[REQ] More contacts in PEOPLE section

Hi to everybody!
Anybody know if there is a cab or a way to increase the 15 contacts icons in people section?
Just doing something similar to the 16 or 20 shortcut for the main page of manila.

16 shortcuts in home tab: 16 shortcut for Manila 2.5
16 or 20 shortcuts in home tab + extra features: Max Manila 2.519202525 Ultimate

its easy enough to find hacks for the home tab to increase shortcuts but has anybody done this to the people or internet tabs? also, is there any way to put non manila apps on the slide at the bottom of the screen?

Its so easy to increase shortcuts in internet tab, i hope it will be easy to do the same thing in people tab, it could be greate.

plz explain how to do this. is it possible to resize the tabs? coz now theyre too big to fit many on the screen at the same time, makes it kinda impractical to use. its almost as easy to just load opera and use your favorites.

There is no way to resize the tabs just increase the number.

Change from 10 to 12 or 14 or 16 or 18 etc etc

Dude do a search, there is numerous threads regarding this, you can have 12, 16 20 and soon 25 quicklinks.

It can be a bit difficult searching on here when you are new but the previous poster is right. Use this...http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all and search for Quicklinks. You should find what you are looking for.

I have updated the ROM to 1.66.408.1 (ITA) wich include Manila 2.5.19211619.0. I could not find something that is working properly. I tested a lot of the versions from this site with 16 shortcuts, no one is working OK. If i try to remove a shortcut, it does not removes the icon.. in the Start Menu, i found double icons of htc tweeter, people, music, calendar & footprints. It's not working OK not even the one claiming to be made for Manila 2.5.19211619.0. I tested even the one for Manila 2.5.1922, but it does not show any icon at all..
So, which one is the right solution for this ROM, even if it is wit 16, 20 or 25 shortcuts?

Hi, I don't mean to Kijack this thread. The quicklinks tweak is good but the buttons get smaller. Is it possible to add more quicklink button of the same size and res of the stock one . I don't want 4x4 etc I would like say 2 pages of 3x3.

I have switched to the 20 one from 16 mainly because you can remove links after the initial 9 with the 20 one [5x4] but with 16 [4x4] you had to unistall and reinstall to remove links 10-16.
Pity as I prefer the icon size with 16

Start Menu Layout?

Just wanted to know is there a way to change the layout out the of the start menu icons?
Mine is currently in a row of 3 . . .the right and left one's on the same level and centre just below. .
Can this be changed at all?? so maybe all icons are at the same level and in different rows??

He's not asking for 4 row hexagon, he wants the icons all aligned in a standard x,y axis grid. Basically, no, this cannot be done. You can alter the size of the icons/text, and the number of columns, but not the 'hexagon' effect, except;
There is one setup that lists all of your start menu icons in a single vertical list, similar to how your contacts are listed. I don't have a link to that .cab, but if you have a quick search on here and/or google I'm sure you'll find it.

That list view is called AwesomeStart. Because it's, y'know, awesome.
Edit: Here, turns out I still had it in the Cabs folder on my SD card.

Not sure if it's possible. The 3x4 + 3 layout is nice though.

I think you have to search the relating "manila" file in the Windows folder and edit some xml.
3 cols would be interesting for me, too

I checked many *.xml files in Windows folder. Many of them are for the Menu-Dialogues (add/remove Item... foo...) But I cannot find any xml that relates to the structure of the internet tab.
In registry, there is only the possibility to change the amount of the tabs.
Must look like the xml file of the grid-scene of the WM startmenu...

You can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6588359&postcount=4591, but scrolling don't work properly.

A Solution...
Manila files are from amarullz's post here. I simply cab'ed them. Works perfectly on my device and I still have 12 total tabs (not 9 as noted in the above post.)
To Install:
--> Download and install "Manila_Internet_3_Columns.cab"
To Uninstall:
--> Uninstall the above
--> If that doesn't work, install the "Manila_Internet_2_Columns.cab"

yeah, now that i play with the tabs, scrolling is a tad weird - on occasion, though! it seems to get it moving i have to flick the top part (where it says "launch browser") first and then all is good.
some quick reads on editing manila text files (looks like you can open them with a text writer). haven't read them thoroughly, though:

the registry mods work.
default is 10, which gives total of 12 tabs (4 lines of 3).
changed it to 12, and gave me 15 tabs (5 lines of 3).
odd numbers default to the even number below it.
seems endless.

not that i have found. switched up to energy's rom and it seems better...have gotten used to it though.

Because of the scrolling issue, I never scroll, but I would like to know how to remove the globe!
Then we could use 9 instead of 6 tabs

i liked your idea so i tried it. removing the globe is easy, though nothing changes. would need to remove the entire top section. that is beyond me...maybe in some mode9/ lua or other file i know not how to edit!
if you still want the blank icon look for some reason i have attached the cab i made.

But yes, I indeed meant to remove the whole "Launch browser"+globe, and place the first 3 tabs there.
