Is it possible to install a custom ROM to a Telus Touch Pro2? - Touch Pro2 CDMA

I recently got a Touch Pro2 from Telus (Canadian provider) and I was wondering if it is still possible to install a custom ROM to it. Thanks in advance for the answers.

ppcgeeks.com seems to be the cdma friend of XDA. go there look under touch pro 2. theres a developer over there called mighty mike that has telus and does development. great rom in my opinion. also a number of other developers. NRGZ28 is awesome, and so is Mr. X

Yes, you can install custom ROMs on your Telus Touch Pro2 (TP2). I just installed Mighty ROM myself about a week or so ago onto my own Telus TP2. Seems to be very stable and working great so far.
You need to do the following:
1) Install the Hard-SPL for the CDMA Rhodium (links provided again below)
2) Install compatible CDMA Rhodium ROMs (check out PPCGeeks.com forums for the available ROMs)
Links
Hard-SPL (CDMA Rhodium):
1) forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578660
2) forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93252
Good place for ROMs (CDMA Rhodium):

I suggest trying Mighty ROM as your first one as it is a relatively basic ROM, but gets you into the newer Windows Mobile 6.5)
Just follow the instructions carefully and you should be fine.

"Official" HTC TYTN II rom??

Hello, I have looked here for the official HTC TYTN II rom. I want the one that came with the device or the latest OFFICIAL rom (I don't think that the 6.1 verisions are official, but maybe I'm wrong). This link lists the official roms, but I am not sure which one is the original one??
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs
If I flash the Australia rom, will it work still here in the US? This looks like the latest official rom, but I really want the WWE version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=346267
Also, I have a TILT and I am going to HardSPL and SIM unlock, which one do I do first?? I had the 8525 and I remember doing the SIM/CID unlock first I think?
Do I need to use this SuperCID and Security unlock as well if all I want to do is flash new roms and SIM unlock??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236
Oh, I almost forgot, why do some people post the .rar files and not the .exe, so much easier using .exe isn't it??
Thanks!!

The rom your phone came with if it is a tilt is one of the att ones on the site your first link leads to.
Hadspl and simunlock, don't matter which you do first just make sure you hardspl before trying to load a cooked rom from this site (and trust me it's worth going with a cooked rom over the att variants)
No supercid needed on the kaiser.
rar is much smaller then exe (rar is an archieve that has the files compressed)
Hello there! I just got off the phone with HTC tech support. They say they have no "official" release for WM6.1 and no date for a release either.
Also, they told me the newest "official" rom= 1.56.405.5
And radio= 1.27.12.11
Which is found here: http://rapidshare.com/files/5781641...dio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.rar.html
Anyone know how to get this in the .exe format?? I am a bit of a noob and I am used to using the .exe format to flash.
BTW manimore, I know what you are saying about the cooked roms, and I would definitely go with them over the AT&T crap; however, I like the look and reliability of the "official" HTC roms, like the one for the TYTN II.
Do we have any official HTC TYTN II roms besides the one above that the tech guys at HTC don't know about??
Thanks for the advice!
Manimore, I just reread your post. I was talking about official TYTN II roms, not anything for the Tilt.
What about this one?
1.83.631.4 (radio 1.27.15.32) Rogers Rom found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364789
Is this also a WWE official release for TYTN II?? What is Rogers??

Rogers is the only GSM carrier in Canada. However, they don't currently offer the TyTN II, last time I checked (I was at a dealer yesterday, and looked on the website as I composed this post), so I'm not sure what to make of this.
Rogers is a weird beast, in some areas they are far ahead of the competition; We have name display (like a landline, you'll see the name of the caller as well as the number, when available), unlimited incoming plans (like Europe, but without raping the person calling you), nation-wide 3G (major markets), but in other areas they are way behind the times (handset selection is pathetic at best, account termination penalties of up to $900, customer service reps are all over the map, from don't-speak-English to telepathic, etc)

Topaz help needed

Hello there.
I'm a totally new as for modifying PDAs, and I've been reading the Topaz forums, since I recently got one of those, but I find it really hard to understand the needed steps to upgrade it.
I read about how good the Nataly ROM is, but I know nothing about how to install it. My questions are:
It mentions Windows Mobile v6.5, but my PDA came with v6.1. How can I upgrade it?
What does it mean "manila"? I've seen it mentioned with different versions.
Is there a difference between Nataly's and a radio ROM? Can I use them simultaneously?
Do I need to do anything special to upgrade to these ROMs? I think my phone is SIM unlocked already.
My GSM provider is TIGO, in Colombia.
Thank you very much for your support, and I hope I don't get hated for these questions.
1. to flash a cooked rom u need to hardspl unlock which u can find here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312
for more information go to topaz rom development section
2. manila is the graphical thing with the slider on the bottom
the latest manila is 2.1 and in the new official rom on htc.com
theres another version called sense and available only in cooked roms
3. about the radios: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547276
4. there is no need to sim unlock the phone. u need to flash the hard-spl of olinex (1.83 version )
nobody gets hated for questions just for the laziness of not using the search function
here u can find everything about topaz http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=478

that does look like 2.5 to me and to have energy rom running, you did flash your phone
I really hope someone comes out with a radio rom that allows us to unlock the HSPA 1900 access (since the chip can do it according to its specs) with the new network launching today\tomorrow.
How is the rom? any things lacking that telus had installed? an problems with telus? is it crashier or faster than the stock telus rom?
MightyROM is 6.5 but Manila 2.1. You need to find a 6.5 ROM that includes Manila 2.5, one of the NRG ROMs has 2.5, I believe the LEO ROM. Mighty Mike is on Telus so I have to assume it works fine on Telus. He's also rumored to be coming out with a 2.5 ROM in the future, but for now all he's got is 2.1
Yes, you're definitely using the new version of Manilla 2.1 and not 2.5. I use NRGZ's Leo rom and I love it. It's winmo 6.5 and manilla 2.5.
Be aware that 2.5 is BETA and will have bugs. the roms with manilla 2.1 are much more stable. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Leo rom, there's just a couple of little things that aren't quite right (such as having to use winmo messaging if you want to MMS).

Do I need a CDMA ROM
Thanks for everything guys. this is exactly what I was looking for as an answer.
Do I need a CDMA ROM to fit on it ? or any rom found on the Rhodium blog can be use ?
if you have a link regarding the rom you think I should be using please post it.
Again thanks for helping me on that. I can feel i'm getting addicted to flashing my tp2....
cheers guys!
I haven't checked the Rhodium Rom section here, so I could be wrong, but it used to be only GSM versions. To be safe, if you want 6.5 and 2.5, use the rom found at this link.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86489
Also, once you've flashed it, check out the FAQ here.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1280306&postcount=18
By the way, he has 2 different builds. Version 21864 is more stable and based on winmo 6.5. Version 23081 is based on an early beta of winmo 6.5.1 so it's not as stable and has a few more bugs. Not to say it's not worth a good flash though.
Good luck, and enjoy.
Kevin
many thanks!
thats awesome.
this community rocks.
regards,
if you dont like all the blue there is another leo (2.5) rom for you. while at ppcgeeks in the cdma tp2 upgrades. check out the juicy rom. hes also on telus
woot woot
this works perfectly.
i got my phone up and running. this is awesome.
I hope my post will help others!
best regards to all of you guys

update telus snap s510.. help me!

hello, i discopvered that I have a telus snap s510. And it have the sim unlcok:
Is tehre a mode for sim unlock? IOf not I will buy without problems a code on internet for unlock it.
2nd question:the hard spl must I use hard spl for s511?
3rd question: I'd like have italian rom, can i install the offiacil htc upgrade rom in italian?
Thank you very much
1. You have to buy the code to unlock it.
2. HardSPL is the same as for the Verizon Ozone (CEDA100)
3. I don't think there are any Cedar ROMs in Italian. You may be stuck with english.
Be advised that using Verizon ROMs will mess with the keyboard layout. Once I get some free time, I'll look into cooking a Telus 6.5 ROM (if they don't release one).
does the rom Run RUU_Captain_S_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.2_Radio_Signed_MAPL E_61.36t.25.29H_3.47.25.29_Ship.exe work on my telus htc snap?
Becaus eof this version tehre is also an italian version

I have a Telus S510 that I am now using on AT&T network. Is it ok to install the 3volution ROMS from this website...I assume they will change to the Ozone style keyboard, but will everything else be ok?

I had a 3Vo 6.5 rom installed. The keyboard did change to ozone layout (easy to fix through remapping), and I found the wifi to be kind of flaky compared to the stock telus rom.
