My Home Cradle/Charger - Nexus One Accessories

I recently saw this and made sense to me to get the sucker. I have my N1 in front, my iTouch in the back and my wife's SE can be charged on the last remaining slot.
This unit is really small, pretty well belt and comes in black/silver/pink. And they have the 3 or 2 charging slots and come with either a 6 tip package or you can pick and choose 4 tips, according to what you want to charge.
Here's the unit, I got the silver 3 slot version. It has a on/off switch on the back as well in case you want to just turn off the unit when not in use.

The seller, idaptweb.com. Its a great site, but communication is lacking. I received this unit in about a week. Ships from Spain I think.

There's no possible way that can be good for the micro usb port of your nexus. Or any device for that matter. Get your rma ready!

What privacy screen do you have on that iphone in your pic?

That's what I initially thought as well. But to me its pretty sturdy. I have the OEM cradle at work as my backup anyways. But I will continue to monitor it just in case.

It's an iTouch actually. The privacy screen is from proporta.com. They do have iphone privacy screen protectors as well. Its a very well made product IMO.

UPDATE:
I continue to use this "universal" charger at home and have the OEM one at work. I have NOT had any issues with the bottom of the headset. The unit is well made and so is the N1.
Here is another "universal" charger as well. About 100 bux USD on this site but looks pretty contemporary as well. I have not used this one, but from the looks of it, the base is a cushion type base, that gives a bit to hold the devices.

the first charger dock stand thing is almost the ugliest thing i have ever seen posted on the forum, and the pic of the glass one with the PSP on it looks stupid as well..
these types of stands will wear out the micro usb port over time
my .02

Damn, a little malicious, no? LOL
For the asthetics, its ok in my book. Each his/her/it own. You can rub your
.02 up your collective tight twat and ask for change at your local KMart.
As for the wearing down of the port, it may but by the time that happens, I may be on to my next handset. Just my .02

If not for the apple accessories, I would have told you to wait until Energizer released one of those pad-charge-capable batteries for the N1.
Also, if you use the pins instead of the microUSB connector a la desktop/car dock, the phone charges RIDICULOUSLY faster. I've had data, GPS, music, etc. with my phone docked and it still went up 20% in charge during a less than 10 minute trip. I wish I could make something like that up. (It was uncomfortably warm, but definitely usable)

Awesome. I might get one, use this in the empty space created by the new battery panel and use the older battery. Cheap 32GB SD card (BTW: SD cards are ALWAYS cheaper then MicroSD cards and higher speeds )
that looks so much better than those ugly backpacks they had for the g1. I may actually purchase one of these.
when and where can we get these?

Mmmm, imagine that with a built in micro->sd adapter and sim switcher, that would be a _useful_ bit of kit
Really doesn't look that bad for all that extra bat power...
if only it still fit in the desktop dock...
Great find! just finished placing my order. Will compare it with my G1 phone size when my product arrives.
I just ordered one as well.
I'll post my findings and pics once I receive it.
Now all I have to do is find a case for it.
Too bad I already got the Innocase
With that backpack, It's not only that the case won't fit. I won't need a case at all. It will protect the back with the new back cover. The unprotected parts of my phone with that new cover would just be mostly metal and the screen.
Does this still allow you to use the desktop dock? or will I have to take out the extended battery.. put in the old battery and then dock it up?
Post lots of pictures for the rest of us that are still on the fence please!
yo
can u please give me a link where i can buy that sd corverter.. thanks in advance

It works with their dock.
I'm not sure about the factory dock.
It won't work with the factory dock. ANY kind of case won't allow you to fit into the factory dock. There is zero room for additional padding.
I ended up putting my dock behind my dash in my car and just using it as a bluetooth receiver until A2DP works with the BlueStar module (Bluetooth Onstar replacement)
confirmed shipping 2 day. Double the battery power, can't wait. I aint had a phone last me the whole day wit out charging or changing the battery since my first gen razr
I think mine comes in tomorrow. I'll post pics once I get it.
It all depends if signature is required.
Mine arrived yesterday, only had a chance to do a charge last night, will take a closer look tonight.
First impressions are really about the replacement back cover:
It would reasonably easily unlatch and fall off from a bump or a short fall, which means the battery could, in turn, also fall out.
Unlike the original cover, there's no clear window over the camera or flash LED, which means dust/liquid splashes etc get in the holes a lot easier.
I'll have a closer look tonight, the microsd => sd reverse adapter might be a winner for the space in the back cover.

Seidio Desktop Dock-Landcape

I had to use my ebay bux before they expired and got the Seidio desktop cradle, landscape version. In the box is a travel charger and the dock of course. With it, installed the insert already there so that you can use the dock out of the box without a case. The great thing about this dock is that I have the Seidio Active case with kickstand (also have the holster as well but that's another thread lol) and to use this dock all you need to do is remove the insert. Viola! the case fits the dock perfectly!
And another thing for all you guys/gals/ghouls and ghosts.....the dock actually launches the clock or dock mode. I prefer it didn't personally, because the wife hates it when the screen lights up in the middle of the night.
Taking the phone on and off the dock is pretty self-explanatory. You have to pretty much line up the port with the phone so that it seats properly. Any deviation from the angel will just not work.
On the back of the dock is the Seidio logo. When plugged in via AC or USB, the dock has a line that "underlines" the word Seidio. IMO better than any LED blaring.
The only negative I have for this dock, besides the price...which brings me to another topic....craigsdocks.com, my initial PORTRAIT dock, made in the good ol' USA and still going strong and much better build quality IMO, which can be purchased for a few dollars more, but worth it in every way. The only thing is with craigsdocks.com, when docking, those docks DO NOT go into any dock mode, but can be finagled by using a good conditional program like llama profiles.
Now back to topic..lol....the only negative for the Seidio dock is that in my instance, when docked and goes into dock mode, the phone gets too warm for my tastes. I downloaded an app called no dock from the market to keep it from going into dock mode and since then the temp of the phone has dissipated.
Bottom line, would I recommend this dock? For what I paid for it, hell yes. At full retail of 30 usd? Not really, I'd pay about 20 usd shipped.
Here are the pics snapped up today. Enjoy! As usual, post any questions you may have.

I wouldn't advise to buy directly from the retailer unless you have personal preferences to do so. I saved a bunch by looking on ebay from a reputable seller. That reminds me, I forgot to give the seller feedback lol....
I have this dock to, I love it. It works with all the cases I have except for the otterbox that I had. Definitely well worth the 19 dollars I spent on it.

picked up the atrix 2 car dock at at&t for $40

ok, was bummed to find out that both my car chargers didn't work with the atrix 2, so i picked up the car dock today at the at&t store for $40. i'll preface this with the fact that this dock is $99 at motorola, $59 from amazon, but only $40 from at&t.
this is probably the best accessory purchase i have ever made for any device i have ever owned, lol. seriously. it's well constructed, sticks firmly to the windshield (can also mount to dash), the dc plug has 2 ports on it, the usb cable also carries audio and has a 3.5mm jack plug, the dock can accommodate a small case, the usb plug on the dock can be removed and flipped for the 4g and it charges, lol
some pics i took of it tonight

for $40, you can't go wrong. at&t wanted $30 for one of the generic dc plug with a coiled cable things, so for $10 more and 60% less than what motorola wanted and $20 cheaper than amazon, i couldn't pass on the deal.
if you're looking for a car charger or vehicle mount solution, pick this up before at&t realizes their price point is off, lol
You think it would work with the commuter case or not?
Hmm, I almost pulled the trigger but I've already got a gps that does all of that

not sure, if you look at this pic
you can see the insert used to fit a phone without a case, if the commuter is about that thick, then it should work
I have the commuter case and it doesnt work with the hard shell but you can easily put it in there with the silicone case still on it not too much of an inconvenience only takes me about 10 secs to get off the case and put it back on.
I picked mine up today and It works with the Red speck case they sell. its a nice fit too. Im going to look at the multimedia dock and see if it also fits with the speck case.
I've asked this in another thread, so I'm sorry if I'm coming across as annoying...
Can someone who has the car dock and a multi-meter check the resistance value between the usb pins (specifically between pins 4 & 5)? I've made my own dock (I realize I could have bought the dock, but I like making things like this, and I think it turned out fairly nice) but it's still missing the audio out through the usb. I'm still working off the assumption that the car dock mode is triggered via a specific resistor value on the ID pin and the audio out is with pins 2 & 3 (pin 5 is the common ground).
Again, sorry for bringing this up again in another thread, but I still haven't gotten anyone to make the measurement yet.
Thanks!

Desktop Docks work w/case, two flavors

These just arrived:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CEISG3Y/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C4CVTDY/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Black one for me (dark S4), white one for wife (white S4).
Her's has a switch on the back to choose between for charge mode (via micro-usb) vs. audio out mode (via 3.5mm audio cable), mine has a slot to charge a spare battery in the back. It doesn't charge when set to audio-out. The white one came w/two USB cables - one for a power adapter, one for computer.
Our S4s fit easily into the dock w/their cases on (we're using the slim TPU-like cases that Costco includes w/the phones), with some wiggle room on each side and front-to back. The micro-USB connection is tight enough that you have to use two hands to put it in or take it out, which I prefer for safety/stability. (There are comments in the reviews regarding cases the docks work/do not fit.) The docks come w/their own 1.5A charger and cable, but we just connected the micro-USB charging cord that Samsung provides w/the phones to the back of the docks.
The docks come w/an insert that you can leave in for a phone w/out a case, or remove if you are using a case.
The two docks look pretty much exactly the same except for their configuration for battery charging vs. audio out/charge switch, but they come from two different suppliers and have different names. But the source manufacturer certainly looks like it's the same.
For $25 we're pretty happy, takes up very little space on the nightstand, appears to be well enough made, and the fit is good w/the case on, which has always been an issue w/other phones we've owned, not fitting, or not fitting well w/a case on. Would buy these again...

Yeah, the main point of this thread was that these docks work w/out having to remove the case, which for many of us is a must. Taking the case off and putting it back on every day gets very annoying, very quickly.

If you have wireless charging, I can highly recommend the Nokia DT-910.
Furthermore, ATT.com is closing 'em out:
http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/ac...arging-stand-sku6290330.html#fbid=X3oNkaehCXw
Only $10 online if you can find a local retailer that has 'em in stock. I got mine about a week ago and love it. There's even an NFC tag in the base, though it's kinda hard to get it to trigger with many of the third party wireless charging cards.
Charger Stand
I wouldnt get a stand with charger in base, i already had bought one, and the floppy cover for usb doesnt extend all the way out. So basically u would have pop the port cover off everytime, or leave it off, buttttt run the risk of water gettin inside. Wireless charging is the way to go.

Yeah, I would like a stand but this is what I worry about. I see some stands have little extra space for the usb cover but that would require turning the floppy cover 180 degrees while I can safely turn it only 90 degrees. Sure, I can bend it more but I'm afraid (as I often use it in/near water and paid small fortune for the phone ).
Maybe I could buy something like this www.dx.com/p/2-in-1-charging-station-stand-w-battery-charger-for-samsung-galaxy-s5-black-317337 and "dremel" a hole next to usb port to keep the cover 90 degree.
EDIT: I guess I will end up with something like that http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Univ...for-iPhone-Samsung-Smartphone/1854869990.html as I already have similar stand for tablet.
i agree with the cover, it needs to point down, not 180 degrees. if down cases would also work when there is no chance to do 180 with the flap in a case.
Stand mentioned in my previous post. I think I'm getting another one to work.
