That function is built in Spb PocketPlus.

batterystatus has a good task manager
I just want any that don´t use a lot of memory
magic button
the executable itself is less than 100kb in size
dinarsoft Handyswitcher all the way. Has lots of functions and can be fully controlled via dpad
i use quickmenu. i just press the ok botton, and the app is closed, or tap the x icon on screen to minimize an app. no need for going through a bunch of menus just to close an app.

+1 on quickmenu, highly configurable for what you want to close and what you may always want to minimize.
Pbar works really well and so does wktask.
do you want a task manager? ( list of programs, select which to close )
or
An app to close a program which is on screen currently? ( closes instead of minimizes )
I just want a program to close the aplication, because a task manaker probably will use more memory.Don´t you?
Can you help me if im agree or not?
vijay555's vjokbutt would be the best then it doesn't 'run' in the background as it is a .exe file which you would need to map to one of you hardware buttons to close the current app

SPB Pocket Plus / task manager question

What version are you installing?
You don't like the free WkTask Manager which is way better?

[Q] Programs Won't Close!!!

after I installed about 5 programs on my sprint touch(official 6.1) programs don't close with X. I've gone into the settings and it is on close with X but that is just minimizing it. and even if I hold x it doesn't close. I know this isn't much info but Im on my touch right now so that's why. oh yea and I can post all my installed programs if necessary.
You need to get together with this guy and trade devices.
Sorry, just joking. Anyway, make sure you don't have any programs installed that have control over the X button. Such programs take-over the X-button and can mess with HTC Task Manager. WKTask is a popular programs which does this.
the only thing like that that I have installed is like another htc task manager
well um since i have no help yet im bumping. and i just uninstalled the htc task manager that i got from the manilla stuff and now the drop down box doesn't even show up on the Today screen. And X still will not close programs, just minimize them, except now i have to go to settings to exit them
I think you have to long hold x to close (not just tap) tap minimizes
no I have the settings in task manager set to tap x to close. and I have tried holding x and it doesn't do anything. also if you know a registry key that has to do with it please say so
bumppppppp
Had the same problem with wm6.1.
Solved this with "HTC x-button v1.5". Maybe this will help you.
oh wow thanks thanks thanks for this.

[Q] How to get HTC Task manager/Enlarged start menu to work on a non htc device?

Hi,
The device is a MWG Zinc II. Applications downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2761662&postcount=3885.
Thanks
Currently the HTC task manager cannot work in MWg Zinc II. So you will have to use the default task manager.
Enlarge Menu and Enlarge Title

The StartMenu and TitleBar were not working on my Wizard (running theloon's 318); and I think I found out why.
Use the fdcsoft TaskManager to enable the service "EnlargeStartMenu" & "LargeTitleBar", and it WILL work!
Now. if we could only figure out why this is not enabled in the first place...

Looking for a small Task Manager

Hello,
I am looking for a small and simple task manager instead HTC Task Manager. Actually The HTC T.M. is doing fine but since it's been removed from latest official ROM and installing "dutty's HTC T.M." gives some visual troubles. I don't know why but dutty's lost sometimes the buttons in it. I mean there is a task manager but useless.
Do you know a working HTC T.M. or an alternate one?
Regards.
P.S.
Forgive my very poor English.
using ameba you can assign the longpress on start button to open /windows/taskmgr.exe
very basic and yet effective task manager (windows default taskmanager)
I will try. Thanks.
try mmtaskmanager
http://sites.google.com/site/maximusmobileproject/Current-Apps/mmtaskma
Xtask is amazing.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606162
mmtask is nice but a little long to launch compare to windows taskmgr...
Xtask isn't bad but i think i prefere waku's wktask !
(it's only a question of taste
dsgxfgchretydu
WkTask +1
I am too used to PC-like interface for managing running programs...
I think i'll go to develop a small and simple task manager that will have the same interface with HTC's. Will use c#
