Can't find Peep (twitter) - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

After I rooted my phone today and installed the fresh rom, I no longer have the Peep program (twitter client).
Any ideas?
Thanks.

download flips pre kitchen and reinstall it that way along with any other stock app that was removed....it was removed from fresh rom's along with the rest of sprints and htc bloatware.

Hmmm could be because he didn't include it in his release?...

I actually took that as an opportunity to try and like Twidroid, which is probably the most popular twitter client for Android.
Give it a try, you'll probably like it.
Other than that, yeah, use flipz's pre-kitchen tool to load Peep back onto your phone.

Thank you. I got it back now.

ROM 1.6 Donut

If you guys haven't seen it, i'm in the process of installing itn ow to check it out.
To clairfy its not perfect, but it's got everything working but bluetooth. Still has some bugs, but its in the process.
been using this ROM since yesterday. Works very well. It was also covered on XDA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622523
Yep. Its in the rom wiki. I'm actually running it now.
Used fresh kitchen to push googlebits. Its pretty fast, like some of the changes, not the keyboard. I would like to see this rom with espresso.
Oh i didnt notice it was on the wiki, honestly i never check it.
Do you guys know if it has the market, or is the only way to put apps on it is manually
Edit: After reading through the read i saw my answer, nevermind.
You have to manually install all of the google apps then you will have market.

Just finishing doing that. Have to say, 1.6 is fast. I have no use for bluetooth personally, so i think i may rock thier for a while if it stays this stable.
You can fix the dictionary by flashing this file Flipz hooked us up with:
http://www.4shared.com/file/178486181/ca22758f/ime_update-signed.html
Reboot after.
If for whatever reason that doesn't work (i was flashing/re-flashing for a while prior to ensuring this fix did the trick) here is the original post by Flipz with good instructions on manually fixing the dictionary.

Thank you for that, i just applied it.
Do you happen to have the original post? After applying that, the onscreen keyboard doesnt come up anymore? theres no keyboard installed according to the phone.
Yeah, it is pretty slick. I would really like sense mixed in though.
i am personally tired of sense, i would LOVE this if bt worked
i used it everyday t work (I work at sprint) and I use it every night on phone..
Love Sense but after trying this ROM I can't believe how much faster things work with Vanilla - wouldn't miss Sense at all. What I WOULD miss is the HTC Music Player, Calendar, and Dialer.
And HTC Keyboard....Couldn't get touch input to work on this ROM.
headphones not working
I just installed the 1.6 ASOP and did the whole signed download after loading and everything but I cannot get my headphones to register on the phone when ever i listen to music it just comes out of the speaker not headphones any one else with this problem
I can confirm that..That is a bummer. Back to fresh
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5195304&postcount=4
Opps, sorry for that. Here is the original post from Flipz. I was afraid that it would not work. Follow his instructions and then adb push it over. This I can assure you works.
figures...just whiped Thanks though!
any news on bluetooth working? or progress?
I wanna run this as my daily but without bt i cant even think about it :/
Id like to try this!..what r the main issues with this rom rjght now?..since its not running srese,i take it it only has 3 screens, right?

Bluetooth, yes 3 screens hut you can add more. Also, on Android central, someone posted a signed zip for googlebits.

[req] gmail app apk?

I dunno where to exactly ask this, but the Eris just recently got 2.1 leaked however one of the issues I have noticed that the gmail app is not loading pics for some reason. So, I was wondering if there was a kind developer/user that is willing to give us the N1's gmail 2.1 apk so we can install it on our 2.1 device and see if that fixes the issues. Thank you.

You could just download gapps-passion-ERE36B-2-signed (here) and extract Gmail.apk.
And that has the 2.1 gmail apk? Thanks
Should I also install the GmailProvider.apk also? If so, what order? Thanks.
I guess when I click on the gmai apk, either one, I can't install it as it shows it is installed and when I hit uninstall it doesn't work.
Turns out, the issue may not be gmail per-say but something about the leaked update not allowing full access to the internet.
Do you have the Desire apk(including sense apks) to upload?
It is a problem with gmail http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2507 not with the leaked rom.
again how did i not have that issue with 1.5?

That's a question best asked to Google, not XDA. This problem affects handsets across multiple versions of Android. I couldn't care less though. I can't f'ing stand inline images. Attach or don't send me anything.
Yeah, the more I am started reading more I notice it an Android problem and not an issue with the leaked 2.1 rom. Thank you all.

Sprint Music Store in Energy ROM?

Okay, I've spent the last 3 days looking for any info on accessing the Sprint Music Store after installing an Energy ROM. I've found a couple things that looked promising, but nothing has worked. If there is already an answer here somewhere, I'm sorry, but I've missed it.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Is there a specific reason why you would even want sprint music store? You could get off a lot cheaper by signing up for a different plan through an online network. (there are plenty) Plus you can use just about any mobile browser to download your songs.
There may be, but I have never seen a Sprint Music Store program for a flashed ROM (Unless the chef has specifically cooked it into his recipe.)
BUT..................... If you are really hard up for sprint music downloads, you can just go to the sprint mobile website and download any of their mobile apps/music.
Hope this helps.
It's not that I HAVE to have the Sprint Music store, but.... our contract at work gives us a few free downloads each month, and I already have almost 100 songs that I can't use now that I've flashed my ROM.
It looks like Sprint took away the ability to log on to their website and download songs.
I am able to log on to the sprint website and download. Are you using Pocket Internet Explorer or Opera? You should be able to use PIE or Opera 9.5 and login/download. I am not sure about newer versions of opera/opera mini/skyfire/etc.

Which ROM are you using? Energy ROM comes with Opera 10 and they are not cooking Sprint Music in to that ROM.
When you say you can log on to the Sprint website and dowload, what do you mean? Can you be a little more specific? What URL are you using?
I am using NRG "Leo" ROM March 7 23542 WM 6.5.5 w/ Sense 2.5.2012
If you don't want to use the Opera 10 Beta, just install a different version. Grab a cab file anywhere and find the browser that works best for you.
If you go to "sprint.com" and at the bottom left of the screen click the "digital lounge" link you have access to everything you can possibly download to your phone through sprint. Games, wallpapers, ringtones, calltones, and music. (among others).
The exact address of the generic digital lounge is:
https://manage.sprintpcs.com/Manage...HP_DME_Link_ShopDigitalLounge!26zone=Overview
Although to purchase anything, you have to sign in to your sprint vision account.
Hope this helps, let me know if there is anything else you need help with on this....

Yes, I see the music link here, but when I log in, it goes away and is replaced by a TV/Radio link. I heard Sprint was only going to allow certain devices to only download music on the device, and that seems to be true from what I'm seeing.
Sorry, didn't even go that far with it. I gave up on the sprint store back when I had my PPC6700 (BTW I have had the exact same phones as in your sig... except for the diamond.)
only thing I could suggest is to flash a shipped ROM, download away at the music store, and move the music files to your storage card. Sucks but I have nothing else, and haven't found anything in the way of installing the software for it.

I thought of that before I flashed the ROM, but it seems as though there's no way to keep the DRM intact. None of the downloaded songs play anymore.

Another victory for DRM, keeping people from using what they lawfully purchased
Sorry I couldn't be more help to you.

document viewer

So the original software that came with the phone had a document viewer to view speadsheets and other documents. The 2.1 ROM I am using now (damages) doesn't have this and I would like it for work. The only ones I see in the market are paid apps.
Anyone have or know the app name that came with the original software? An .apk would be nice if anyone has it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
check inside fresh rom or modaco
thanks i will try that!
I browsed around in some of them with no luck, but I will try those two. I think it was called quickoffice but I am not sure....
yes that is correct I want to say that I found it in data>app in fresh 1.1
no luck in fresh's...
Found it in Modaco's 2.0 modified though... gonna try it in 2.1 hope it works.
Got it and it works....
when I open it it shows every .txt file in the phone though... I am wondering is there anyway I can hide the app to when it only opens stuff in mail or only when I select something applicable?
When I was running fresh 2.0c I used pre-kitchen and pushed over quick office with no problems. You might try to undo what you did and try that method.

[Q] Need Help installing ripped app

I pulled the Browser.apk from my stock hero with Sense UI. I then pushed it to /syste/app/Browser.apk while running cm6. everything went great until I tried to install. Get 'did not install' message. Is there a way to make this work? any help would be greatly appreciated
Anyone?? Anything??
thanks for the help!! this is a great community!!!
I don't know if it's even posible A while back I tried (and failed) to push the Htc music apk to my g1 running cyanogen mod; turns out, it just was not possible as it was. Someone later cracked the app and posted it here on XDA. Also maybe you should post why you want the htc browser on your phone as maybe someone can suggest an alternative.
We'll if you read it says hero.. and I'm running cm6.. It's all there.. I want the sense browser because I like it and it has flash that works, unlike many I've tried. Plus it has an option to load pages as full html Instead of mobile.
Why don't you use Skyfire? It can run flash and has the option of HTML (desktop) vs mobile and you can install it off the market for free. Let me know if I am missing something.
