has anyone tried this brand before? There is a kiosk in my local mall that custom cuts and applies screen/body protectors for you. And its not that expencive.
just curious if anyone has heard of them.

I haven't done it, but my buddy got his iPhone done last week as a Kiosk in our mall while I was with him. $35 bucks, for front-and-back, and installation ($25 for just the front and install). Took about 25 minutes. They claim to give you a lifetime warranty, although to reinstall may cost another $5 to $10 (this is all from what the guy at the kiosk told us). But they also said that if Apple/AT&T ever had to replace the device, he just needs to bring in the old material as proof, and they would cover the new device (probably only applies if replacing with the same device).
I talked to my buddy and he says he likes it after the one week. I'm considering it myself. However, my concern is with the battery cover, and whether you will be able to take of off without breaking protector. You have the option of doing just the front, which is probably what I would do, but even that appears to have corners that would cover part of the battery cover.
I can say that the protector is not very noticeable. At least in the short time that I saw it.
As a follow up, i just went to the mall and the Ghost Armor guys said they "didnt have the nexus one kit yet" But they would just hand cut one for 20$.
I didnt do that.
Instead I bought the "do it yourself" screen protectors from Tmobile store.
An hour later i threw them away because they're awfull and a pain to put on.
So in conclusion... dont buy "do it yourself" screen protectors.
Ghost Armor is the same stuff as Zagg's Invisible Shield and Clear Protector. It's indestructible and pretty good, IMO. If they're willing to hand cut and install for $20, then I'd do it in a second, as long as they make it perfect. Tell them you won't pay for it unless it meets your expectations.

I've used them on my HTC Magic. It's good. The cuts are good but not perfect. you can feel them. And it's sticky on tables and such. Which is good and bad. Good is that it'll not fall off. Bad is sticky.
Normal deal is $20 custom cuts are for screen only. I will get it done for my screen if nothing come out soon. I want antiglare screen protector.
All in all, they are better then invisible shield. No orange peel effect and it's thinner.
To recap, on the screen, yes. On the rest of the body, probably not... No, make that definitely not.

I went to a t-mobile store in an attempt to find a similar screen sized protector. I too bought the do it yourself screen protectors. I think it turned out alright.. as a temp solution.
i ordered my Nexus yesterday and the Ghost Armour yesterday also, i will arrive back on this forum with further updates when they both arrive.

I got this done at a mall kiosk yesterday, and they had the N1 cuts. They installed fast and did a great job on it. Only issues is now I cant use my dock. The pins don't make contact with the metal on the bottom of the phone. I am going to try and find a way to make it connect.
For all you who want to do it yourself, it is very easy all you need is an exacto knife, nexus one, a 3 in one copy/printer/photo machine, scotch tape, do it yourself screen protector's, and a steady hand. Put you nexus one screen down on the printer/copier machine and copy your phone and print it out, make sure it's exact size of your nexus if not you messed up go back. Take your exacto knife and cut out the paper copy of your nexus one, cut out all the black with your exacto knife with your steady hand. Then put your cut out of your nexus one screen match it up with your nexus screen again to make sure perfect size. Once your sure its perfect put it on your screen protector and take tap and tape it all down to the screen protector. Take your exacto knife and cut the screen protector carefully. Once all cut out take screen protector put it to phone to match up to make sure you didnt mess up. Clean your screen and apply. I did all this within a matter of 10 minute's(im pretty anal bout my phone). I hope this helps some Edit: I also forgot to add that I do live in Hawaii and it cost an arm an leg to get anything shiped here. So hence my ordeal

Yeah, how fragile is the screen if you pocket the device?
The faceted back gets 2 wear marks on it quickly at the 2 high points on it since they are always rubbing on either the carry case or when you set it down on something. Mine is already showing wear on these two spots on the back after 10 days and I try to take good care of mine. My tilt looked mint after 11 months. Why does att not use a rubber coated back like the original touch pro does? Something tells me this phone will look like crap after a few months use. You have to clean it almost 3 times a day to keep it looking decent too.
I did see an add for a thin film that can be placed on the phone and it covers both the screen and the rest of of the device. They demonstrated by taking a key and 2 I-Pods. Then they scratched both. One was covered in their protected film and the other was not, It made a huge difference.
Something like this is what I would recommend. It is a little expensive but may save your device.

I already had a few light scratches on the screen because ATT had forgotten my screen protector in the CD bag for some reason, luckily the whole stylus switch issue had happened with my phone and I had a valid reason other than the scratches for an exchange.

BUT HTC HAS TO COMPETE WITH THE IPHONE WAAAAAA
Vodaphone had forgotten to give me a screen protector and got 2 bad scratches within the first day.
Emailed HTC and they do offer to refurbish the screen, but need to phone them for what cost.
They also say you can list it as a DOA (dead on arrival) with the retailer if it scraches, but mine is an ebay'ed one

I was using my Fuze the other day, and was scrolling down a website with the stylus, when all of a sudden the god damn stylus scratched my screen. As you can imagine i was mortified and shocked. A big gash only a week into owning my beautiful new fuze. So i take it in and tell them what happened and they gladly replaced the phone. Nice people! Guess the 30 day period does cover scratches, if by stylus!

When you say "that" screen protector. Are you saying they provided one with the FUZE in the box? Or did you buy one separately?

I was applying my invisible shield today and a little bit of the solution got into the earpiece duct, about 10 minutes later my touch screen was no longer functional. I've already returned my phone and getting a new one Saturday. Be careful with your phones guys, a little liquid and its all over.
I love the included screen protector. I've used alot of protectors over the past decade and the stock one holds up better than most (especially for free). I still don't have so much as a blemish on it even with alot of active use and it traveling in my pocket (but no keys). And it's such a good fit that when people check out my phone they tell me that, "You really should get a screen protector before you get any scratches on the glass."

I never even looked in the bag with the quick start guide, sure enough a screen protector and another screen protector that comes on the phone with all the warnings on it.

Does anyone know the manufacturer of the included protector?
I didn't get mine aligned properly, some dust started peeling it from the corner so I had to ditch it and got an invisible shield, but I liked the included one because until you get use to it, the invible shield takes some getting use to.
Just peel your included screen protector off, wash it with some soapy water, and reapply it to your screen again (while still damp, but not drippy wet). Smooth it out and gently move all the bubbles of water out to the edges of the screen, and voila.
It doesn't specifically use a tacky glue so you can reapply it again and again. I do the same trick on my DS for perfectly clear and aligned protection.
Same trick people that tinted my car windows used for getting the plastic onto glass.

Did you wait 12-24hr before putting the battery back in and powering it up after installing the invisibleshield? Because you are supposed to, to prevent exactly what happened.

I can safely say Invisible shield is not a good solution. Generally anything that adheres to your device runs the risk that your finish will lift off if you ever decide to remove the shield.

want the best protector? Buy a psp HORI Protector, cut to size. 100% invisible and only a knife will scratch it. 2 for .99 on ebay
I'd also love to hear people experience with Best Skins Ever. I'm a sucker and always buy the zagg.com stuff, price = quality after all... but would be willing to grab a BSE skin based on peoples reviews, as the markup on zagg.com is ridiculous.
One thing, I dislike with the zagg.com skins is, after a while the protector appears as if it has a gasoline like stain in the middle of it, symmetrical to about half an inch away from the edge of the screen on all sides. So basically a mini rectangle on the inner portion of the display. Any else experience this? and does the BSE have this tendency?

I've been using Invisible shield by Zagg since I bought my Diamond and I completly agree with Lokosis. I also feel the corners are becoming a bit rough, it looks like someone can just pull it off.
* Doesn't fit into my HTC pouch anymore (see picture attached).
* Attracts a lot of dust.
* Don't need a bulky case anymore.
* Gives the back cover a shiny effect.
well yesterday i received my best skins for diamond. i must say delivery was really fast but a little disappointed. i'll tell you why later.

I bought a full cover from invisible shield about a week and a half ago but am still waiting for it to be shipped to me since I live in Australia and there is not stock here.
Didn't realize there was a cheaper alternate to it. I've got to say I'm a bit worried after just reading that post that says it can damage the screen when you remove it after a while...but hopefully I will never have to remove it

nothing to wory dude. even i first bought IS and den after an hour got to know about BSE so i ordered that too. i'd a talk with IS ppl and they say that when i receive the item, then i should take out the screen guard, put it in envelope and send it back to there address. thats it. they said they dont need the box of spray or anything. just the invisible shield in an envelope. and as soon as they receive it, they'll refund you the money. sending it back in envelope is much cheeper and you save alot. so order BSE now and wait for IS to arrive and send it back

I just got the screen one and not the whole case skin because I own an o2 Ignito which has a lovely-grippy-rubber-feeling-matt-black back cover, although it is not as sexy as the standard Diamond my wife has.
I was honestly quite disappointed because it is expensive and honestly looks crap compared to cheaper alternatives.
Have you ever tried Vikuiti by 3M guys?
I have it on my Orbit (it's a PSP screen protector, I opened the Orbit and cut the film on the proper size of the display, once re-assembled you can't see any edge at all) it's impossible to leave fingerprints and it is anti-reflection.
The Diamond one is gloss finishing instead, it costs € 8 on eBay (german seller but ships worldwide)
The invisible shield finally arrived. It wouldn't stick to my screen...lol
Well it stuck to the screen, just that the edges are supposed to bend and protect the sides too and no matter how long i held the edges in their positions for they would just unpeel themselves after a couple of minutes. Gave up on the screen, the rest all went on easily and without any visible bubble thingies. I'm not sure if I really care enough to get a new screen protector for the screen, I was more worried about the back of the phone to be honest
Still kinda dissapointed that the screen protector ended up failing for me

i really don understand where u guys fail. i understand that d edges don stick up but it takes half an hour effort to do it. its easy but takes times and u constantly hav to make it stick.
rest both BSE and IS are great. the point is to make it wet properly and den apply.
the only issue i had is that the IS solution went in my front camera screen and has made it blurred.
rest both are the same according to me.
also to be noted that you do not need to use IS spray. instead you can even put your IS in soapy solutions and apply it like BSE.
the aim is to 1st attch is properly on front screen. let it dry and then bend the edges.

I used enough of the solution, got it lined up perfectly with the phone. It was the edge bits that have to be bent to protect the sides where I went wrong. Just couldn't get them to stick and stay stuck properly for some reason

it takes alot of time for sure. for half an hour i kept trying and thought maybe the adhesive wasnt strong enough. but there are two things, 1st you have to use alot of spray to smoothly allign it on screen and then this excess spray avoids the sides to stick onn. so patience, repeated efforts and only when the solution dries up, that is when it starts to stick onn. very tough for sure but in the end it pays off.
BUT the diff bet IS and BSE is that BSE only covers the screen and does not cover the sides so there is no bending problem like IS.

In that case I think I might buy one of the BSE. I think that trying to protect the sides is simply too much effort and is tedious. Besides that, the sides are fairly scratch resistant and you can't even see those scratches if them do occur without having to look for them anyway. I really think IS should have skipped trying to protect them or made a second piece to go around the outside.

BodyGuardz vs BestSkinsEver
Hello,
Here is my experience. I had a InvisibleSHIELD on my iPod Classic and it was great so I was considering buying one but after reading some of the the feed back it seemed that the product was good but the fit for our diamonds and even the iPhone (which i am now looking for) was not great.
I then heard about BestSkinsEver and because it was so cheap decided to go ahead and try it. I got it over 2 months ago and when I received it I applied it immediately. I have done a few of these so and since I am some what of a perfectionist I applied it to the best I could. It looked OK but after a few weeks the corners started peeling. Also due to the way the backing is placed it puts stress in areas which causes other areas to lift off (this is mostly on the corners). I ended up using a nail clipper to start clipping areas that were peeling off. After about 2 months it started to peal even more so I decided to go back to the reviews and see what was available. After doing some research I decided to go with the 12 piece BodyGuardz. It came in a set of 2 which is nice when i transfer the phone to my wife.
So all of this is to tell you that my first impressions of the BodyGuardz is well as good as I felt when I put the InvisibleSHIELD on my first iPod Classic. For me it did take a while (about 2-3 hours) to apply. This was not done in one sitting but instead because it was a 12 piece I applied each piece with 10 minute intervals allowing for tackiness to set in and so it would be easier to handle as I continued with the many pieces. First major thing I noticed and was really happy about was the BodyGuardz stickiness was considerably more than the BestSkinsEver. It stuck to the corners almost right away. Although throughout the process I did press down on the corners it was quite a bit easier as the BestSkinsEver did not have good stickiness. Also on a side note when i removed the BestSkinsEver it came of like a sticker which i know from my previous iPod is not normal and it usually takes a lot more effort to get it off carefully. Overall I am very happy at my first impressions of the BodyGuardz and the quality of the material seems to be better than the BestSkinsEver. Not to mention the 12 piece may seem like a lot of work but having individual pieces allows for no stress on the film in weird areas allowing it to sit flat with no parts lifting off (so far, i'll update in a month or two). Which is not the same case for the BestSkinsEver and from what I hear the InvisibleSHIELD. Newayz I hope this review helps someone.

I never sprayed the device only the shield itself. I would not recommend spraying the device. That said I do like the spray on the shield as it is a bit more even but you can use any spray bottle. I got one with Bodyguardz but there was not enough fluid in it so i had to fill it up with my own solution newayz.
What have you found to be a good screen protector for the Blaze? I have been looking for something that will last. I just got some "C. Skins" that have a two year warranty off of fleabay for a whole $1.99 so I figured I would give them a try. I'm not expecting much for the price, but figured I would give it a shot. My initial report is that it won't stay down around the edges. I might trim a little off the edges and give it another try. (there were 6 in the package so I can experiment on a couple)
What other brands out have a good reputation and work on the Blaze? Thanks for any and all input.

For over 2 years I carried a Nexus One with me wherever I went. Even though it was my first full screen phone, I only used one of those screen protectors for a few days.
For 2 years it was always carried in my front pocket, mostly in my jeans or shorts, or whatever. I did drop the phone a few times, nothing really catastrophic, but the bigger crime I would commit with my phone is using it sometimes with wet hands, and once or twice I used it in the rain.
My screen for that phone is still in PRISTINE shape. Not a single scratch on it. It has a very very small ding on the phone from when I dropped it once, but when I went to switch carriers, the guy is like, "This phone looks brand spanking new."
It's true I used a silicone style case for the back of the phone, mostly because the N1 is freaking slippery....but the screen was immaculate.
A friend of mine has a similar story with his Iphone 3gs, or whatever it's called. The materials that the phones have been made from for the last few years is pretty durable. I remember watching youtube videos of N1's users taking their brand new phones and marring them with keys, pressing really hard, and they wouldn't scratch.
I have no idea if the screen on this model phone is made of anything similar in a material, but I would certainly assume so, I'm sure most if not all of full screen phones are just as durable.
I didn't even buy a back cover this time, and it's been great.
Anyways, consider going "naked" with your phone. It "feels better".

Thank you for the insight on the screens, I always carry my phone in my front pocket also and I'm worried about cracking the screen if I bend over against something and put pressure on the phone. I might just be overreacting on this but this is my first full screen smarty phone and I don't want to kill it.

Those screen protector films won't protect against the screen being cracked. Minor scratches, sure.
Having said that, it takes a *LOT* to crack the screens. Sure, it can be done easily, but I've seen iphones and htc incredibles lobbed across the room (not thrown like a baseball mind you, but tossed as if you were intending someone to catch it) and the person mis-threw and the phones were fine.
As far as scratches go......even if the phone does get scratched, (which is really hard to do and it needs to either be an extreme freak accident or something done intentionally, seriously I just took a fork to my nexus one tried to scratch it with the fork) the phone will still work. In order to scratch the screen I think you'd need to have something sharp and very hard, like a roofing nail or the tip of a steak knife.
The fork bent, and the screen is still not scratched.
I really understand where you are coming from on wanting to keep your phone in tip top shape, especially since the phones are expensive nowadays, but what I'm trying to say is don't worry about it so much.
The best thing you can do to not damage your phone is to not let them get wet. Don't be that guy at the bar with your phone sitting on the counter just waiting for some drunk guy to accidentally spill his beer on it.
Put that phone in your front pocket, even if you are wearing tight jeans, and have to crouch over, don't worry, your phone will be fine. I've been telling this over and over to a friend of mine who just recently got his first real phone (blah, an iphone 4s) and he treats the phone like it's an infant.
It's so funny. I'm not saying you should use your phone as a hammer to fix your roof, I'm just saying that the phones are rugged. Seriously, think about how many get sold, if they were so fragile, people would be up in arms every 2 weeks when their phone fell off the table.

Having said that, it takes a *LOT* to crack the screens. Sure, it can be done easily, but I've seen iphones and htc incredibles lobbed across the room (not thrown like a baseball mind you, but tossed as if you were intending someone to catch it) and the person mis-threw and the phones were fine.
As far as scratches go......even if the phone does get scratched, (which is really hard to do and it needs to either be an extreme freak accident or something done intentionally, seriously I just took a fork to my nexus one tried to scratch it with the fork) the phone will still work. In order to scratch the screen I think you'd need to have something sharp and very hard, like a roofing nail or the tip of a steak knife.
The fork bent, and the screen is still not scratched.
I really understand where you are coming from on wanting to keep your phone in tip top shape, especially since the phones are expensive nowadays, but what I'm trying to say is don't worry about it so much.
The best thing you can do to not damage your phone is to not let them get wet. Don't be that guy at the bar with your phone sitting on the counter just waiting for some drunk guy to accidentally spill his beer on it.
Put that phone in your front pocket, even if you are wearing tight jeans, and have to crouch over, don't worry, your phone will be fine. I've been telling this over and over to a friend of mine who just recently got his first real phone (blah, an iphone 4s) and he treats the phone like it's an infant.
It's so funny. I'm not saying you should use your phone as a hammer to fix your roof, I'm just saying that the phones are rugged. Seriously, think about how many get sold, if they were so fragile, people would be up in arms every 2 weeks when their phone fell off the table.

normally I keep my phone in my front pocket with change and a lighter. I'm glad to hear that these phones are durable enough not to worry about them too much. Thanks for the insight on this.

I must be one unlucky guy then. I have always put screen protectors on my phone and kept them in cases. I always assume I'll resell the phone and a case offers me comfort in that sense.
With my N1, I needed to change the screen protector and took it off for a day. A DAY... I was careful with it, didn't put it anywhere crazy, nothing on it, etc. Somehow it managed to go from pristine to "big gash luckily not directly over the LCD".
The one time I dropped that phone (again, going "naked") during a change, I incurred a huge indentation on one of the corners. Anyone who's handled an N1 should realize how big a deal that is because the metalic parts of the body were thick aluminum. I really don't know how I managed that dent cuz it also happened from seat level.
From then on I've had the case and screen protectors for new phones BEFORE even having the phones in my hand. I'll agree with the fact that it takes a ton of force to crack the screen, but it also takes just the right angle just that 1 time to create the tortional force to crack the screen.
I've done Zagg as well as many of the glossy static based protectors. My issues with the static based glossy ones (and the Zagg) was with the corners coming up. My bad Zagg experience may simply have been on the N1 due to the screen being practically "above" the edge of the phone.
I've taken a major liking to the Stealth Shieldz offered on Amazon. The Zagg is just plain skin and I found a little difficult to apply. The Stealth Shieldz product is also a wet application (like the Zagg), but there's a hard plastic under the skin that helps it keep it's shape better, and for that I find it easier to apply. I also found it just lasted longer.
I wish the case options were better. Like a red/black version of the Incipio silicrylic... but the phone's still new, so i imagine the cases will come
I love this phone.
I figured I would post a update. I got the Zagg screen protector and love it. Well worth the $15. So far it's holding up great. I've had it on for about 3 weeks and no problems like the el cheap o protectors that would scratch from just sliding my fingers over the screen. And it has a lifetime warranty so if there is any problems I can send it back.

I just went with a case no screen protector. My phone is always in a safe place so I always come out with no scratches etc. When I do go with screen protector I often go with zagg or xtremeguard for my other phones.

Some of those protectors have a treatment on that that acts like polarization. I wear polarized lenses and if I turn the phone one way I can see everything, and if I turn it another, poof....it's gone.
I'd go to a store and try several out if this is a concern for you.
Ballistic case. So well made and feels so solid you want to drop it off your roof.
I personally have also always bought Skinomi screen protectors/full phone protectors on amazon. I NEVER get the dry screen protectors - I just suck at putting them on. Spraying a solution on the screen protector to install it also allows you to adjust where the protector is before it cures to the screen. Just make sure you do it quickly or you will be looking at the same bits of dust for a very long time!
I have always been huge at keeping screen protectors and cases on my phones. I have tried everything from the Matted protectors, to the really cheap ones, and I have tried the Invisible Shield by Zagg, and recently I bought a Ghost Armor protector for my phone. Apparently its supposed to be fingerprint resistant and grease and oil repellent, but it seems like it attracts oil and grease more than anything. The one thing that I hate about the Invisible Shield and the Ghost Armor is the material used. I know its supposed to be scratch resistant, but I hate the feeling of it. The whole rubbery material does not go well with a touchscreen phone, and your fingers stick alot. On top of that it has these weird ripples on it that make the screen look kinda weird. I am actually thinking of removing Ghost Armor and just going to the cheap ones that cost about $5
I am always the type of person who gets a screen protector within the first few hours of owning a phone, but I went about a week without one when I first got the Blaze because I couldn't find one, and have found that the screen is extremely scratch resistant and haven't bothered with one since.
3 months of typical use and so far not a single scratch on the screen, even after sharing the same pocket with some coins and keys.

I'm having trouble deciding on a screen protector as well, but I've always gotten the InvisibleSHIELD. I mostly do so because I can buy the full body skin (or any of the kits they sell), then take it to the mall and they'll apply it all free of charge. If they screw up (they never do), then they'll give me a brand new one. If it gets all scratched up, gets a bubble, or ANYTHING, I just take it to the mall (without a receipt or box or anything) and they'll replace it all totally free. If I screw up applying other protectors, I don't want to have to ship it back and wait for a new one. While others do sometimes have kiosks (from what I've heard), I have yet to actually see one. I've never minded the whole orange peel thing personally, so it doesn't really affect my decision by much. I just love their warranty in combination with the kiosks. It makes it very easy.
Another thing I'm worried about is this: If I get the full body kit, can I still use a case, or will the friction of putting the case on be enough to screw it up? Has anyone had this issue? Should I just get a front and back kit instead? I plan on using case with the phone to protect from drops and what not, I usually just get a Speck Candy Shell or something, although I'm a huge fan of the LifeProof cases since they look good and offer great protection (either or not they'll make a Nexus 4 case is a different story, I suppose).

sgp steinheil is the best it feels smooth like its not there but is extremly hard my nexus s has deep scratches on the screen protector that havent even touched the glass
The best screen protector... is you! Don't slide your phone across the table, don't drop it, and don't put it in your pocket with potentially "dangerous" things (pens, keys, etc.), and all should be ok
I'm not a big fan of screen protectors; I like to have full touch control with my screen, and would rather not worry about what was the cause of my screen not registering that input (was it the screen protector, or just the phone itself?).
Well I don't know what kind of screen protectors you've been using but the ones I've used don't have any effect on the sensitivity of the touchscreen. I am careful with my stuff anyway but the small hairline scratches really annoy/bother me for some reason.

Your question is the best for the N4. But nobody has any of these screen protectors made for the N4, and only a couple really lucky people have the phone. None of the opinions in your poll are actually based on experience with this device and this protector. Wait until people start getting them and then look at reviews.

I'm going with BSE because I've heard a lot of good things about them. Plus I like the wet apply idea. I've ALWAYS had problems with the sticky dry screen protectors. One little piece of fuzz or dust and you have annoying bubbles every where. And over time bits of fuzz/lint get up around the corners and it slowly starts to peel off.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter what you do. Before you know it you'll be in direct sunlight and you'll see all sorts of small little scratches. Then later, you'll always know they're there. I'm OCD about it. I can't stand having the tiny little scratches because I want my phone to stay new. I think the first time you put a phone in your pocket, it gets some sort of tiny little scratch from something.. then over time they build up and make the screen look aweful. Plus its funny you say pens and keys because those things wont scratch gorilla glass. I've tired a key on my old Atrix and nothing comes from it. It's actually particles of dust that have maybe glass or something else hard, or sand.
I want a dry applied one and really wanna know if a dry one can cover the entire screen of Nexus 4.......
XO Skins are the ones I have been using for a few years now. From what I have read xo and sgp are the only ones without orange peel. I don't know how the sgp do on curves though I posted a review of xo in my signature when I had the samsung google nexus
