like i already mentioned in "Windows Mobile Development and Hacking" Forum (link) im looking for a manilla instant messenger as a tab in TF3D. I really like this idea and i hope someone can develop it

-There would be many ways to realise this idea. It could be one tab for all protocols (multi messenger) or it could be one tab a protocol like one icq tab, one msn tab ... so everyone can install just the one he wants.
-A history would be usefull to see what you were talking about with the last person
-file transfer support
-open weblinks
-copy paste
-click on a contact and the screen in the tab slides to a conversation mode
if you have ideas just post them and i add it to the list. maybe it helps someone who wants to program it

This would be great, BUT, i don't think it is possible to create such a big messenger in pure LUA
I don't know if Manila can load dlls, IF not this would be impossible ...

Try to install the WM 2003 alpha version 1.02b of PointUI Home.
And you will see the difference !
For all frenchies, a french version is avalaible here (cab all in-one, simplified installation !).

The screenshots above are some ideas for new features to the program. I installed this program; it is simple and nice User Interface. Very well done and the best thing is that is totally made for WM2003. My Magician is another phone now. Some minor bugs that I consider acceptable for an Alpha release. I think it is worth to try. Things that I like: Lock when turn on device, "Touch like" navigation, Turn on Bluetooth just when the Phone Rings and Off automatically when you hang up, nice call history list. Things to be improved: New Dial Pad Skin, Messages and Contacts List like the call history list, On the Running Applications; it could give you the option to Stop them. Just waiting for new releases with improvements for this nice work.

1. Choose any picture (jpg file) you want to put on .ui Home background
2. Rename this file bg.jpg
3. Copy this file in the Home folder (by default) : \Program Files\PointUI\Home\1.02b\
4. Stop and re-start PointUI Home

You don't need TouchFlo on your device to use this cube.
To launch it quickly, I'm using a hardware button which point to the link Cube SCLPC++.

VPro releases PIGEON! ICQ messenger in English, the first finger-friendly ICQ client. Main features:
-Touch-oriented interface: slide your fingertip in contactlist window horizontally to browse contacts or vertically to browse the preview of conversation. In conversation window horizontal slide allows you to browse conversation.

Hm, i cant click on any link i get from my contacts and i cant mark the link itself to copy it into Opera. Is that a feature by design or a bug? And why are my contacts all numbers? Pigeon only shows about 10% of the nicknames of my contacts...

HTC Home with SPB Mobile shell HOME icons only. (only way i know how to get icons on my home screen was via spb..)

IT IS OKAY, not bad actaully. Still some issues. But not bad at all.

Winterface, wow i really love this.
My major issue is, it has no today plug-in so I always find myself back at the windows today screen all the time.
Other lame issue is their SMS app and contact app and photo app, they could have integrated those standalone apps way better into a single product.
Overall vito's app suite looks promising.
Anyhow,
My question is what other mobile shells are there? Is there anything out there close to winterface but better? I really like it. Overall anymore finger friendly things? Post/link me to other apps. Please give me thoughts.... and ideas...

Not a bad thread, nice to have all the various options laid out.
As you have HTC's Home plugin for the Today screen included, you may also want to add Pocket Digital Clock (just a nice, lightweight clock) in combination with your launcher of choice such as UltimateLaunch or MortButtons.

Well the Outlook Calender on WM 6.0 has this great week view but it doesn't have the feature to mark different categories. I would be really happy If anybody would have or know a hack or knows what to do about it. I know the registry hack to display names of appointments in the block but it doesn't come in handy.
I've tried out:
- Pocket informant 8 - it has the week block view but it sux!
- Agenda One
- Agenda Fusion
- SBSH Calendar Touch 2
- SBSH PocketBreeze
- Spb Diary
(The last two are actually today plugins, but can be used also as PIM)

Oh I see. xda developers is another forum where no support is given on a tiny bit complex questions. All this cream de la cream developers of software for mobile units here on xda and no answer, how pityful for such a well known site. They are breaking up HTC's and Cooking ROM's, do lot's of great stuff, but no one tried to write something for this damn outlook calendar to display categories in colors! No rather then that they are always playing with this TouchFlo crap and so on...

It may well be that there is nothing else to work the way you want and instead of a series of "Sorry don't know" ,people are staying quiet. I was one.
Personally i use ThumbCal, doesn't do colours but does do diary stuff well and is finger friendly.
1 and a half year in this forum and 5 posts.... Whats YOUR contribution to the site buddy? May be you could have tried what you are looking for and shared it with us?

I have a response from HTC in Dutch
They said it would maybe get solved in WM6.5
And the guy said he has send the request to the developers of HTC.
I send him a email back with the message WM6.5 won't solve it because it's a problem in TF3D.
And now i'm waiting for a response back

i have lots of MP3 on my Topaz, in TF3D it takes about 10-15 seconds until it shows up (I guess because of the album pictures).
If I want to browse through the tracks it takes a lot of time to get to the Letter where I want to go.
This would be great!
I'm having the problem too that it's shows up really late..
And i asked HTC if they could make a .cab file for it..
They only sad they had send it again to the developers
So probably no cab file but maybe in the new manila versions
I hope they can do it

They don't know sure it there is coming a cab file or it will be build in the new roms...
They only know that the guy has send a request to the developers..
So maybe a developer here can make a cab file for us?
