Hello
I'm running cyanogen 4.2.13 and the CHM theme (downloaded from CM Updater), I noticed the contact photos are not smooth, kind of blurry, like they were stretched out. Anyone having the same problem? Is this a known problem, is there a way to fix this?
Thank you

As I think this is due to using modded Contacts app with some scaling of images

I've recently made the switch to a real android phone from my hd2 constantly running fairly smooth android and something I've noticed in both phones, in both different eclair and froyo roms, is that while the default gallery app has a pretty ui it is awful as an actual photo viewer. The hd2 running wm had a great picture viewer with great adaptive zooming so I find it highly disconcerting that a superior os like android could butcher such a vital feature. Just zooming into any photo on my vibrant is a nightmare quite honestly. Even at no zoom pictures look bad and nowhere close to their actual level of detail.
So in short, I was wondering if this was a known issue of the cooliris gallery app and if there are any good photo viewers for android which provide pinch-to-zoom while also not emaciating my precious pictures? I've tried a bunch of android market picture viewer apps but most were even worse or provided no functionality at all.

Bump for photo app suggestions?

I think that there is a problem with the rendering of pictures with the gallery, but I can't remember where I found it out...
Try out:
'JustPictures!' and 'Floating Image' from the market.
EDIT - Found out the reason here:

Try Large Image Viewer http://www.appbrain.com/app/image.viewer
I'm using Multi Touch Gallery too - works a treat

Well I tried all the suggested apps but so far l.i.v is my favorite. Its ui is a bit boring and its a bit lacking in features but it's the best at doing what image viewers are supposed to; view images. But thanks for all the suggestions!

Hello,
My G Tablet running CM7 Nightly #79 (had the same issue even in stable) is having an issue with the camera. The images I take are super highly compressed (in every one of the picture quality option). The preview is fine, however when you go to open the picture it is very bad quality and the file size is tiny. Also, in the camera app, if I go to take a video, the preview is fine until you click record and then the preview window freezes while the clock appears and ticks up, and then you click to stop and it does, but I seem to get a force close (even when I go to select different qualities I get a force close). But yes, when I ran the stock ROM I had no issues, and even when I ran TnT Lite I had no problems. So I was wondering if someone that had a working camera could maybe post their media_profiles.xml from their /system/etc/ folder? maybe that would be a solution. I know others have had this issue, but I have not seem to have found a solution out there.
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate all the work and effort out there in the android community.

This is a known issue in CyanogenMod and the devs are working on it.
For now, you can use the Camera Fun Free app from Market. I haven't tried it, but others on the board here have reported that it works for taking pictures.
Could this be a fix?

also, i forgot to mention, you might want to do a format system prior to the next ROM flash. this might help solve a lot of these issues.
im on nightly 201 and the camera app actually is giving me problems, but i installed the miui camera and that seems to be working fine
What apps do you have frozen?
No, I'm on:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362451
The latest one, camera app works fine.
On an older build it would crash if you tried to use the camcorder function with the front facing camera. It doesn't anymore.
yeah, the same crash happens to me every single time!
Flash the LG camera for CM7 in CWM, linked in my signature, it works better anyway.
I'm having issue with my instagram with Crossbones ICS ROM 3.0.
The application crashes when the app is on the stage of applying filters both for captured photos and gallery one. But as I remember this application works well with CM9 ROM.
Is there anyone knows what's wrong?
Thank you.
Hi,
GT-I9001 Android 4.0.4 CyanogenMod 9 ivendor ariesve RC5
I have a strange issue with my Samsung S Plus. When I use the camera with the builtin app I can take photographs without any problem.
I take the photo and then I'm back to the live view.
When I use others apps, like Camera Zoom FX, HDR Camera, ProCapture... I always have the last photograph on my preview screen. There's no refresh. I don't get back to the live view screen.
I have tested several apps, same issue.
Can't find any related post.
Thanks for your help.

I experienced something similiar while on CM9, and it was one of reasons I gave up using this. Why not to try anything else? Try out a CM10 based rom, or SlimBean 3.1, fully compiled from AOSP. I prefer the last one, stable and reliable.
