I don't know if you're familiar with Wisepilot, but it's a pretty good navigation application. I was wondering if it's available for HTC (HD2). Cause that would be awesome...

Hi All,
I need to buy a new phone but am confused within these 3 phones: iphone 3gs, HTC HD2 and the Nexus one.
My typical use would be surfing, music, pictures and videos, facebook/twitter along with finding and using some nice apps n games.
Which one do you guys suggest ?
Thanks
they would all manage that
Thanx Rudegar for the reply.
I know they all would manage that, guess thats why i came down to all 3.
I really like the HD2 but i have been reading posts that its slow and sluggish when there are more mp3's and sms's loaded into it. is that a generic bug or specific to something faulty ?
Now since WM7 is coming up will new apps and games coming up support WM6.5 ?
Thanks for answering my queries.
Why not throw the HTC Desire into the mix
If it was me I'd go for one of the HTC devices as you'll get support from XDA
As for which device, you need to decide on whether you want WM or Android.....once you've made that decision the choice is simple

Fixed it for you
*Cough*Desire*cough*
If you want Android, then the Nexus is an awesome machine! If you want WM6.5 then the HD2 is your ticket. Both have forum sections here with details & info...
I would choose Leo defiantly!
Any who knows where too find FootPrint Widget for the X10 ? -Mich.
+1 needy software, miss it from htc
you can't, it's a HTC app.. although I'm sure someone will rip it out eventually and make it work on a rooted x10.
I noticed that we have the HTC News app and the HTC Weather widget, but where is the HTC News and Weather app? Has anyone testing this .apk and if so, can you share please?
Thanks
I believe it's actually an Android widget.. but I could be wrong.
Anyway, it's in this thread. I haven't tested it.

Thank you so much Sph33r. That's the one I was looking for. I rooted the Desire ROM onto my N1 immediately and just assumed it was an HTC thing. It does look very HTCish to me.
Hi guys,
I wanted to buy Desire but just found out about HD2 Android development, I really love the big screen of HD2 so just wondering do you think it will be able to run Android as good as Desire in future?

Don't count on it.
Get the HD2 for it's Winmo 6.5.5 which is better than the overhyped android
It's an OS for serious people, not kids who need fart apps.
It does everything you need in a portable device.
You need to decide why you have such a phone though, Anrdoid may be what you need.

Actually WinMO has no future thanks to Microsoft's stupid policies! I used to have a HD2 just traded it since I wasn't able to find a decent VNC Client on it! Just been dying to see Android on HD2, the videos posted today looks really great, it seems developers are near a great working build!
@Eienkei
Try realvnc! There are a lot of VNC-clients
@Topic
Hd2, because it's LCD is better than the PenTile AMOLED!
Leo all the way!!!
Since Winmo 6.5 is dead walking, HD2 depends on XDA-Developers only! Hope they don't let us down!!!
I previously had an HD2 before I bought my Desire and to be honest with some of the ROMs that you can get from here it was almost on Par with the Desire, the screen is gorgeous and I loved being able to use it in landscape, only thing that was a killer for me was the lack of Spotifiy which I use a lot so Android seemed the way to go, but I'd still consider picking up another HD2 again as a plaything if I saw one cheaply.
I could also choose between the hd2 and desire, I chose the hd2 mainly for the huge screen. A friend of mine chose the desire instead of the hd2 because of the better app store for android. I suggest to simply try them out in a shop. To me xda is just as good as the android app store, so I'm happy with my decision.
If what you want is android, get the desire.

I also think so.
They say Desire HD is on the way, it sports 4.3 inch display! It would be amazing! But still, HD2 is here right away!!!
Hi all,
jonasl posted a modded version of the HTC IME quite a while back which worked perfectly with froyo and GB. It is by far the best keyboard I've ever used. It's quick and efficient. I even used it on my sensation (although it didn't fit the screen right) when running GB. Another user greves1 is also looking for this keyboard on AOSP ROMS. (original thread here)
This keyboard crashes every time I choose another word from the prediction list. Is there any fix or way to get this to run smoothly on ICS sense 3.6 (3.32 base)?
I hope there is something that can be done. This keyboard would be a great asset to any HTC user!
i am thinking that it should be relatively easy to pick out the dictionary files for the sense 4 htc_ime, as they are each downloaded individually from htc's servers. don't know why you're getting fc though. im confident that if this doesn't get done for sensation, someone will do it for one x or one s and it can be ported to our device. nice to see someone else interested in this as well, though!
I would offer to help with this project, but I know literally nothing about coding or app development.
it's really not that hard, it's just that not very many people have an interest in it, as most people only use english keyboard, or are happy with some other keyboard to suit their international needs. as i have stated elsewhere, as a Taiwanese company, one thing HTC did absolutely right was the chinese input on their devices. nothing beats htc_ime for chinese input.
Well I'm a relatively quick learner. You reckon we could try tackle this ourselves?
