Does anyone know how to get mms working on this build either force closes on me or gives no option for it.
Bump anyone know
I'd love to know as well
I have the app on my phone and i still recive the text messages from sprint but the program isnt detecting them
I haven't attempt to get the Sprint Visual Voicemail working on AOSP 1.6, but I will attempt to get it working, once quiet releases the update to AOSP 1.6 later this week.
Good Luck. I have been working on getting it working on 2.1 and ASOP 2.0...yeah...about that. Lots of variables in play
Cheers,
Matt

Ok thanks!!! i have the app on my phone already i guess it just needs some programing internally..
Anyone making progress on this?
I'm loving running 1.6, even though it's AOSP. Everything is great except I really like VisualVM.
I can't even find the apk to try...advice?

Since I have my voicemail re-assigned to Google Voice, no more worries of Sprint's version. Give it a shot, the app is awesome!

Everything but the speaker in the phone app works for me. I just did a backup, wipe (from recovery), and flashed.

Got specifics on setting up GV's VisualVM going properly? All I would want from GV is the VisualVM. No need for any of the other stuff (calls etc.)
I'll play with it a bit now
I have changed over my voicemail to Google Voice and that seems to be the way to go for all platforms. I have even stopped giving out my regular phone number and instead opt to point people to the gv.
i am curios to know this too. I believed that the message sprint sends to triger visual voicemail was a MMS. Now that MMS has been resolved for this ROM, is visual voicemail working? Anyone tried it?
All you have to do to get the your VM to go to your GVoice acct is log into your GVoice acct on the computer, go to Settings & there will be an option, with instructions, on how to activate/setup it up.
Awesome. Apparently it was working for a good 30mins before I realized it haha.
I like this! I left myself a VM and got an email notification of it (on my phone) before I even opened the Voice app on the phone to make it check for VMs more often heh.
I'd use GV for VM over the Sprint one any day and on any ROM.
Text input on the Hero's soft keyboard is just nasty when you are using the official Google Voice client to send SMS. Every once in a while I used to think that the standard Messages application was sluggish, but GV makes it feel amazing.
I am running Fresh 1.1, so I am not sure if that could somehow have some effect (I imagine it wouldn't), but is anyone else having this issue?
I'm using MoDaCo 2.0 and it's very speedy.
Dredging this back up to the top...
All right, I've been on various different ROMs since my first post, and it has been pretty consistent, but I think I have narrowed it down.
It seems the issue I am having has to do with when I am replying to SMS messages. In other words, if there is a conversation I've brought into focus (as in, I can see prior messages above my soft keyboard) THEN it gets laggy. If I just make a new conversation, it is as smooth as butter. But once I send it off and they respond, it gets nasty again.
So my assumption (pending any other suggestions) that there is an issue with the Google Voice app. Anyone else have similar experiences, or can vouch for this occurrence?
I realize that this is an old thread,, but after searching for this very issue, i've found no remedy. If anyone has found anything out, please fill me in.
Perhaps i should disable the sync inbox option?
Ok, so i just rooted my MyTouch3G (original) yesterday, and the rom is excellent. There has only been 1 major problem that i have encountered. Whenever someone sends me an MMS (picture message) the picture is really small and blurry when it gets to me. I've even tried sending myself a picture, to make sure that the problem isn't on the other person's phone, but it still comes small and blurry. Is there any way to fix this?
Help will be greatly appreciated! =)
any help from anyone?
I have the mytouch 1.2 running CM6. I'm having the same issue. i tried what you did with sending it to myself but i got the same results. i also tried a different messenger (Handcent) but it didn't change anything. Might not be a bad idea to head over to cyanogens forum and let them know. cm 6 is a release candidate so expect a few bugs / glitches.
I've installed RoyalGinger2.1 on my MT4G, so far everything seems to be working fine except in my text messages I cant download any pics being sent to me! I don't know if there is a compatibilty issue, or maybe theres a setting i've missed. There anyone that can help me with this?
