Problem installing official ROM - Dash 3G, Snap ROM Development

Hi all..
I'll get directly into the scenario..
HardSPLed (1.17) my HTC Snap device ->
installed [WM6.5 STD 21854][Build 3VO.2.50.112509] works perfectly but I wanted to get back to the original WM6.1 ->
went back to WM6.1 successfully, after a while the official WM6.5 ROM realesed by HTC ->
downloaded it ->
tried to install it, everything goes well till the upgrade indicator reaches 29% and hang for no reason and giving me a 262 error after a while!!! then I followed instructions to recover the upgrade process as shown in the upgrade application then it hangs again at point 29% giving me the same error!!!!
I tried many times the steps of recovering and the same thing happens.. I'm confirming that my usb cable is working good and Windows Mobile sync application works great.
So I decided to install the 3VO.2.50 version again since I had a dead device and surprisingly everything works fine with the cooked version..
Now the problem is I need to install the new HTC OFFICIAL ROM and I can't do this... i've followed many topics here that nearly the same my problem but there is nothing except the frustration now i stucked in the coocked ROM and can't install the official ROM nor getting back to the original WM6.1 version
Any help guys will be much appreciated ..
Thanx in advance..

See this thread, follow the directions of the last post.

I have had the same issue installing WM 6.5 official ROM from HTC on mine. I followed the recovery process around 6 or 7 times before succeeding. it's kind of frustrating, but it worked in the end.

Thanks for help..
After walkingthrough sikkboy626 link i was able to install the official WM6.5 ROM
But after the upgrade process ends successfully the device restarted and only shows a black screen with 'smart mobility' and at the down left of the screen there is a B G R D letters, beside each of them there are some kind of numbers (in orange color)
Then it just hangs !!!!
Any clue guys ???

that's the normal boot screen which indicates the radio version, rom version. just wait a few minutes for the phone to boot for the 1st time. if it still doesn't do anything, try re-flashing.

this is really a common error when flashing the ROM. try doing the recovery process as indicated many many times until success.

in the recovery process, you don't need sync. read the documentation delivered with the ROM, they say how to recover.

Yes I know that i don't need sync in a recovery process.. i'm just proofing that the recovery/upgrade application doesn't see the device.. so i'm stuck here, i can't re-flash, i can't hard reset i can't do anything using my pc 'cause simply it doesn't know that the phone is connected to it...!!!!

the only thing that i can tell you is to try the recovery process over and over until it connects correctly to the device. i have had the same issue as you : my phone wouldn't boot at all and was stuck at 29%. i re-booted my computer and followed the recovery process around 6 or 7 times as suugested on the screen, and then it worked.

Advanced Shelltool help

Hi everyone. I am in need of assistance with shelltool. I've been flashing ROMs for quite some time and this goes beyond the scope of typical upgrading. I apparently had a bad flash happen and need some help correcting it. The OS appears to work fine, except some applications .cab installers exit before asking device or storage card. I have attempted to load the EnableRapi.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab; however, they exit almost instantly after starting them.
I had this situation happen once before and I was able to oddly enough try to load the original T-Moblie ROM through shelltool (didn't install at all), then try NBD 8.3. which brought me to a boot loader screen after doing a hard reset, but didn't install NBD 8.3. So far I'm not having much luck in recreating the experiment.
Is there a way to force a Wizard into bootloader mode using shelltool or some other utility? I can restore the device if I can get that far.
it's time for my first post
Hi, have been reading this forum for about 3 month and i enyoy it and learn a lot. Have been try about 7 roms and like all. It's time to payback.
Yo can enter bootload by pressing and holding the voice command button and then softreset, keep holding the voice command button util you reach bootload.
Other thing you can do is run the original rom by its executable program not using shelltool.
Good luck
Awesome! That rescued my phone. You saved me quite a bit of time in getting my phone back to a working state. You've more than given back!

Please tell me how did you restore your phone? i am flashed touchflo rom to my phone and some how it is stuck to the multicolor screen.
Can you help me out?
Thanking you in anticipation.
1 put phone into bootloader by pressing and holding camera button+reset hole. Keep holding the camera button untill you see the tricollor screen.
2 plug the phone into the computer (wait to hear the noise that it found hardware
3 Flash a rom you know worked (maybe your original/ maybe someone elses... maybe even mine )
4 wait untill the flashing finishes and "Tap Screen..." appeares before unplugging.
(If you have a G4 then I advise you to flash the original rom, or make sure your ipl/spl is propper. check the G4 forum to be sure, or ask Mestrini - The creator of the Wizard service tool. I believe he has a G4 and knows more about it than most)
Happy Flashing
Randomly get Update/Connection errors.
Thank you very much for the response.
Unfortunately, i am still not able to flash the ROM. I did the follwoing steps, can you please help me letting me know, where m i wrong?
I restarted my PC.
I did Reset my PDA, by removing and placing the battery.
then i boot the PDA, it always boots to the TRICOLOR Screen.
afterwards, i tried to flash following ROMs
Xda_Minis_Upgrade_v2.21.4.101.exe [the oringal one, used to be working since long]
SNN_Version_3.0 [i flashed this, some days ago and worked fine for me]
SNN_3.0_FULL_version [the ROM that caused the problem]
BUT no use, i randomly get following errors:
ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR
ERROR [274] : CONNECTION
and some other errors.
Pleaaaaaase some one help me.
Thanking you in anticipation.

What is wrong with my phone? Tried to Flash new Rom...Black Screen

Okay. I tried to install one of Dutty's ROM's that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398271.
I read through all the stickys and FAQ's first. I read Dutty's wiki, the Kaiser wiki, and the flashing new ROM wiki. I followed all of the directions and followed Dutty's instructions to the T.
After installing the HardSPL found here(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679), I backed up all my personal info/data.
Then used the Custom RUU Dutty supplied and proceed through the ROM flashing process. Everything went fine and I got no error messages. But when my phone booted up I got a black screen. I waited but my phone stayed on the black screen. So I pressed the standby button on and off a few times and eventually I wound up with a black screen that had about a million multi-colored speckled dots all over it. And I have been stuck on this screen since. I've tried soft-reseting and hard resetting but nothing is working.
I am Using an ATT Tilt BTW.
Please Help me. My phone is my life so right now I'm feeling like Dionne Farris.....Hopeless....
ahh that sounds like a nightmare... wish i could help

well it appears to be a bad flash. unplug your device from the usb cable, restart your computer, and flash again.
Hopefully after your computer restarts it will recognize the device as being connected. If it doesn't just double click on your windows mobile device center icon and it should connect. After connecting just reflash the rom

I had the same problem, what i did was read all through the thread of the ROM or while inside the thread i use the search function and type in the keywords like "blank screen" it happened to me exactly, but i didnt bother to post since i found the answer, 1 user said flash it to WM 6.1 i did exactly that and it helped! some said not necessary, but i didnt see that instruction so i flashed the 6.1 blindly and fortunately it worked...
here is the thread

Please Help! TYTN II from WM6.0 To WM6.1

I have read through endless posts and stickies.. I still can't figure out what the correct procedure is for updating my TYTN II from WM6.0 to WM6.1
I would greatly appreciate it, if someone would lay it out step my step
I tried to flash with the WM6.1 update, it said there was a vender error.
I tried flashing with HardSPL 3.28 and it stops at 0% and says there is there is a communication error, and to click next to perform the recovery. I perform the recovery, after removing the battery and putting it back in, the phone starts up normal.
I tried the white screen solution.. it reaches the three coloured display with USB and just sits there.. i eventually reboot the phone.. and it starts back up normally..
but none of the flashing procedures have worked yet..
I used the files found Here for the white screen problem.
I don't know what else to try..
Direct update - Invalid Vendor ID
HardSPL 3.28 - Communication Error
JumpSPL - Does nothing...

Interpreation and sense of what you are reading.
http://hpcmonex.net/olipro/KaiserUnlocker.zip
That is the link to the Kaiser Unlocker by Olipro. It Hard-SPL's and SIM Unlocks. If you do not need the sim unlock simply flash to a different ROM after the first step.
Thanks socalkevin21 for providing a usable response
Not a problem, let me know if you have any issues.
The software says to unplug the USB connection as soon as the screen turns to the three coloured screen.
when i plug back in, the progress bar waits a couple seconds then jumps directly to 100%.. is that correct?
The phone reboots, and starts back up as normal.. but the same version ROM is still there..

Try a new HardSPL.
WM6.1 freezes sometimes with the OliPof 1.0 Hard SPL.
All the latest Hard SPL's are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922
There are no other differences between 1 and 3.* other than the version number - they both work the same (oh and no MFG in 3.*, but you won't notice that)

Htc Touch Pro -RAPH100 serious problem

Hi there,
I need help to know whats going on with my HTC Touch Pro.
After more than 1 year of use, the phone started yesterday giving this message:
RAPH100
SPL-5.05-0000
MicroP-Raph (LED) v13
MicroP-Raph (KEY) v5
PSOC-Raph STAGE_CVT v0x36
PCBID 0x80
RID 0x0
This happens with the screen splitted in 4 colours.
Before giving this message I can read very quickly a system message saying "No image file!"
The phone JUST shows this message, I can't do ANYTHING on it. I have tried to make an hard reset, but nothing - only shows this message.
What can I do to fix this?
thanks,

Any other suggestions?
thanks
Try flashing from MicroSD. I think there's a summary of how to do this in one of the stickies in the Rom Development subforum. Sounds like your rom got corrupted or something is trigger that screen.. That screen you mention is the bootloader screen. It's access by holding down the Volume Down rocker as you power on the device.

Can this be a hardware problem?
is there a way of reinstall the windows mobile, besides doing an hard reset?
Even i can flash the ROM , but the screen is always the same with the 4 colours.
more clues?
in your case, doing a hard reset seems to be the least of your worries. you can install the stock roms w/o hardspl so you should give that a shot first. through usb and through sd card if usb doesn't work.
from what you've said, you could flash the stock ROM but when you start up your phone, it brings you back to bootloader?
also, when you attempted to flash hardspl, what error did you get?

Hi there,
When I try to install hardspl the progression bar does not goes forward, it stays in the 0% - this by USB - I did not try it in the SDcard, but I think it should be the same...
I can flash the ROM with USB, but after the install is complete it brings me back the same 4 colours screen with that error I have mentioned first.
The funny is the cellphone just started this from day to night. Did not fell on the floor, I didn't installed anything... strange.

How can I fix this?
Even if the Vol Down button was stuck, she wouldn't get the "No Image File" message... it would just go into bootloader mode and say, "Serial".
I had this problem when I first got my Fuze and was playing with new roms. The solution would be to flash a new rom on there and be careful.
Connect the phone through USB and turn on the phone while holding Volume Down
Tri-Color screen should read "USB" at the bottom.
Load up the official firmware upgrader and click through the screens.
Wait for it to fully load.
If you are having problems with the official firmware, perhaps you have a bad download and need to redownload it.
Honestly, I think you should take it in (or send it in) for service. I'd quit screwing with it. You've got the stock rom and spl on there, and it's stuck in bootloader for some mysterious reason. You're ok. But if somehow you flash any non-stock firmware on there, and you end up still stuck in bootloader, you may have passed the point of no return, warranty-wise. Bummer that it happened, and it could well be a stuck volume down button, but I wouldn't try flashing as the solution.
i'd agree. since it seems like you never managed to successfully flash anything, everything should still be stock. and sometimes you get lucky and they don't care about that anyways. just send it in
