If you guys haven't seen it, i'm in the process of installing itn ow to check it out.
To clairfy its not perfect, but it's got everything working but bluetooth. Still has some bugs, but its in the process.
been using this ROM since yesterday. Works very well. It was also covered on XDA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622523
Yep. Its in the rom wiki. I'm actually running it now.
Used fresh kitchen to push googlebits. Its pretty fast, like some of the changes, not the keyboard. I would like to see this rom with espresso.
Oh i didnt notice it was on the wiki, honestly i never check it.
Do you guys know if it has the market, or is the only way to put apps on it is manually
Edit: After reading through the read i saw my answer, nevermind.
You have to manually install all of the google apps then you will have market.

Just finishing doing that. Have to say, 1.6 is fast. I have no use for bluetooth personally, so i think i may rock thier for a while if it stays this stable.
You can fix the dictionary by flashing this file Flipz hooked us up with:
http://www.4shared.com/file/178486181/ca22758f/ime_update-signed.html
Reboot after.
If for whatever reason that doesn't work (i was flashing/re-flashing for a while prior to ensuring this fix did the trick) here is the original post by Flipz with good instructions on manually fixing the dictionary.

Thank you for that, i just applied it.
Do you happen to have the original post? After applying that, the onscreen keyboard doesnt come up anymore? theres no keyboard installed according to the phone.
Yeah, it is pretty slick. I would really like sense mixed in though.
i am personally tired of sense, i would LOVE this if bt worked
i used it everyday t work (I work at sprint) and I use it every night on phone..
Love Sense but after trying this ROM I can't believe how much faster things work with Vanilla - wouldn't miss Sense at all. What I WOULD miss is the HTC Music Player, Calendar, and Dialer.
And HTC Keyboard....Couldn't get touch input to work on this ROM.
headphones not working
I just installed the 1.6 ASOP and did the whole signed download after loading and everything but I cannot get my headphones to register on the phone when ever i listen to music it just comes out of the speaker not headphones any one else with this problem
I can confirm that..That is a bummer. Back to fresh
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5195304&postcount=4
Opps, sorry for that. Here is the original post from Flipz. I was afraid that it would not work. Follow his instructions and then adb push it over. This I can assure you works.
figures...just whiped Thanks though!

Bluetooth, yes 3 screens hut you can add more. Also, on Android central, someone posted a signed zip for googlebits.

flash the rom and post here if it works for you.
Loads fine and works good. Will test this out and let you know how it goes. Thank you for the release.
I just flashed this rom, it seems very nice. By that i mean, it is fast, doesn't take too much time to load things. Specialy my music library, every other rom i have tried took a little while to load my music library, But this rom did not take half as much time as the others.
One thing i would like to have changed or removed is the poweroff, and the reason i am asking for is because if you are listening to music and if you press the power button to save battery life it shuts down the music player.
Another beautifull thing i would like to mention about this rom is that if you are texting while listening to music, and decide to use the QWERTY keyboard it doesn't shut down the music player, which all the other roms i have tried had this issue.
One more to mention, is when i flashed this rom, it did not show me the screen for customization and everything was already customized and set for use, which would eventually reset the device which itself takes a lot of time.
So far thums up

Just flashed it.
Pros:
<1>The bluetooth device driver is working! Thanks!
<2>Very fast. After I installed the cabs I needed, the memory is about 18MB without Music and Photo tabs.
<3>Internet, email and weather works.
<4>The sound is clear and loud.
Since I am using Tmobile wing (sample of mismatch: @ is mismatched to =), I had to install the keyboard fix - AEKMap 1.3.

I will definitely search for the tweak, i clearly forgot to mention that i flashed a t-mobile wing.
But one problem i am having is the wifi connectivity, i do get a strong signal from my router but it actually doesn't connect.
I am also searching for network wizard cab, so i can check mms. If you have it handy can you post the link for it.
I found out that in the programs tab, if you click only once on a program link it opens it up. which all other roms i had tried had the problem of needing double clicking. So it definitely is another positive point.

You can make it 12hr it by going to settings>system>regional settings>time> change style to the 1st or 2nd option.
I like the 24hr clock as it looks prettier on this theme.

Hey, I've finally got around to getting root access on the g1, I've got the multi touch which I think is pretty cool and auto rotate. What else could I do with my new found freedom? Getting apps to install to memory card is next on the list (will do it tonight if I can get my head around the instructions) but is there anything else I can do that's useful or any cool ? Also what can I do if I install debian, anything at this point? Think that's about it.. thans in advance.... dan
Themes, maybe. Give your G1 a unique look.
I'm sure you may have them already but download screenshot and task manager. I would definatly go for a theme, there are some really awesome ones out there. You can delete unwanted ringtones, alarms, notifications too like i did!
tether start
tether stop
making my phone a wireless modem/router was pretty much the whole reason i took root.
help with 4 really needed
1)im looking for theme but being a uk (rc8) user there doesnt seem to be much of a selection out there
2)ive not actually got screenshot will grab that and task manager
3)I was under the impresion the tethering wasnt too great and we wernt able to share the internet connection from the phone (to access everything at least) wirelessly or wired? Please correct me if Im wrong as this would be ace.
4)Im trying to install a custom boot image however im not able to get the androids with skates up (definatly had this earlier) yet the recovery images seems ok, have installed hard spl.. am a bit confused on this on, anyone able to help?
Cheers.
ok well i got the tethering done an im impressed does all i need it too.. shame its not secure but im not all that worried .
just incase anyone wants the instructions i found them here:
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f28/im-wirelessly-tethering-through-my-g1-11555/
yup my main reason for the root acces was themes and tether
Right I've managed to get a theme on here but I don't seem to have browser auto rotate or multi touch, anyone have any ideas? Cheers again
I'm new to all this too, and had the same thought immediately after getting root for the first time! One of the first things i did was put caches onto the sd card. If you are always getting low memory warnings than this will help! I followed THIS guide to do it.
I will try my first theme tonight after I charge up my phone.
I guess a question I have is, what are the benefits of adp 1.1 and Fastboot? Is it something that I should do or just something that I could do, if that makes any sense? Right now just putting JF's 1.41 rc30 on is a big enough deal, to give you an idea of where I am in regards with this scene right now.
Thanks!
Install HardSPL, it can come in handy if something goes wrong and you need it to flash boot screens.

give this man a medal
Since k4r1m, who ported the JacHeroSki ROM to 32A, seems to be AFK for a while I tought I'd give this whole porting thing a try, so I did a JACxHERO 1.2 port for the 32A Magics out there.
I'll be honest, I don't have enough knowledge nor am I willing to support the ROM with current updates and such, I did it for my personal use and to try out Amon_RA's porting process. What this means is: I'm releasing this as is, there probably won't be any bugfixes and stuff, unless they are for simple things or for some of the known problems, so please don't ask for this.
Ok, with that out of the way, props go to the usual suspects:
Amon_RA, for the great recovery and the porting instructions
JAC and Drizzy, for the ROM
Haykuro, for all the work he has done for the Android community
And everyone else I might be missing
Known Problems (if anyone has a solution for these please let me know):
- G-sensor doesn't work in some apps (e.g. Messages)
- bluetooth problems from all Hero ROMs
I've been using the ROM for a day or so, and everything else seems to be working fine. The ROM feels a little more responsive overall than the latest JacHeroSki build by k4r1m.
This a simple and straightforward port, I just replaced some files (e.g. wlan.ko) and the kernel, so you can check the original Dream thread here for the full info on the ROM.
You can download the ROM here: http://rapidshare.com/files/265467373/JACxHERO-1.2-32A-signed.zip
Enjoy and please post feedback
Tks a lot!!
I'll try and then I'll give you my "results"
I've been trying this rom and it seems more responsive than the last jacheroski rom. Also the Internet browser is a lot faster.
I haven't noticed any bug, but I've tried this rom only for a few hours.
By the way thanks for porting this rom.
Thanks~ will try it and hopefully it will have A2DP.
thanks! i was wondering when someone would port for 32a.
This is an excelent work!!!! No bugs so far
3 Questions
1. I Partitioned my card using RAV auto script, How do i know for sure if it is partitioned correctly
2. Do i need a partition for this rom?
3. Does it have apps2SD? if so how the hell does it work? (does it install apps automatically to SD?)

nope...timestamp issue still exists and is still annoying
the rom is much quicker than fatality's rendition of Hero...two problems i've encountered with this one however are
A) HTC Clock and Weather widgets fail to read gps coordinates and get data/current location
B) It very frequently kicks me off the rogers 3G network and onto Edge...a problem i didn't have with Fatality's Hero Rom
So far i just found one bug.
Compared with JACHeroski this is must faster!! And I dont have timestamp issue. And if you have, if you change time zone you fix it. My GPS reads the location corretly.
About 3G and EDGE I dont know because I'm in an area with weak 3G signal...
The bug I found is about fotos in contacts. Even if I chose An album foto, from time to time change to my facebook foto even if I dont want to.
ROM is smoother then the other Hero ROMs I have tried so far.
GPS lock takes sometime but I guess I had that with all Hero ROMs I have tried. SMS received with correct time-stamp.
So far I like it still not sure if I have to enable swap or is it automatic I have three partitions fat32+ext3+swap.

That's a good question. Has anyone been able to compare? I am currently using JACHeroski 2.7.4r2 and it seems faster than ROMs I previously used however it is a bit buggy and some applications crash from time to time.
the rom is fast, very fast in scrolling widget, but there are same bug:
-the weather and bookmarks htc widget haven't the background
-g-sensor don't work in messages and in some applications
According to me if we resolved these problems the rom is great!
Have to agree with the rest. This is a fast rom.
Unfortunately it was not able to pickup any mobile data network 2g/3g. All other roms has mobile data access on my phone - but not this one.
If anyone knows of anything which could fix this please let me know – like replace a lib or apk or…
Regarding g-sensor in messages. I use handcent sms, and the g-sensor works in that.
UPDATE:
APN was missing.
Other roms must be able to pull the info from the sim-card, as its not listed in the apn.conf in any of the other roms i have tried. I just booted an other roms, copyed the APN setup and now the mobile data network works.

1. You either trust Amon_RA, or you put your card in a card reader and check the partition table (you can google on how to do this on whatever OS you use).
2. & 3. I believe Swap & CompCache are not enabled and not sure about APPS2SD, so probably not, but it doesn't hurt either, so you might as well leave the card partitioned.

The g-sensor problem is a known problem and if anyone knows why it happens I'll gladly fix it. The "no background" is a "feature", JAC and Drizzy have changed the look of some stuff, including taking out the background from some widgets. I don't like it either, but I'm just the "porter", maybe you can leave that sugestion in the original Dream thread

Check your APN settings they are probably empty hence why you have no Data Connection. If that's the case just add them manually, otherwise I afraid I can't help.

HI can anyone tell me where to get new skype from 2.07 rom ???
thanks in advance.
You won't find anyone with it here. The best solution is to simply flash to a ROM that has it.
I have so much data on phone can't backup all of it so dont wana change rom for time being........
Im not sure where to grab the version of swype that has been extracted from the 2.07 rom... i am trying to find it myself!
The swype cab created from the version ripped from the Samsung Omnia 2 is all over the web though... google should bring up a couple of places to download it from.
Does anyone know of any differences between the two versions?

You will have to search in the underground... Extracting the software and offering it as a cab is clearly not wanted by the creators and owners of the software. Offering links to warez is completely against xda rules.
The difference between the 2 might be some more language support, and that the HD2 version was made for HD2, as simple as that. I think it still might be an option to flash a ROM which carries it on board - or, at least, as long as this is tolerated.
Maybe in the close future, HTC will bring another ROM update which offers this great piece of software. Or, as stated otherwise, Swype might decide to make a retail offer at some time. If they do at a decent price, I believe they could do great business - as seen with other products, at unreasonably high prices, you won´t sell big, but at fair pricing, you can succeed.
I cannot find the new version anywhere!
If anyone has a link or would like to email it to me that would be very much appreciated!!

I had the same thing, only installed yesterday so didn't do much checking of the phone. Quite a few problem were caused by the T-Mobile version . Data connection is screwed and all email passwords needed to be reset and my Wifi password are also gone lol. Did some reading online as well and quite a few other people have experienced the same problems, some have even had to HARD RESET to get their phones working correctly, fortunetly for me just uninstalling the CAB and giving the phone a few minutes resolved my Data connection issues , will put back on the Omnia version and leave it at that for the time being.
So I advice using the newest version of Swype with EXTREME caution!!!!
I tried it after much hesitation... Had to do a new setup for all email accounts, data connection and wifi connection. But it seems to be fine now, I'll see in a few days if it stays like that.
I'm using SWYPE WVGA 3.9.10.10.5032 on my HD2 without any problems.

Had the same, but all I had to do was re-enter the passwords (and mail servers for gmail) and re-run the connection setup wizard. Now I'm fine and dandy and the software is nothing short of awesome... Supports Italian, German, French, English and Spanish; I tested all languages and it works fine
I'd say it is a crucial addition to the HD2, as I use it every day, and it makes my text input much less of a chore. It is particularly useful because of its multi-language support. I've never had any problems like those described, thankfully.
have you guys done any soft resets since the initial reset after installation? I also found the keyboard became slow to start after I played with the setting. the omnia 2 version is working better for me and with the htc skin looks awesome.

If you overwrite the ModelID with the file provided, you are effectively telling your phone that you are now....a...tmobile hd2.
The swype keyboard has protection in it...only a tmobile hd2 will work with it.
hence why you need the modelid
now here is the kicker...
Say sprint - you run sprint tv. get an error. wanna know why? sprint asks "what phone" and your phone replies "tmobilehd2.
Same thing with prl updates...
I think you get the point...
when you overwrite the modelid, all exchange accounts - gone (sorta). Your 4 digit pin become a lockout - no pin will unlock it.
in short, bad things happen.
And this is why you always provision your phone before you set it up. part of provisioning is setting the modelid...
which is why people on mighty that forgot to provision before seting up exchange need that fix e-mails cab...
any questions?

@leepriestenator, if I don't use any provider software, I can install swype without any problem right ?
leepriestenator is correct. Thanks. As our phones are all unlock where we are, the problem is just resetting the mobile provider. It is working fine on my phone, though the phone identity is now T-mobile_Leo.
Having said that, it is a much improved version over the one in Samsung.
I was having a hell of a time getting my market to start showing protected apps again after I installed DC2r2. I went back to DC1.0 where I knew the market used to work and because I think it was running smoother.
I tried all the fixes I could find.
1. Install a 1.5 nand (didn't work)
2. Edit build.prop (didn't work)
3. RUU (didn't work)
At some point I read that if you can install one of the protected apk files then it will fix the problem. So I went to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644038 and installed Barcode Scanner. As soon as I did that all the other protected apps (shop savvy, twidroid Pro, etc) appeared.
If anyone else is still having problems could you try this fix and let me know if it works for you. I'm hoping to confirm this as working. Thanks.

didn't work here on my RegawMOD v1.3.1
the long workaround works though on this build.
But tomorrow, my v2.0 should have all this fixed

I think it might only work if you go back to a version that used to work and do it. I went back to DC1.0.

By the way your rom is amazing would love to see protected apps working correctly as i do everything from my phone and downloading all these roms to sd card is pretty draining...also where can i find friend steam apk to test out even though i know it does not work
Some of the fixes out there show some but not all protected apps. You may see Twidroid Pro and Barcode Scanner but try to search for Droidlive and see if you see the paid version. I didn't after applying some of these fixes.
Funny thing is I went to my son's hero that has never had a 2.1 build on it, he's running Gumbo 1.5, and this phone wouldn't see the Droidlive paid app.
But running the new version of Fresh 2.0d I seem to see everything or at least I think I do. Droidlive is back along with other protected apps that I know of.
