Develop a RESTful interface. I can't post links yet, but if you look it up in Google, you can find what it is and how to develop one (with php).

I will be putting up new repositories (kernel, device, and vendor) possibly on sunday.
The build still fails (i'll try to have a look into this too).

mmm. I see,will give a try later.
CPU-Z lists the J2 Prime (G532G variant) with a MT6737T board and a MT6735 hardware. Don't know whym
G532G also runs on Android Marshmallow, so a LOS 13 port might be better, but LOS 14 still has some features that might not be present on LOS 13.
Also: the device lacks "some" free storage (user space) and prevents a user to make a SD card as an adoptable storage (only in the OS itself. Using adb to convert sdcard to adoptable storage works fine)

[Q] Is it possible to use Dex with A8?

Hi guys,
I saw that there is no offical support for Dex for A8, but is it possible somehow to get it working?
I have a european double SIM variant, if it matters (SM-A530F/DS)
Thank You

A8 actually has DeX support in kernel if you check ccic drivers (in fact my custom kernel is tweaked to make DeX work with any Hdmi adapter/dock), just system hasn't the various DeX apks/services in frameworks, so with a firmware port from a DeX-ready device (S8, S9, N8 and N9) it could work

Thank You for your answer.
So at the moment there is no way, and I have to wait until someone ports a firmware?

Answer in short is yes, I would like to add DeX support in stock fw with the mod pack I'm planning to release for A8 but DeX invokes are almost everywhere and add them all is a nightmare lol. Port the whole S8/Note8/S9 firmwares would be a lot easier (tho I don't wanna work on/release a port since I still don't own the phone, but someone else will probably port it lol)
Any progress?
Hello,
Has there been any new progress on this? It would be really good to have DeX on the A8.
I have an A8 and could test whatever is needed if someone is working on it.
Is there a possibility to do it now?

But that people that have an MTK device with closed source, are not able having a custom Rom at all.

Is that so easy? I'm a noob in porting. Is it possible to get an Lineage OS 14.1 or 15.1 for example when I have an MTK arm64 device with MT6750 Chipset that stucks on Android 7.0?

Of course :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/guide-android-rom-development-t2814763
This method isn't called porting but building from source , and that's how (almost) every people who want to port a ROM do .

(Can't post extLinks yet, so make a search for SM-A750 on opensource.samsung.com to find the archive)
I'm not experienced in porting, but AFAIK this should be a really good entry point to start porting to our device recovery & ROMs and having official releases...!
So I'll start digging into this as soon I can find some spare time! =)

Could that help us to get a Lineage version for our Galaxy? That Samsung stuff really is horrible, Titanium backup is a good help to get rid of it, but it shouldn't be there in the first place....
