First i would like to give my thanks to all for this great site from which i found a lot of info and also found new things that iam using, all my best.
Let's come to my problem, synchronizing outlook from pc to raphael (using greek language) gives everything looks ok, memo's, notes, contact details, tasks, calendar with notes, all of them look perfect in greek, all except the notes into contacts (the notes you can write at the right side of each contact), these are unreadable, i can read only the english words and numbers, anything else is a mess and that's happening olny on these notes, everything else is fine, notes, tasks, addresses, notes in calendar... all in greek and are fine.
Changing the font used for these notes in outlook didn't help, already test english or greek outlook on pc didn't solve the problem..
Any help will be very much appreciated.
regards
(for days now iam searching on threats and nothing found to help on that)
forgot to mension, iam using energy rom 21885 standard

Hi,
I have searched the forums without any luck in finding exaclty what I need so I thought I'd post a new thread...
I have a HTC Trinity (AKA P3600) and I use the calendar very muck. So far only for private entries because I have my meetings at work in Outlook in my PC and haven't really needed them in my phone so far. Now I got promoted and must be able to update my calendar from my phone since my colleagues need to know where I am and who I'm in a meeting with.
The problem is that I don't wanna put my private stuff on our company's server, even though I know I can set appointments as "private". I would really like to either use Outlook Mobile for separate calendars, or I need to find another calnder-appliction to install. And that needs to be one that's not just "a skin" for the information stored in Outlook Mobile (or is it called Pocket Outlook? I don't remeber atm). I would prefer to be able to sync both calendars some way if possible. And oh, I don't mind paying for software if it's good so pelase tell me of commercial applications as well.
Can anyone help me with suggestions on how to solve my problem?
Thanx so much in advance. Have a great day!
Markus
anyone know where i can get outlook for my wm6? i got the phone from a guy who did not have it on there with the rest of office
Well, we would need to know more about what rom you got installed, it may be there, just no icon for it. If its not there, then we might need to work on this a bit as there is no way to actually install office by itself. Also, did you check in your Messaging, thats pretty much where it is
k, i'm not exactly for sure, here's what i do know.
wm6
xplore
crossbow
essence
thats what shows while loading up
starts up ipl and spl 3.08
os 10.2.0.8
gsm 02.19.11
Under office it just shows word, excel, notes, powerpoint but no outlook, and under messaging only shows text, mms, pop3
Hi,
Messaging is just another name for PocketOutlook. Or do you mean the "real" outlook shipped with the phone? This one is only for PC, not the PPC.
there has never been any icon or shortcut to "outlook", but outlook's functionality is built into the phone via the contacts, calendar, and messaging app.
What I find weird is that you do not have an folder under Messaging for "Outlook E-Mail" - that is quite odd.
Do you have contacts and calendar listed in your program folder? Can you sync with your PC and transfer contacts and calendar? If you can connect your PPC to your PC, what happens when you click the option to sync email, or is that option not even there? I think these are things you need to look into.
I am not a chef so I am not sure if this is possible, but perhaps whoever cooked the ROM on that phone may have left out Outlook Email intentionally. If that is the case, then you cannot sync your emails, but the calendar, notes, and contacts should still work.
It does sound as though that ROM is old (if its the xplore rom), and although that ROM is extremely good, a lot of new stuff has come out, so you may want to just flash another ROM, and all the functionalities of outlook will be included. PM me if you need aditional help, but read the stickies, as well.
Ok, I'm not sure if this is the place for this question or not ... but I would appreciate some guidance.
I have the Verizon XV6800 running WM6. I have ActiveSync setup. ActiveSync alone does a horrible job of syncing. It left most of my contacts out for whatever reason. So I installed PocketMirror and all my contacts sync no problem. I still have one tiny problem and am clueless about this.
Many of my contacts have notes. These sync from the PC to the phone just fine. But if I edit the notes on the phone, all newlines are removed when it syncs back to the PC. The notes look good on the phone but are now useless on the PC since every line runs together.
So if my contact's notes are
one
two
three
And I add "four" to the list using my phone, after syncing, it will become:
onetwothreefour
on my PC.
This feels like a solveable problem. But I don't have any idea where to look for this. Is it an Office 2003 setting? Is it an ActiveSync registry entry?
When I emailed PocketMirror, they responded and said:
"PocketMirror can synchronize additional contact folders. Are you using additional contact folders?". Why they hell they are asking me that? Who cares if I have extra folders or not. My question is about corrupted notes synchronizations.
I am also open to alternatives to ActiveSync or other solutions. I just want everything to work in both directions. Calendar, contacts, tasks, files, etc.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. If this is the wrong forum for this question, I apologize.
Thanks
Jerry
Hi Folk,
it is not easy to explain, as I also do NOT know when in happened,
the problem is thas some of my notes are not any more readable in Outlook (I use 2007) but they are in my Polaris, and even after hard reset of Polaris, they can be red properly on my phone but not in Outlook,
In Outlook they also changed the icon, it i now a sort of mic and by clicking on it the VLC is starting :? :? :?
any idea, any solution?
Thanks
Isidar
First of all, I would check your advanced settings in ActiveSync. Some files are converted when they are transferred between a PC and Mobile Device, as you no doubt know. Perhaps you need to alter one of the conversion settings?
As for the icons, this may also be the same problem as above (converting them to the wrong format). Alternatively, check options in your Mobile Outlook. On the last page of options you can choose which icon is used, perhaps this is related?
Let us know how you go.
Hi Jadel,
thank you for your answer, I checked the settings on my sync, every one is left with the same .xxx in Laptop and in device, so that cannot be the problem.
I really did not find the exact .xxx suffix for the NOTES, it is not recongnisable.
Also the Icon it IS depending on the suffix, and the strange thing, is that only some of the notes has changed in Outlook and not all ...
May be I could change the suffix somewhere in the laptop, but I do not know where the notes are stored (I thing they are part of the .pst file of Outlook, and cannot be found on their own)
So I still am without solution, ahhh in the device (Polaris) all notes are displaied fine ...
strange thing ...
Hi to all,
no one any idea ... am I the only one who happened this?
...
tks
Ciao

Might be same problem...
I have HTC HD mini with WM 6.5. Active Sync 4.5 (WinXP SP3) at work and Windows Mobile Device Center (Win7) at home.
After synchronizing Notes, Notes on PDA not readable more. Outlook Item file converting to .pwi file.
Settings on my sync, every one is left with the same .xxx in Laptop and in device.
I have a German version of WM6 and use the built-in contact to organize all my contacts. In some contacts there are notes written in Chinese (multi-bytes, I suppose). After synchronization with Outlook in my desktop, all notes became unreadable, I mean "??????".
I donot know if it happens when I synchronize my contact list with two desktops (work and home) or if it happens whenever I try to synchronize with one of them.
Is it able to specify which encoding should be used, e.g., UTF-8 in WM6 or Outlook in XP or Vista? Or do you have your own solution for it? If so, I would be very grateful if you can share it with me. Many thanks.
