Has Google Streetview stopped working in v4.0 of GMM?
Or is this an issue with the Leo?
On my Touch Pro I would just hold the stylus to the screen and a menu popped up with Street view as an option.
On the HD2 I can't see, to get to this. A finger on the screen brings up the address of where I am touching and a small picture that looks like it could be Street View, but I can't select it.
It this my fat monk fingers or has it stopped working on the Leo or in this version of GMM?
If it is still there, I'm guessing it doesn't work with the compass yet (for turning the view).

I have never been able to see streetview, never ever, its not listed under layers on any street ive ever pressed, I just presume that the google car hasnt been round huddersfield yet.
Seconded on the icons, i want them ones

was curious when i saw this post. I dont get street view near me either as i dont live in a city. I can confirm that street view is available in London but i havent tried other cities. I just held on the map until the location was displayed and then clicked that to get more options and one was streetview. im presuming other cities such as Liverpool and Manchester may have street view also.

i had this issue before.this is caused by another app you have instaled on your HD2.some apps seems to replace font for google maps.i know it is bad news but you will have to find out whitch one it is by try and error.install and uninstall.sorry.

That's bad news indeed...i've got a lot of mods done allready. Thanks for your answer I'll try uninstalling some cabs, what worked for you?
Simply uninstalling Googlemaps will also work and is quit less time consuming

reinstalling google maps does not help.it will stay the same.at least it did for me.i would try first some apps which are older or using simple types of GUI.i had this problem with GPS Speedo app as far as i can remember.
I just pressed the screen/card and get a menu. Here you can chose streetview!
I found it yesterday, but its being a bit flaky finding places that I know have streetview (as I've looked at them before on my Touch Pro).
It seems that in this new version (4.0) you hold a finger on the screen and a cross appears. It then automatically tried to find the adress where that cross is.
When it find the address a ballon pops up over the cross with the adress AND a small streetview picture.
Tapping that Streetview picture does nothing!
You have to press the 'Select' softkey at the bottom which brings up a menu.
Briefly, at the moment, I see 'checking streetview' but streetview is not an option on the menu that pops up. Yesterday streetview WAS on that menu.
So... that's where it's gone in the new version, bt it seems to be being a bit flaky at the moment.

just downloaded duttys HTC cab from his webpage and installed it, but all i get is 6 icons at the top of the screen and nothing else (no weather, buttons or anything else)
checked what i have in the today settings, but HTC Home is ticked, but niothing else.
am i missing some plugin's or is my phone acting the fool?
Have you tried soft resetting?
Also, try unchecking home plugin, and rechecking it.
PS:
I was thinking, are you sure you downloaded HTC Home, and NOT HTC Sprint Home.
They are 2 different items, and the sprint one is just icons which take you to specific apps.

Hi:
I have no clue why that is happening to you. Someone more knowledgeable may come along and have other suggestions.
I am using a different Home plugin, I will attach it here for you if you want to give it a try. It is the same as the one you downloaded, only a newer version (2.0) and is working perfectly for me.

It seems I am unable to attach the Home .cab for some reason, go up to search, and look for Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.814.722-schen
It works fine for me.

I could do that, but then someone else would want it the other way. I'm afraid I can't please everyone. I've made it this way so that it works the same as default rotation on the phone.
I'm not at home this weekend, so won't be making any changes, but I suppose I could create a registry entry that allows you to say whether you want left or right handed.
Check back on Monday or Tuesday

There's now 3 versions - left rotate, right rotate, and upside-down (for the 1 person I've seen asking for this )

isnt working for me. Just giving a black screen when rotating. I unzipped on the phone and copied the two files to the windows folder. reset the phone and nothing. it is rotating but just giving me a black screen in the middle of the top and bottom bars.
Any sugestions?

Where are you doing it? It doesn't want to work on manila, but is fine with other applications.

For some (unknown) reason, manila doesn't seem to like being forced into landscape. The upside-down version works fine, but not the landscape versions.
I'll have to do some testing and see if there's anything that can be done, but it doesn't look promising right now.
Edit:
I've had a play and it seems that Manila simply doesn't like landscape, unless it does it itself (photos & videos, music tabs etc..)

How exactly did you set yours up? Don't see an option for it
Install latest maps update and choose maps in live wallapers. Very simple.

Check the market for the latest version of Maps... 4.1 will leave a new Live Wallpaper to utilize...

Thanks, I was looking inside the maps application. Didn't realize it was added to live wallpapers.
Tapping on the maps wallpaper zooms in. Is there a possibility to zoom out again. Cannot find a way.

Yeah, I noticed this too...
only way i managed was to go back to live wallpaper, select the map. Once there by pinch/zoom motion i finally managed to zoom out though took a bit of trying.
needs a fix

Tap with two fingers to get it to zoom out.
Tried to update mine, but I'm getting an error, package file incorrect. I'm on Modaco's custom alpha 15.
Can't get mine updated as I could even find the map...sigh in Malaysia by the way anyone got the apk
Looks like the map wall paper does not use the GPS to find the location. The location on the wallpaper is far off from the correct location. Is there a way to make it use the GPS?

needs 2.1. so it is only working on the nexus one for the moment
I got mine working on a rooted HTC Hero running Damage ROM. It's pretty cool I must admit however I can't zoom out like someone mentioned earlier and it takes the speed boost from the 2.1 upgrade back around the speed of Fresh 1.1. It's cool though, although I feel I will be switching back in forth to my Sense.
Single tap with two fingers to zoom out
Double tap with one finger to zoom in
Crashes sometimes...

EDIT 2: There's one thing not working: Settings of the app. I don't think it's a bug, there's probably another Ally apk which contains the Socialite app settings.

yep, its to big for my hero, i think becuase the resolution is different on the ally.

To those who have tried this app on an appropriate sized device (480x800, 480x854, etc), does the facebook tab work as it should? Does it update with your facebook profile picture at the top of the widget, and when you click said picture, does the "Update your profile" box pop up?

Is it me or do I alway have to update Twitter / Face manually? I doesn't seem to update the feeds automatically. And since there is no way to get to the settings screen I can't see if there is an auto-sync feature.

I couldn't find it either, but I did find one called Advanced map that lets you select from a number of different map sources. Best part is that it's free. Here's the description:
