TouchLockPro G-Sensor problem with HD2? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I tried TouchLockPro.
It seems that it cannot read the HD2 G-Senor properly. From time to time, it gets the correct orientation, but most of the time its doesn't sense any changes. For example, I flipped the phone around (using the movement defined by the default setting) more than five times and I succeeded in unlocking only once. Is anybody else using it?

Everybody happy with the G-Sensor in Touch Lock Pro? I have no idea why it isn't working on my HD2.

No, it doesn't work reliably on the HD2. I tried it for a few days previously, and sometimes, it would become impossible to unlock, using G-sensor, Vol down/up or even the light sensor. So, I've uninstalled it.

I've been using it for a couple of months now and I've not had a problem. Seldom does it not respond first time when I get the gesture correct. It never fails to respond to the volume control. My only problem with it is that it clashes with Throttlelock after going into standby so that I have to remove the battery.

and i have no time when it responds correct;y...almosy everytime it mess up everything, so i am back to standart lock-by pressing the end key

With default settings it will unlock by pressing Volume Down followed by Volume Up.

Ah! This is not listed as one of the ways to unlock (2.4 how to unlock) so I never knew that it was possible.

TouchLockPro on HD2 does not disable buttons in call
Hi, I cannot configure TouchLockPro to disable my hardware buttons when receiving an incoming call. I have switched on the Telephone API but still I can answer incoming calls using a button, which I try to prevent. I have played with the option of thye TAPI configuration screen without succes. What am I doing wrong? Who owns a HD2 and have it working and want to post the correct settings? Thank you.
regards, Danny Groeneveld

I have a Touch Pro2, and I have my G-Sensor set to unlock on upside-down, Portrait, upside-down, Portrait. What I've noticed is that it makes a difference HOW it gets down and then back up. For instance, it works fine as long as I rotate the phone (it's facing me) counterclockwise down and then clockwise back up. But if I rotate clockwise down and then counterclockwise back up, it never unlocks. Doing a clockwise rotate down and back up does work just fine if it's followed by either a forward or backward flip and then back up. But two full 360 degree turns in ANY direction don't seem to work.
Fortunately, I'm right-handed, so it's working out well for me.
P.S. This is one of the best apps EVER! Thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOO much to the author for developng it!!!!

Single press device Lock

Folks, any idea how to switch off the screen / lock the keyboard without the need of double press the red power button?
This is kind of bothering cause when you're in a application and need quickly to put your Treo into your pocket, you need to press 1st to get to the home-screen and 2nd to switch off.
Yeah, seems to be something new with the 750 (no other treo before did this). Palm set this up purposely, so I wouldn't assume there's a workaround for it. You'll get used to double clicking
Not that I know
I have used it for ages and found many shortcuts but no "quick lock".
Sorry
How about getting an application that device locks your phone upon return from standby? I use BatteryStatus Today Plugin by Chi Tai Dang.. This plugin has the option to lock device on wakeup and set cpu speed(I use this a lot)..
But mine's a wizard, what do I know about Treo.. but what I do now is, press the power button to get the phone to go into standby and when I want to use it again, I press the power button and it will device lock upon wake up.
I don't have a Treo. How do you initiate said keyboard lock normally?

"Device lock" that you may know of isn't used on Treo's. Palm uses their own "keyguard," which uses the red END button as a power button when not on the phone. If you are on the today screen, one click will shut the device off. However, if you are in another program, the first tap brings you to the today screen, and the second click turns the screen off (and the keyguard on if you have selected it to be that way). On all other treo's, WM or POS, one click of the end button would shut the screen off (unless you were on the phone obviously, it would be the END function), regardless of what program you were in. Palm changed this, I assume, to be like most cell phones, where when you press the END key it returns to the home screen, regardless of what you were doing. Like a RAZR would do.
Thats the best way I can explain it. You would be surprised Vijay on how many customizations Palm made to the OS.
Yes, I've heard that they did - thank Goodness one of the OEMs finally saw fit to do something original.
Hmm.. from what you describe, clicking twice doesn't seem like a very big chore... I did something similar in VJOkButt. Is it really necessary to convert the 2 clicks to 1 click? Investigating it barely seems worth the effort
V
I agree, hence my original post.
When you are on the today screen, it works normally. And you can double-click quite rapidly and it will work. Not a big deal for me.
yes guys, its not that dramatical, but still, it would be an improvement also considering that I want to stay in that one application (a note which I'm editing) and want to get there after waking up the device again without the need of again starting application, look for the last note, opening etc...
with HTC hermes and others the power button works exactly like this and its even better.
Hi all,
If you're using it two handed hold option (the white key, left hand end of row 3) and press the red button once - closes the app and powers off.
But you need an odd-shaped hand to do that one handed!
It is not that the double click isn't easy to do, it's waht fire00 said; if you are in an app, it closes it and then powers off. Case in point, this weekend while driving to a friend's house, I had directions in my email and would have liked to have turned off the phone, but then I would have to find the email again and open it up. On my Wizard, i would just turn it off and then back on and the email would be there for me.
Gotta be a reg hack for someone to find.

On my device, that method doesn't close the app. It just locks the keyboard and then powers off. When I power on again, the app is still running and on screen. I think that's what fire00 was looking for.

Sorry PJC ACE, my mis-type - using option + red button powers the device off WITHOUT closing the app - just like the power button on the Wizard ;-)

Option (hold)+Red Phone button is a nice alternative, but I'd really like to find a way to prevent the Red Phone from reverting to the Today screen, so I can power off directly with it with one press...Vodafone's excuse for specifically asking for it this way (every other phone's "End" button brings you back to the "home" screen) is ridiculous, these aren't like every other phone.
I installed HTC home plugin and now my red button wont let me go into standby. I uninstalled and still not working. Any ideas?
Side Button + Suspend
There is a thread at TreoCentral that explaines how to activate the side button and make it available for button assignment in the settings screen.
Second there is a small program called suspend.
I have mapped the 1 press of the side button to suspend and away we go.
1 - Click keyguards/screen off.
Also it resume in the place or program you left when you unlock it.

Slide2Unlock Replacement

I am in love with the functionality of Slide2Unlock but it seems to eat memory like crazy and cause weird issues on every ROM I have used (WizardG3).
Does anyone have a locking application that requires pressing the power button to activate the screen and then hold the d-pad for a second to unlock?
I can't always be tapping the screen with my finger or taking the time to get the stylus out.
Hi Xoom, sorry I want to ask you a question instead answering your question.
You asked, "Does anyone have a locking application that requires pressing the power button to activate the screen and then hold the d-pad for a second to unlock?"
Does it mean using Slide2Unlock, I could wake the phone from standby only by tapping the screen, without pressing any button?
Thanks.
Hi
Which version of S2U you are referring to? Version 1 or 2? V.2 now only occupy 1MB of RAM.

Currently with slide2unlock (v2) Using the D-Pad you can unlock the phone or you can use the slider on the touch screen, both to bring the phone into an unlocked state (displaying the today screen)
I notice it runs with 1mb of memory. Maybe it's just a scapegoat along with Voicecommand running at 1mb but something is killing the performance on my phone and having it lock up all the time.
I think I just need a new/custom version of wm6.

No, Sorry for the confusion, I have to push the power button then use the d-pad or touch screen to unlock. If it were possible, I don't think I would like that solution, I figure the phone would be getting "touched" in my pocket all the time.

I was thinking maybe only parts of the screen that is "touchable", so it's not always getting "touched" and would save some batt. And even if it's being "touched", it's still locked and it won't do any unwanted action... at least.
I guess, I'm getting paranoid with the button. But someone's confirming it:
"Naturally I set it to the power button, but after a while, that button got worn down and stopped "working" so I naturally set it to recognize any other button.
This experience has taught me the hard way, that its a good choice to have (or maybe even a necessity in some cases) that other buttons to wake the unit up in case of situations like this."
Taken from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315329
I know we could remap the button, however, it is still pushing the button. Eventually, it could wear the button off.
Su2u has a sweet config app translated to most languages, and has a lots of config options, look into that..

Wakeup display just to show the time when pressing a button

Hi all,
Sorry for the cross-post, but I just realized that this is probably the best forum for my question..
I normally don't carry a watch, so I look at my TC to get the time. I would like this funtionality mapped to one of the hardware buttons:
Wakeup the display and show a big clock for a second or two, then turn off the display again. (Preferably, the device should still be locked throughout this.)
Is there any similar software?
Thank's in advance!
Edit/Delete Message
hi
i have an x7500 and i use the app called slide 2 unlock. that's the iphone program developed for ppcs. what happens is when i press the power button, the screen comes alive and the 2 most prominent features on the screen are the time (large display) and the slide to unlock the device. i then press the power button again or i leave it to power down on it's own. the same thing happens when a call comes through. i have a bt headset and the screen comes alive. but no app can be launched because the slide 2 unlock button will in fact lock the screen. the only way to unlock it is by unlocking it using the slider.
other's in the forum could have other apps as well. but so far that works for me.
just my 2 cents
Thank you very much, Robson!
Based on your description, I'll keep looking for something that will not interfere when a call comes. Thank's anyway, though!
Anyone else with any ideas?

You can disable the phone options in S2U2 if you want
Thank's, DocteurN! That's pretty close, except if set to 5secs it will turn off the phone after five all the time, not just when Ive pressed the power-button to get the time. Nearly there..
SPB Mobile Shell does this with its now screen. OR SPB Time can do it with its screensaver !
Both must haves anyway imho !
Dave
Thank you dmj1973! I'm trying with the SPB apps now.
The SPB apps are great but there is no keylock, as far as I can see..?
Basically, from sleep mode, I just want to push a button to see the today screen or at least the time for a second or two, without unlocking the device.
Which is exactly what I do with S2U2 - I press the power button, glance at the time, then hit it again... Perfect!

Lock Screen during calls

Greetings all.
Does anyone know of a good way of locking the screen while making a phone call? I've tried proximity sensor, which does not work on my phone. I currently have my time out setting at 15 seconds, but that does not work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm sick of face dialing/hanging up.
Proximity sensor does not work at all for me, either. I have been begging and begging people on the forum to help come up with a way to remove or disable the huge "End call" button, as I am constantly hanging up on people with my face.
It is the number one suckiest thing about my Hero right now.
oh, i am looking for this kind of software but found nothing
Probably one of the best "answer/hang up" functions I saw was with SIPdroid. Slide up to answer, slide down to hang up. Of course, the data service is not good enough to always use that though.....
I put the notification bar down down, but it seems almost buggy, sometimes the notification bar stays down and sometimes it just moves up by itself again.

And, then, enjoy the vibrations as you move your homescreen icons around with your face.
Why is there so much resistance to figuring out how to either lock the screen during a call or just disable or remove the stupid soft "End call" button?
Is it significantly more difficult than changing the button color or creating a ROM?

Home button is cool if you happen to only touch the end call button and never anything else. I personally called a friend and sent 4 blank texts to someone, don't ask me how....
Home button will cause as many problems. Notification bar coming down is the best way I've found....
an even better way. hold the menu button down.

Well, google is my friend, i don't know why I doubted ye...
Screen Suite does it for me. The app is $1.99, but it has a setting where it automatically locks the screen on calls.
A bluetooth headset negates that problem completely......

How do you like it? I found it and it seemed kind of bloated with a lot of features I don't need. Does it eat up memory/power?

I don't get why you guys are having so many issues with this, my phone screen locks at the default of 30s when in calls, it has done this as long as I have had the phone.

Mine usually does. Unless it thinks I'm pressing things with my face, which keeps it awake.
That is... if my face doesn't end the call by the time the 30 seconds is up. My guess? It's probably the shape of our faces?
I just try to hold the bottom part of the screen away from my face. Once the screen turns off I've never hung up on someone.

Hmm another good one! Any keyboard presses do anything nasty? I'm on swype but I wonder if hitting the mic button on the hacked keyboard would do anything annoying.
Thanks for the tip!
My main problem is when my wife calls, and wants to talk to my son. His face is a lot smaller, and well, everything get screwed up when he uses the phone. As for the program, it does have a lot of features, but all I did was have it set to auto-lock on phone calls. I still have my default vanilla lock screen.
Lack of a both a proximity sensor and dedicated screen-off button is this phone's single unforgivable flaw.
I will never again buy a touchscreen device without at least one of these.

Requesting custom app: Unlock screen without top power button

Basically, im sure others would like this too, i want to be able to unlock the screen without having to reach up on top of the phone. I previously had the HTC Hero and i found out the trick to unlock the phone by hitting menu twice. Would someone be able to configure an app that changes the way the phone unlocks. ps i saw something with the ringer keys, im not really too fond of it. Thanks
Even the Volume keys would be much better than the power button. The menu button as you mentioned would be even better. The power button to unlock when you have a hard case on is stressful lol. I cuss'd it every time i had to use it. I use No lock now which disables the lock screen and allows the volume keys to wake it. Even using the volume keys can get annoying though. No lock screen at all is the downside (to some), so no cool sense weather animations when you wake it. Having the actual lock screen appear after waking with volume (instead of power) would be teh shiznit, Menu buttons would be even better, A rapid shaking of the phone to display the Lock screen would be my favorite though!
yeah the ringer key one is out somewhere but i want something different. Anyone up to it or trying to ATM
waking up by touching the screen would be nice too. maybe a gesture of some sort could be an option.
I'm pretty sure we can't use the touch buttons to unlock the screen as they only function when the screen is on, so an app that allows that would prolly kill the battery 10fold because it would need the screen to remain semi on.
Only other options are the volume keys, those are right there by the power button...soo yeah.
I could be wrong, who knows.
NM..........
download "no lock" from the market. it enables the volume rocker to unlock the evo. it also bypasses the slide to unlock button as well. goes right onto the homescreen. whenever i need my phone, password secured, i just use the widget to turn it off. reverts back to normal. this should be exactly what you are looking for. free app.
