Really love my HD2... Nice hardware, nice software (with help from cooks) etc.
I have one problem though... The music player!
Im one of those who LOVE music... And lots of it
The problem is related to how you navigate to artists etc... Its so slow! I mean its totally smooth, but the fact that you have to slide your finger for like 10 sec, to get to the bottom, (If you have a lot of music) is a pain... On the iPhone there is a "Letter-scrollbar", from where you can QUICKLY slide to the first letter of the artist you want to hear
There actually also is on the HD2!..... In the "all people" tab! EXATLY what I want is on the HD2, but in the wrong tab (Well its actually also kind of handy to have in the "all people" tab, so no complaints there )
My question/request is: Is it possible, for some hacker extraordinaire, to take the "letter-scrollbar" from the "all people" tab, and implant it in the Music Player. In the artists section preferably
Hope sombody can pull it off!
Anybody? Or am i the only one missing this feature

I second that, its the one tiny little niggle left on this phone, its especially annoying when trying to create plsylists, cos you have to keep scrolling for ages! any help would be much appreciated, cheers guys!

Have you thought about emailing htc to suggest this as a feature?
I dont think HTC will listen frankly... I guess we will just have to wait for some genius, to take the command and make this happen

I wonder if it can be done. I've seen a lot of manila additions, modification etc. but none of these add or change the functionality of manila.
I think we have to wait for the brilliant quiet genius at HTC to make some noise and convince the other less brilliant colleages that the the job has to be done.

Hi i currently have a hypper dragon ROm that its ok but i am looking for what to change it to sinse this one doesnt seen to be doing the job right. i am a bit needy. i use my phone for work and personal life. send emails, check the web, huge texter send video and picture text and sound text but for X or Y reason i am not able to do it right now cause of X or the Y reason that dont know yet. i would also like to have xm radio, regular radio, tv and aim and messenger on my phone and a good gps programs may be google maps or live search.
If you could please help me find what would be best thing to do, who to ask help from, and what ROM should i go for.

Why do you bought Kaiser in the first place?... How would you know that you can do all this when you purchase it?... if you know that you can get that at xda... then do your research... heck.. i also want the REGULAR radio (fm radio??)... TV (regular tv)?... I even think of fixing the kaiser into my brain, so that i can do it all from there... is there any rom out there that good enough so that i can install it in my brain?
Dude, all the ROMs are a good starting point. I suggest Laurentius V12. It's up to you to configure it to your own needs.
Look around for CAB files of aim, messenger and gps software.
And yeah, have fun being flamed.
I suggest an OEM rom for you, judging from your typing skills.

thanks guys but i know my writing its really bad and my first lenguage its spanish and trust me its not any better. lucky my texting on my phone corrects my mistakes so i dont sound as dumb as you guys think. i got the htc 8925 as soon as it came out cause its a great machine love it and proud to say huge ipod hater, and i will change whatever i have to change in this thing just so that no one can tell me i should get an ipod, because i like to think this phone can kick iphones ass. tell me if i am wrong!!!

Im not gonna bash u but u should just take sometimes to read different feedback int the many diff. cooked rom threads and if thats not enuff try them outfor urself like many of us have... and most chefs list all installed apps if not enuff u should just find and add after that...

so? I, for one, don't hate iPhone. It does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. Unlike Windows Mobile. I hate Windows Mobile... there, i said it... this thread is going to be closed in a few hours anyways...
easy way out of this is the to try all the roms, and hope you can find one you like? Best luck in getting flamed by people............

I believe there's a policy of "no spoonfeeding."
No one can properly tell you what the best ROM is, they are all different and meet the needs of different people. Try some out and figure out which you like best.
Redundant threads like this always wind up closed.
Edit: Also, if you want some help finding the ROMS, here's the wiki page with a fairly (emphasis) comprehensive list. some of the most recent ROMS may have not been added and such, that sort of thing.

Got it... Had to argue with employees to find a store that would sell it to me.
Funny damn thing is this. They coud have inventoried them and then gave them to us but rather they, some of the ATT employee's, were being lazy so I just had to find a store that would sell it to me.
First impressions... Software complaints... Yes I want it all.
FIXED here on XDA = THANK YOU!!! First off, where is the DAMN clock that is animated. Damn you ATT wtf would you get rid of this for. You are asking for mods when you do Shiz like that. Anyone know how to get this back and in general the black theme overall?
To that point, First 1B... Why can't we change the there period and if so how?
Second, Youtube, Where are you??? I can go to the site but the youtube application sure the hell doesn't work cause I can't even find it.
Third, The messaging feature is way cooller than the proprietary WM6.1 junk but what sux is that A. id doesn't collect all the messages for you from one person... and B. when you reply it just goes back to the native WM6.1 isn't there a way someone could get this to be the actuall text program???
Forth, Where the hell is the external camera button. I will first thing change the PTT to the camera button but what the heck would you get rid of this for?
Fifth, where is the damn program that cuts songs mid stream and allows you to have them as a ring tone???

Keep in mind that a lot of the stuff you are looking for is in the Diamond forum since that was the first phone with this interface. You might want to try searching there also.

Thanks... would it be possible for the texting through the touch3d interface... And lastly, could someone write something that would enable windows live to be underneath the new youtube icon?
I like threaded text and wish the interface did it as well. I just hate the format in which WM 6.1 does it in... Does that make sense?

Since this is obviously a redundant thread created by someone who didn't spend much time looking, i think you should be careful with the words that you choose. The was correct in saying that most of what you requested is easy to find if you look for it. If you have a questions related to FM radio, you might try posting it in the threads already talking about the FM radio feature. Also, maybe posting ideas about development of TF3D in any of the existing TF3D threads. I bet the guys who are best suited to integrate the features you're looking for will see it there.

Most stuff that runs on the diamond will run on the touch pro, and almost everything that runs on a touch pro will run on a Fuze. Really the difference will only be something that needs the front camera to run i would think. You should feel plenty confident that you'll be able to hack your Fuze to your heart's content.

The main exception that I've found is themes. A lot of the Diamond themes won't work right on the Fuze in landscape mode (with the keyboard slid out). Some will work but it seems kind of hit-and-miss.

yeah it's the same with the polaris, nike, and kaiser. The devices that don't support landscape obviously aren't gonna work very well in landscape. But a lot of the times the issues with software is being at the right resolution. Themes...well that's definitely a different story.

I agree with this post. Everything here should have been provided WITHOUT having to 'hack' the phone. Much of these things I was expecting as well that also convinced me to buy this phone.
Yeah, yeah...give it some time, they'll be hacks galore for the Fuze specific, since the Diamond things aren't completely 'compatable' with the Fuze.
I think ATT did much too much as far as stripping down this phone.
And they have the nerve to keep the HTC name...[HTC Fuze] Ha!
What part of HTC is still left on it??

Ok, heres my wish for my new fuze. i wat to view flash content such as mlb.tv and some radio stations such as wfan NY, but the phone doesn't do it. if someone could let me know how to do this i would love it.

Actually, there has been some development since that thread. Take a look at this one. It is possible to map the PTT button using AE Button Plus (all except for single-press, which apparently causes the Home button to do the assigned action as well as bringing up the Home page, but the other three possibilities seem for the moment to work okay).

Search the forum for s2u2 and install it as the readme say's,... could say enough Google is your friend. besides, this forum has a great search feature.

Thanks a lot, i've done searching, installing, setting, but i dont like it in my Leo, CallerID is not the same as with Iphone, so i've uninstalled it.
I am sorry to say but I will never, never understand people who wants their phone looks like an iPhone... Simpliest way would be, go and buy an iPhone, no ?

so......I like my hd2, but if iphone does something that i prefere, why I cant have it in my wm phone?
Seems pretty easy to understand to me, they want a phone with better hardware, but there are elements of the iPhones UI that they like and want to replicate. Seems straightforward enough? No?

i love it, sadly its not free .. only i want my caller in full screen..
I'd also quite like this feature but without changing any of the other existing Sense UI design, I've tried the other options out there but was hoping for something that just appeared to be a mod of the original UI?

Not at all, I'd gladly donate to someone if this mod could be made to the Sense UI caller ID screen. To me it seems like you would need to overlay the full screen caller image over the existing caller ID screen yet under the 'slide to answer' section, trouble is I haven't the faintest idea how to go about this??
The problem with Phonex et al is they are all apps designed to replace more than just the caller ID screen and I for one really like the Sense UI just the way it is, I'm merely asking if it's possible to mod the original UI for this one bit?

i just wanted the sound because the lock and the unlock sound are good.if you have some other good sound other than iphone that also will do.
I have to agree, why on earth put something from crapple on this beautiful HD2. I got rid of everything that I used to customize my iphone with after switching and not looking back abit. I even saw a iphone theme for the HD2, honestly anybody putting an iphone theme on their HD2 gotto be out of their mind. Flame me all you want iphone was good 2 years ago, now it's just a phone with a touchscreen and millions of useless apps.

I have no idea what the sounds on the iPhone are, so I can't help you, but there's TONS of samples on the internet. (I produce music and regularly hunt down audio files, so I know there's like a gazillion samples out there!) Surely you can find something either similar (if not exactly what you want), or even better.
If you could point us at a youtube vid that had the sounds in it I may be able to sample them for you.

Im running youtube 2.6, runs well but its cooked into my rom so i dont have the cab.
I do have another one though, but havent tried it.

hey thanks, but that is not what I was talking about....I want to make/find a tab for youtube (like the tabs on the slider, you know-the home, message, mail, internet, weather, settings ...etc,etc.. tabs?)...I also have youtube 2.6 BTW...
so I hope someone can help me out here, I am willing to put in work -the only problem is I cannot find the resources ?.....

I think the guy working on the facebook tab found that HTC had done alot of the development work themselves and had hidden it away. Atleast thats how it reads. So maybe this isnt such an easy thing to do

Ah sorry mate, misunderstood. Like a FB thread going around, ive read this is not such a simple thing to do either, good luck.
Good idea though, id trade it for the twitter tab anyday of the week lol

Same here buddy, would be nice but doubt we'll se it happen any time soon..
yeah, I agree that it does not seem easy...seems like too much b$ just for something so simple....i dont know, I am not a newbie to programming, but this is like a whole other world of programming (or w/e you will call it)...
in theory: I would need to put a place holder for a new tab OR take an existing one and change it... have that tab point to/open up the YouTube executable and thats it!...
in practice (it seems): I would have to recompile/decompile/edit multiple manila files...? which even that is sounding much more easier than actual 'practice' of this theory...
any ideas?
this is such a great idea it would be very nice if they could figure this one out
it'll be even better if the dev's could skin the YouTube app a little so that it really intergete in sense

maybe I will make it a summer project... most likely I will find something more substantial to work on though, but definitely something to show on here and share...
I remember having a youtube tab my HTC wing in manila 2D there wae also a google maps tab (That was coo) tho I thought there would be those tabs on the HD2 when i bought one (been on android for while)
