Stock Rom question - Touch Pro2 CDMA

I just got the Sprint TP2 and I don't want to use a different rom yet. Is there any settings I could turn off or turn on to make this phone more tolerable? It's just so slow.

Get a registry editor and just make a couple registry edits as follows.
HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs
change "Cachesize" to 32768
HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE
Set both limit settings to 32768
HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings
create dword key "SpeedHigh" set value to 5
create dword key "SpeedLow" set value to 14
(Do not add the quotes, and its case sensitive)
HKLM\SYSTEM\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt
Set “ReplStoreCacheSize” to 8192
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn
Set "battery" to 30000
Another good one to increase your In call Volume
HKCU\control panel\sound categories\\in call
set "initial volume" to 4
That should help ya out a lil, But just so you know, stock roms run like crap outta the box, cuz carriers wanna put all that junk you don't need in the rom.

Advice on Activesync Peak schedule setting - Comm Manager sets to as it arrives

Apologies if this is not the right forum to ask this. I'm using a TyTN II, and using the WM 6.1 roms from here.
I had tried many of the roms, and the same thing will happen.
I normally set Peak timing under Activesync- Menu -schedule:
Peak times: As it arrives
Off-peak times: Manually
Sometimes, I want to stop Microsoft Direct Push during Peak times, so I use Comm Manager to switch it off. When I set it on again with Comm Manager, Activesync- Menu -schedule will appear as follows:
Peak times: As it arrives
Off-peak times: As it arrives
I tried using other Apps like SBSH Phoneweaver to do it too, the result is the same.
Am I doing something wrong here?
If nothing can be done to this, is there a registry key that I can use to make a shortcut so that instead of using Comm Manager to power on, I use that registry key?
Thanks.
I think I found the key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\
KeepAlive (Dword)
Set to 1 = Set as "As it Arrives" for Peak times
Set to 0 = Set as "Manually" for Peak Times
This key doesn't affect Off-peak times
Hope this information will be useful to the community.

[Q] How to extend lock screen time-out?

Dear all,
is there any way/tweak how to extend lock screen time-out for instance to 60 minutes?
Thanks in advance
you go into the settings, lock and wallpaper!
The highest value I have there is 5 minutes which isn't enough for me. Do you have higher value there?

I have 30s, 1m, 3m, 5m and "never".
If you don't have the option "never" you have to unlock your phone (using chevron or developer unlock) and make a change in the registry of the phone.
It's very ridiculous that not every wp7 have the option "never" to choose.
There is no "never" option just in case you set a password for the lockscreen.
if you remove the password, the never option will be available again
It´s really ridiculous that I cant set higher value then 5 mins if password is set..
I have no password and still only have 5 min. I wish Diagnostic Tool in the phone could be used to fix this.
for Samsung devices u don't Have This setting because the technology of the screen (S.amoled) don't like to stay long time with screen on else if u Can damaged the screen...

Windows 7 Registry Backlight

I have an LG Optimus 7, its a great phone but the battery on it seriously sucks. I lowered the backlight, turned off bluetooth, wifi etc but I can barely get through the day of usage.
My phone is unlocked and I have access to the registry, I want to lower the backlight further beyond what the control panel will let me do. Does anyone know the registry key for the backlight?
I found:
HKEY_CURRENT\CONTROLPANEL\BACKLIGHT
The value is currently set to 1099958376
However before I change it I would like to know what the value represents so I don't mistakenly set the phone backlight to 0.
Thanks
"HKEY_CURRENT\CONTROLPANEL\BACKLIGHT" is a directory, not a value. You shouldn't edit it directly.
But anyway, don't bother with the registry. I've modified every single key that seemed minimally related to brightness, with no success. This seems to me like a driver/firmware issue. Although I would be happy to be proven wrong...
(And by the way, allow me to redirect you to this thread. It wouldn't hurt to complain about it... )
That is too bad
If anyone has an answer to this please help.

Galaxy S3 Screen Color Profile

Hello world! It's apitty but in US version of SGS 3 i535, there is no Screen Color Profile. As for me standart profile is so crazy for eyes. That's why can you tell how I can to thange color gamma or know where I can find a file of color profile in file system?
Gamma can be changed in
"/sys/class/lcd/panel/gamma_mode"
There is a catch though that makes it essentially useless.
Values are "1" or "2" default is "2"
2 = 2.0
1 = 2.2
Changing to "1" will kill the brightness control for some reason which is why I say this is useless. The only way to get back your brightness control is a reboot once it is changed.
The really odd thing (which took me forever to figure out) was in order to even change the value to "1" or "2" you must first change it's value to "0".
It's as if the "0" unlocks gamma_mode so it's value can be changed. Overall at this point I'm going to just say that this is just better left to a new kernel option.
There are not color adjustments to my knowledge but there are grayscale settings buried in the system. I really didn't mess with there values though because my colormeter is in need of a good calibration. These settings should only be adjusted with the proper test patterns and equipment. Even though we all have the same devices every display is still different and these settings are used ONLY on a per phone basis. Meaning my fully calibrated display settings most likely will not be the same calibration settings you should have on your device. BTW, grayscale settings will also effect your overall gamma values from 0 IRE to 100 IRE.
Anyways, I hope this helped you a bit.

[Q] Setting up WhatsApp so I only get one sound notification per conversation?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew if it's possible to make WhatsApp give me a sound notification only for the first message I recieve in a conversation, so that the rest are muted and I hear a sound only once. Because usually I recieve messages in bursts of five or so messages, and hearing the phone ring five times in 10 seconds is extremely annoying. I'd like to make it so that any time I get a message in a conversation, I'd hear the tone just once (for each conversation) and then nothing until I open up and read the messages. Thanks in advance.
+1 to this.
2 years and nobody ever found a solution. Are we the only ones annoyed by the constant beeping?
I also find it hard to believe why WhatsApp hasn't developed a feature like this in their app... Many people I talked to are also very annoyed by the smartphone vibrating and playing a notification sound 5 times in 20 seconds!
As a matter of fact, it surprises me that this post has so few replies.
WhatsApp could implement something as simple as: "Notify me only once in 5 minutes". I'm pretty sure it is very easy to implement.. Why don't they do this?
So yeah. Im late, but i think i did.
You guys know tasker app? Amazing thing.
So here we go.
First you need tasker app.
1. You'll create two variables in VAR tab, one if for counting the other one is to store the notification volume you're set in at all random moments that you can receive a text, you don't wanna restore your volume to a preset, if you put your phone on silece mode it needs to stay on silence mode after. So, i named mines "CountNot" and "ActualNotVol"
2. Creating a task, name it whatever you like.
Look for some engine symbol or options inside the task you need to configure the Collision Handling to "Abort New Task". So the code only run once until needed again.
The code goes:
>If: %CountNot EQ 0
>Variable Set: %CountNot to 1
>Variable Set: %ActualNotVol to (click on arrow and choose) %VOLN
>Wait: 3 seconds (For my notification sound complete, may vary)
>Notification Volume: Level 0 (Muting notification sounds)
>Wait: 1 Minute (The amount of time the notification will be muted, guessing the ****head will be done sending multiple text, may vary)
>Notification Volume: (click on arrow) %ActualNotVolume (Will restore the volume that it was before)
>Variable Set: %CountNot to 0 (So the task can be repeated next time)
Finish.
Go to profile, and create > Event> UI > Notification > Owner Application > WhatsApp
And select the task you just created.
Test it if possible.
I would appreciate a reply as feedback, hope it works for you too.
