Magic Upgrade Failed - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

issue resolved.

Mine was at that spot for quite a while. At least 10 minutes maybe more. Does the status bar on the right move at all?

No, I left it for 25 mins...the bar didn't move at all. The software on the PC shows 81% complete and the dots keeps on animating on the PC on the progress bar.

News & Weather App

Anyone else having problems with the weather part of this app where you can run the slider along and it shows the forecast for the next day? When I slide my finger across the time at the bottom of the slider bar is wrong. It starts out at the right time but when you go forward it shows the time decreasing by just an hour. I've tried refreshing it and still display's the wrong time. I am going to try and clear the data in the app management.
Edit: The clearing of app data didn't solve anything. Also this is on CM nightly 137 I believe.
This stopped working properly for me too
Yeah this has been happening to me for a while :/

Screen would not unlock

Hi,
I've only had my Nexus S for a couple of days and loving it so far, but this morning I had a problem. Here's how it happened:
When my alarm clock went off I hit the snooze button and turned the screen off, went back to sleep. 10 minutes later the alarm went off again later as expected and so I hit snooze again and turned the screen off like before. 5 minutes later I decided to get up as otherwise I would have been late for work, so I go to my phone to disable the alarm as otherwise it would be buzzing when I'm in the shower and the missus would get annoyed. The problem however was that I couldn't unlock the screen! I was jabbing at the power button repeatedly to get it to come on but no response at all. I ending up removing the battery. I should also add that my phone was plugged in a the time as I'd left it charging over night.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? I will try and replicate the problem. Here's how my phone is at the moment:
All my homescreens are bare apart from the main one where I have a 4 shortcuts, google search bar and the analogue clock widget. Apps I currently have installed are: Ebay official, facebook official, Twitter official, 3G watchdog, Fruit Ninja, Angy Birds, Live Holdem, Google maps, Gmail Unread Count, Movies, TV Guide.
I'm hoping that this problem was just a one-off.
Thanks
sort of same here. i bought it last thursday and today i can't use the lower part of the screen, right where the phone, menu and browser icons are. Space bar won't work when writing text, etc.
If anyone knows how to fix, pls share
The device is stock 2.3.3, i9023XXKB1, didn't root.

I have been using Nexus S for 4 months now, and I do have random reboots once in a while. Did the phone well work after the reboot?

I never had responsive problem on my phone other than the phone just freezing... Maybe theres something wrong, go ask Samsung.
unfortunately i also have such a problem now! since this morning my screen does not respond on touch correctly...it is very hard to unlock the screen (have to do it very slowly, bar is jumping like crazy) and after that it seems like the screen is reacting even on any reflection, suddenly the status bar is coming down, if i am in a menu, it always scrolls down and up...damned, that sux!
any ideas what i could do? or is this a case for samsung support?
ps: i did not flash anything in the last days, i even restored my nandbackup, that i made after 2.3.4-update (no custom kernel, no nothing), but that did not change anything...

do u mean the bar (batt, signal, time...blah) that stays put up there or the thing that you pull down with ur finger?
lol i hope that makes sense
yeapzzz that bar
It happened to my wife's HTC sensation this morning. All the icons in the top taskbar disappeared and she could not pull down the notification panel. I told her to remove the battery and restart the phone. The taskbar is back to normal. You must first disable Fast Boot (Settings, Power) if you want to restart phone without removing battery. If Fast Boot is enabled, the phone merely goes into hybernation mode when you power off.
I am still trying to figure out what caused the disappearance of the taskbar. Have not found any answers in the internet.
Incidentally, I also encountered a strange issue with my HTC senation. When I opened the camera application, the screen kept flickering (i.e. turning on and off repeatedly) making it difficult to take pictures. I read somwhere in the internet that the issue may be caused by geo-tag or GPS or google location. Nothing conclusive yet. I suspected that it was the Latitude application which I had signed in previously. I signed out of Latitude and the issue is gone for now.
hey! that happened to me too!

P5110 4.2.2 update problems (lags, crash)

I have installed the new official firmware on my p5110 and I have HUGE problems with the device getting unresponsive.
For example if I turn off Wifi over night and switch it back on in the morning. I understand that the device starts syncing stuff etc but the tablet becomes literally unusable for at least 5 minutes, sometimes not even reacting to any touch input as well as home key ... Eventually when you press the power button long enough it doesnt even show you any shutdown dialog but goes straight to the boot animation, rebooting without having shut down properly before.
Really disappointed by this release, not only because of the above mentioned performance problems but also because of the ridiculous phone UI layout that feels really uncomfortable on a 10" device.
Am I the only one with this problem or is it just time for a factory reset (but I don't wanna...)?
Don't waste your time with this build, i have had same problems even after factory reset and wiping internal sd. Rom behaves awful after you install
let's say 30-40 applications. Best thing is to return to stable 4.1.2 build or install AOSP rom.

I installed this rom, at the beginning very laggy but after a wipe data & cache it run very well, no lag at all. Better than 4.1.2. To modify the icons in the bottom row just push the edit icon in top right and turn landscape to portrait and it will be possible but little buggy. I did not try with 30-40 app so far.

in the right top corner of the screen there is a pen icon used to edit the icon's position, if you press it the bottom row icon disappear until you rotate 90º the tablet, then you will see the icons and you can move or delete it.

Oh that explains why I haven't seen that yet: I'm not using the stock launcher.
And this is the result.....
Btw.. my tablet works a lot faster now
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Installed cm now, much faster than any stock rom I tried before

Android Q beta 4

Wish I could even get to a screen that said anything! Looks like I'll have to flash a factory image.........of course I didn't check my backup status first, HA! At least it's not my main phone
Mine said optimizing apps for almost 2 hours. Only problem I see now from b3, is Facebook won't save a photo. Just keeps saying error saving the photo. And if you take a screenshot, it STILL doesn't go to the top of the list like it should.
Took a long time on boot up after installing. Probably 10-15 minutes. Be patient.
Mine took a couple hours to optimize apps as well. So far I've found more accents, the notifications are more colorful, the lockscreen lock is at the top, the WiFi icon is different on the pulldown and the status bar, the at a glance font is now 'thicker' and the google search bar is now black. Also, force dark mode now either doesn't do anything or crashes settings.
Can I ask what's not working in Q beta 4?
Need to use my Pixel 3 XL for work and can't afford to be without my phone.
Is there a running list of what's working and what's not?
Thank you in advance,
Tom

On the same boat. stuck at G logo with scrolling bar. Let me know if you find any workaround. I don't want to flash/factory reset my primary phone
I have pixel 3 btw.
Update:
My pixel 3 booted to beta 3 and I got a notification that update failed. Thanks to A/B partition!
Update:
I clicked on update again after that and kept the phone on charge. It optimized the apps and the updated went through successfully!
This is before the update is paused by Google.

Mine failed too, so I did a quick backup and flashed the B4 Image Fresh...........me thinks the OTA was pushed out too hastily

If anyone has an issue, install the beta. I had to uninstall the original, then install the beta to get it to work.
Did anyones override force dark stop working? Settings FC for me. Only reason I was running Q.

Yep same issue. Reported it!
Did you guys see the article today from Android Police about Dynamic System Updates for the Pixel 3XL? The future sounds pretty cool!
They pulled it out for now. Bricked some Pixel 2 devices.
My 3 XL is updated and works fine.
