I'm using the Duttys Task Manager 2.1.19183631 and it works well, but it doesn't recognise Opera.
It doesn't close Opera on pressing the X and the Opera doesn't appear in pull down list of the task manager.
How can I fix it?

That function is built in Spb PocketPlus.

batterystatus has a good task manager
I just want any that don´t use a lot of memory
magic button
the executable itself is less than 100kb in size
dinarsoft Handyswitcher all the way. Has lots of functions and can be fully controlled via dpad
i use quickmenu. i just press the ok botton, and the app is closed, or tap the x icon on screen to minimize an app. no need for going through a bunch of menus just to close an app.

+1 on quickmenu, highly configurable for what you want to close and what you may always want to minimize.
Pbar works really well and so does wktask.
do you want a task manager? ( list of programs, select which to close )
or
An app to close a program which is on screen currently? ( closes instead of minimizes )
I just want a program to close the aplication, because a task manaker probably will use more memory.Don´t you?
Can you help me if im agree or not?
vijay555's vjokbutt would be the best then it doesn't 'run' in the background as it is a .exe file which you would need to map to one of you hardware buttons to close the current app
Go to Windows folder, look for TaskManagerLite.exe.
Now copy and create a shortcut at:
Windows>Start Menu>Programs>(to whatever folder you prefer)
This Task Manager is the simple version of the Task Manager from Quick Menu without the settings, etc... it is just the plain Task Manager to close All or any Open Selected applications. It is powerful that it closes applications not even Magic Button and Small Menu can touch.
great trick. I'll try to my Wizard and hope work

Hello,
I am looking for a small and simple task manager instead HTC Task Manager. Actually The HTC T.M. is doing fine but since it's been removed from latest official ROM and installing "dutty's HTC T.M." gives some visual troubles. I don't know why but dutty's lost sometimes the buttons in it. I mean there is a task manager but useless.
Do you know a working HTC T.M. or an alternate one?
Regards.
P.S.
Forgive my very poor English.
using ameba you can assign the longpress on start button to open /windows/taskmgr.exe
very basic and yet effective task manager (windows default taskmanager)
I will try. Thanks.
try mmtaskmanager

Xtask is amazing.

mmtask is nice but a little long to launch compare to windows taskmgr...
Xtask isn't bad but i think i prefere waku's wktask !
(it's only a question of taste

I am too used to PC-like interface for managing running programs...
I think i'll go to develop a small and simple task manager that will have the same interface with HTC's. Will use c#
