Hello Purple Drama Llama,
I am a representative of RearthUSA. We are a recently launched company in the U.S., and we are seeking consumer responses to our products so that we can revise them in order to better suit your preferences. We are currently trying to improve our Season 1 Nexus S Case. As you are a highly respected member among the XDA Developers Forum Community, we would like to mail you a case free of charge so that you can test and use our product in order for us to gain some valuable consumer feedback. You may choose any color you want from the following list on our site - http://rearthusa.com/products-page/ringke-gadget-cover/nexus-s/.
We would highly appreciate your comments, concerns, and suggestions in regard to our Nexus S case. If you enjoy our product and feel that it is something worth sharing with other members of the community or that they might benefit from its use, then we would truly appreciate you taking the time to post a review on the forum so that other members have the opportunity to view it and deliver their feedback as well. Provided is a link to another Feedback Program we offered for the Evo 4G - http://www.evo4gforum.net/htc-evo-4g-accessories/ringke-case-from-rearth-usa/.
If you are interested in assisting us to develop a top-quality product then please feel free to respond to me via email at - [email protected] Once you have confirmed with me your color choice and provided your shipping address, we will ship the case out to you immediately. Thank you very much for all of your time and consideration of this message. We look forward to hearing from you.

seems too shady. i wouldnt give my address out like that
report it to a moderator and they'll do the appropriate actions to the user
It is a legit company and all. I bought my keyboard cover for the macbook from them on ebay and they have some video reviews of it on youtube. A lot of user reviews (who got it for free), so I'm not surprised that they are giving it away to get a review in return.
Ask him for a phone number or refer him to the user who recently made a video of the Casemate Pop case in the accessory section.

I know its a legit company, I was just concerned because they had 0 feedback from the forum and it I have never purchased anything from them as well as it being a PM here and not something more professional like an e-mail. Oh well. I'd like to get a free case, I may do it.

How do you expect them to email you when you don't allow it via your profile?
Even with 0 feedback, they have to start somewhere. If you don't want to give them your address, then try to get a temporary PO Box, business address, or something similar. It can't really be a scam if you're only going to give them your name and address (well, none that I have heard of yet using just those two information).

That seems way too much work just to get a free case.
And you seem pretty open to a stranger asking for your name and address. Sorry but this is the internet, gotta be cautious.
If you really need a case, I'd recommend the Case-Mate Pop case. There's a coupon in the Pop thread that reduces it to $27
I think there's a marketplace they can post in instead off spamming forum members.

How'd you get that idea? If you work somewhere you could use that address. Oh and I know it's the internet, what do you think I'm using right now? Also, what's too much work? Registering on a forum? Copy/pasting the letter and edit the name? Is it so rare for a company to have a rep register on a forum?
Anyways, I agree that it seems shady and all, but a quick Google search led me to this xda member receiving the product. Of course, he's the only one so far that I can find via quick search.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914272
And then Rearth's official blog posted that review along with other user reviews plus the link to the review (most to AndroidForums):
http://rearthusa.com/blog/?cat=120
You could just give them a call and ask for Blake.

It's the OP's choice anyways, you can send him my way if you don't want to do it. I'm kind of interested on how good this case is after looking at some reviews of the Evo version.

If i worked for a company, I wouldn't be suspicious by mass emailing users of a forum telling them to send me their addresses. It's just not very trustworthy.
It's the internet, people can pose as other people. Again, this is just for a free case, you shouldn't have to go through a WHOLE hassle process just to verify something. They could just went to the market place or the general forum and make a general post in regards for people to test out their product.
Approaching users of a forum via Private Message is not a good practice. It's suspicious. Especially when they never made any posts or contributed to XDA. They have no recognition around this community.
I could easily make a spoof account and say im a representative from Case-Mate and that I want you to test a upcoming case that we haven't announced. I want you to test our Case-Mate Barely There case before we announce it.
Would you easily just give someone your address? It could be a friend of yours who simply hates you and wants your address. It's not a smart idea to be so free to give your address away.
Ordering something online? Yeah. If they're a massive corporation and its something I can trust, I have no fear of giving my address away. To a stranger? not happening.

I understand why it seems shady, didn't I say that in my previous post? *Looks back* Why yes I did. So no need to waste your time to explain it. Geez.
Anyways, I provided information for the OP to go by. So that's that. It's his choice to make anyways. If you consider a quick 2 minute search such a hassle, then okay whatever, that's just you.
In reply to the suspiciousness regarding the method of contact. I apologize if it made anyone feel uncomfortable. Additionally, I didn't mass spam anyone. I sought through the entire forum and selected around 10 individuals who I felt would contribute a worthy review to the community. I could post my own review of the product but that doesn't carry as much credit does it?
Again, I apologize for this chosen method of contact. However, you won't have to worry about that method anymore in the future. We are setting up our official review request option on our new Website, and we will allow users (such as yourselves) to come and request to review one of our products if you like. But of course, we will only select a number of reviewers per week and will include only those individuals we feel will truly post a worth while review for others to view.
And I assure you all that I will be contributing much more to this community from here on out.
Well, we will see if its a scam, If he wanted my address he can easily look that up on the web. (note sarcasm)
doesn't sound like a scam, just a company trying to get xda publicity for their product by sending out a few free ones. op has over 2k messages to his name, so has some reputation here. you should actually be kinda honoured. if in doubt, set up a new email address and contact them asking for a phone #.
it's called marketing and all that jazz

Probably not a scam. I bought their case and love it. Great service as well. Consider yourself lucky to have the opportunity to receive a case in exchange for a review.

Yes I'm pretty excited. New phone and a free case, sounds good to me. I'll also do a case mate pop case and incipio feather review.
im eyeing product on both http://www.simplyelectronics.net & http://gadgetfreakz.co.uk but can find little online indicating they're safe.
i believe a sticky list of trusted retailers would be a good idea with so many sites offering the goodies we love
Simplyelectronics is trust worthy. I bought my Xperia Mini Pro from that site. I phone came a bit late from what they said, but I did get it and the customer service was perfect.
I haven't heard about the site Gadgetfreakz. Though to check if they are trustworthy, check if you can pay through PayPal and on this site TopCashBack, type in Gadgetfreakz and check if anything comes up. Hope this helps
This is the single i've been looking for with my One X when it comes to accessories, anybody have a clue where I can buy it from and how much? (USD).
I'm looking for this as well.

I already have a tracking number from them about 2 hours after I placed the order. I'll update once I get it in the mail in two days.
I have a Samsung MHL adapter that does the same thing and i paid $18 on ebay for it.
Is there any difference?

HAHA WIN! Please do a review once you guys get your hands on them!
Great to see our coupon being spread around, it is in fact available until May 16th.
In some cases, we lose money - like the HTC Media Link, with the discount it is below our cost. Why do we offer it? We're doing a little benchmark.
In Canada we're #1 in Telecommunication accessories. We're the largest distributor and often have exclusive rights to some products / pricing.
In USA we're part of the Top 5 in accessories.
Our website uses minimum 128-bit encryption, so you can be rest assured that it is secure. If you want the extra security, simply checkout with PayPal and get the Buyer Protection from PayPal.

In response to resellerratings.com - this website is not a great source for the real reviews. Why? Because this website allows anyone to register and submit a review. If you read them, a lot of them are around the same time with the slightly altered writing. I will say we've caught a few of our competitors trying to slander our name, and we've confirmed many of submissions were in fact submitted by them.
If you want the real deal - check out the reviews from ACTUAL customers.
Visit our website and check out our ratings from; Amazon, Shopping.com and PriceGrabber. (located at the bottom of every page)
You'll see we range between 4 and 5 stars. Average rating of 4.75.
Rest assured we're here to offering the best products, the best pricing and most of all a personalized customer experience.
Best part? Spend $100, you get $10 back for more accessories as part of our loyalty program. Also get additional points for reviews, inviting friends and more.
Thanks for taking the time to hear us out for what we really are.
If I got this straight this will allow you to mirror you phone via wireless on any tv that has an HDMI port. Is this correct? If it is than this is awesome. You can turn any tv with an HDMI port into an android system

Will you be carrying the HTC Car StereoClip anytime soon ?
Thx
I got mine and just finished testing it out. So far this is what it's like:
-The feature to be able to still use the phone be able to lock it during video playback only applies to when you're viewing videos and photos through the gallery app or streaming video through htc's media hub.
-When watching videos saved locally on the device it seems to run totally smooth.
-When streaming, the video is smooth, but the audio quality is off. Whenever someone talks it sounds like they took a lung full of helium. I tried this on netflix, youtube (app and browser), as well as some other video sites.
-The thing that'll probably be a problem for me the most is that during video playback, I experienced popping noises from the audio (both streaming videos from the internet and watching locally stored videos). Hopefully this can fix this with a software update.
Besides those points above, setting up was insanely easy. Just plug it in, push the button to turn on and swipe three fingers up on the phone. That's it!
Edit: Just tested netflix again and now everything is perfectly fine. Sound is perfect with no odd sounding voices and no popping. Totally perfect!
This website has deals on it that seem slightly too good to be true. But it looks legit.
I've tried researching the site using google but nothing of worth is coming up. What do you guys think?

Mate, the normal Z5 should only be £550-£560. Haven't looked at the site but I'd say they're dodgy.
Before I buy from a website I've never heard (or seen) of I usually check their facebook page first, if they have one.
I checked Nigel O'Hara (with 40k likes) just now (and their Shop Now button went to the website you linked just to make sure it was the same) and all I saw in the comments on their posts was words like con, thieves, give money back and so on.
Also google for reviews, it doesn't look too good
It's a fake site used by scammers.
