand not having good quality music
-Charlie
Motorola's and Sony's are generally pretty good quality.
Pics at long last!!!
Oh, and remember, I have a skinomi shield on my phone...so this case definitely works with protectors.
Case by itself:
Case with phone in it (note the holes for all corresponding ports):
Obviously, it's pretty secure:

I just bought these:

I will post if they are kosher and perfectly suited for this phone upon arrival...
Pouches are a bit of a pain, and I like the "snap, and pop" of quick access to the phone (as I FW all calls from my work phone).
I also just bought one should be here Friday HOPEFULLY
Cant wait to see if its as good as it looks

Sweet! All I need now is a beer gut and a tucked in shirt to go with my new belt holster, all the 40+ year olds will be red with envy
You bet'cha! Keys in one picket, Large battery eCig mod in the other. The phone would kind of get scratched in either.
Now IF I got a pocket protector... hmmmm.
Quick access to the phone, as I FW: all IT support call calls to my cell, and am a former Nextel user, it only makes since.
Pouches are a bit "iPhruity"-er... No quick access to PR0N.
Hahahaa. My beer-gut matches other people's "Trailer-Mom's"...
Oh, and you ARE welcome.
http://www.cellphoneshop.net/t839holster.html
They are on sale for $1.39 right now!!!
I don't know what shipping would be, but $1.39 sounds good, and this is the same one as I got 3/$20 for off of eBay, I wish I saw them here BEFORE buying off of eBay.
The only issue is that they are Screen-Out clips, but they work pretty well screen in and it does not touch the screen surface.
I thought they would be crap, but it turns out that they are built pretty solid, but do tend to spin even with the ratcheting swivel. I did superglue mine sideways as I have on every other belt clip I have ever owned (from Nextel days until now).
Sweet, this'll help me save money for juice for my eCig

One hell of a steal! I've heard bad things about those tho. Like there is a gap between the two pieces meaning it could more easily come apart if dropped thus allowing water or anything to intrude the case coming into contact with the device. Other than that it would have been my second choice but that was a deal breaker for me.

tried it for the 1st time yesterday for the Spartan Beast in temecula! yes there is a gap when u try to close it. but taking the back cover off ur phone fixes this. i was really iffy about using the case. as i never tested it. took the back case off. used the atlas case and it seals completely. used it the whole race through mud water and the swamp. stayed dry the whole time. quite happy with it. + it has a small part on the case u can put a lanyard!
about people mentioning the sound being drowned or anything because of the case seal. watching my videos it doesnt seem that much. my voice is clear and so are the people around me. havnt tried it for voicecall yet.
