Hey guys, I'd like to know if any of you have come across a PC-based solution that will backup all of the data on my T-Mobile MDA (HTC Wizard)? What I'm looking for is a solution similar to PIMBackup, so that I can easily reflash and then restore all my SMS messages, appointments, contacts etc to the fresh ROM.
I ask because my SD card died a couple of days ago, so I'm unable to copy information off to that, and it's probably going to be around a week for the replacement, but I'm really, really unhappy with the current ROM.
Thanks,
Rich
Okay, I had an idea I figure should work, just for anyone that may find this useful:
Install PIMBackup to the device's internal memory, and backup to My Documents on the device.
Connect to the PC, and copy across the backup file.
Reflash the ROM.
Install PIMBackup onto the newly flashed device's internal memory.
Copy the backup back onto the internal memory.
Restore the backup.
Its that kinda jumping through hoops that I avoided having a flash card I guess.
Hey everyone, so this is the 2nd time my TP2 has had the cprog.exe error, and tf3d 2 wont load. I need to hard reset, but I do not want to lose all my contacts. Is there a file on the phone that contains my contact info? I heard someone mention the pim.vol on another forum but im not sure.
My only method of backup is to copy files to the phones storage card via file manager. I cant get the usb connection to work.
Any suggestions?
Hi all,
I have a generally straight forward question about windows mobile 6.5 and the sd card encryption feature (also the device encryption feature which I read can also be done).
i know that there is no official key escrow and recovery available from microsoft, BUT is it possible to use a backup app like spb backup or sprite backup to save the os image and settings, thus having a copy of the keys inside?
this is so that if a hard reset ever needs to be done, that the backup can be restored and access to the encrypted sdcard files restored.
would this work as workaround for backing up the key? and has anyone tried this yet?
just noticed I should have posted this in the "Questions and Answers" forum. can a mod move this please and thanks

I tried this with sprite backup and failed . i doubt the SPB backup would do better.
Hello.
I have Xperia x8.
I really wanted apps2sd program because phone memory was to small for all apps I downloaded from the market. So I found a tutorial for it (the one for xperia x10 with 60 pages). So the first step was to make some partisions so I downloaded the program MiniTool Partition Wizard. Before deleting the SD disk, I made 2 backups in program "Backup and Restore".
So afted deleting it and making 2 partitions, I wanted to restore my files but when i opened "Restoring" section NOTHING was there!
Down there it says that the last backup was made 2011-11-12 ... Still nothing's there... Now I have no songs anymore, no photos that were important for me, no videos... NOTHING... And when I open "Card" disk when my phone is conected with USB on the computer it's empty, so I even can't install that apps2sd program.
HELP!!!

You formatted your SD card so what do you expect.

Hi all
I made a silly mistake - went to partition my SD card before backing up. Lost some contacts and files I want to get back if possible.
I made a copy of the disk image on my computer using dd, and tried TestDisk to find the previous partitions.. no joy so far.
I did the partitioning with CWM 4.0.1.4
Just wondering if anyone knows some other tools I can try?
Thanks!
